• THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT REQUIRES THE USE OF A FULL BODY FALL ARREST HARNESS SYSTEM (FBFAHS) THAT INCLUDES A LINEMAN’S CLIMBING BELT. A LINEMAN’S
CLIMBING BELT ALLOWS THE USER TO REMAIN ATTACHED TO THE TREE THROUGH CLIMBING AND DESCENT SO THAT THEY MAY REMAIN ATTACHED TO THE TREE FROM THE
MOMENT THEY LEAVE THE GROUND UNTIL THEY RETURN TO THE GROUND. THE FBFAHS MUST BE USED AND ATTACHED TO THE TREE PRIOR TO GAINING ENTRY UPON THE
TREESTAND PLATFORM, AND SHOULD BE WORN AND ATTACHED TO THE TREE AT ALL TIMES WHILE USING THE TREESTAND UNTIL SAFELY BACK AT GROUND LEVEL. READ
AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS THAT WERE PROVIDED WITH YOUR FBFAHS.
• THE LENGTH OF THE HARNESS TETHER SHALL BE MINIMIZED AT ALL TIMES. IT SHALL BE ADJUSTED SO THAT IT IS ABOVE THE HEAD WITH NO SLACK (OR SNUG) IN THE
SEATED POSITION. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN SUSPENSION WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO RECOVER TO YOUR TREESTAND. BE AWARE OF HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH
HANGING SUSPENDED IN A FBFAHS AND THE FACT THAT PROLONGED SUSPENSION IN A HARNESS MAY BE FATAL.
• ALWAYS NOTIFY SOMEONE OF YOUR HUNTING LOCATION IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. IF OTHERS ARE NOT AWARE OF YOUR HUNTING LOCATION AND COMMUNICATION
EFFORTS ARE UNSUCCESSFUL, YOU MUST HAVE A PERSONAL PLAN FOR RECOVERY/ESCAPE BEFORE YOU ASCEND THE TREE - PROLONGED SUSPENSION IN A HARNESS
CAN BE FATAL. IT IS IMPORTANT TO EXERCISE THE LEGS BY PUSHING AGAINST THE TREE OR DOING OTHER FORMS OF CONTINUOUS LEG EXERCISES TO AVOID BLOOD
POOLING WHILE BEING SUSPENDED. HUNTERS WITH VARYING DEGREES OF PHYSICAL FITNESS MAY REQUIRE DIFFERENT PLANS IN ORDER TO RECOVER/ESCAPE TO
AVOID EFFECTS OF PROLONGED SUSPENSION. HAVE A PERSONAL PLAN AND PRACTICE IT IN THE PRESENCE OF A RESPONSIBLE ADULT BEFORE LEAVING THE GROUND.
NO ESCAPE/RECOVERY PLAN WILL WORK FOR EVERY HUNTER ON EVERY TREE IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE. ONLY YOU CAN DETERMINE THE BEST RECOVERY/ESCAPE PLAN

CLIMBING AID IS FIRM AND LEVEL.
• ALWAYS STEP DOWN INTO THE FOOT PLATFORM AREA OF ANY FIXED POSITION TREESTAND. PLACEMENT OF THE FIXED POSITION TREESTAND MUST BE BELOW THE TOP
END OF THE CLIMBING AID.
• WHEN USING A FIXED POSITION TREESTAND, NEVER BE DISCONNECTED FROM THE TREE FOR ANY REASON OR AT ANYTIME. USE A TWO POINT (DOUBLE) CONNECTION
PROCESS WHILE MANEUVERING INTO THE TREESTAND OR AROUND OBSTACLES. A FBFAHS IS REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES ABOVE GROUND LEVEL.
• INSPECT ALL CABLES AND TREESTAND STRAPS PRIOR TO EACH USE OR PRIOR TO STEPPING ONTO THE PLATFORM. FAILURE TO DO SO COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY
OR DEATH.
• DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT UNTIL YOU UNDERSTAND SAFE AND PROPER USE. READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS PRIOR TO EACH USE!

• NEVER EXCEED THE MAXIMUM RATED WEIGHT LIMIT OF THIS PRODUCT. THIS LIMIT INCLUDES USER AND ALL GEAR TAKEN TO THE PLATFORM AREA.
• REPLACE ALL WEBBING AND CABLES EVERY (2) YEARS OR SOONER IF ANY DAMAGE IS PRESENT INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO FRAYING, CORROSION, CUTS, TEARS,
ABRASIONS, FADING, NICKS, CUTS OR ANY SIGNS THAT THE WEBBING OR CABLES HAVE BEEN FATIGUED OR STRESSED BY A FALL OR BY ANYTHING INCLUDING BUT NOT
LIMITED TO SUPPORTING EXCESS WEIGHT. IF ANY OF THE DAMAGE STATED ABOVE (OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF DAMAGE NOT LISTED) IS PRESENT, DISCONTINUE USE OF THE
PRODUCT IMMEDIATELY!
• DO NOT USE ANY TREESTAND IF ICE OR SNOW IS PRESENT ON THE TREESTAND OR CLIMBING AID.
• ALWAYS HAVE THREE (3) POINTS OF CONTACT TO ANY CLIMBING AID WHILE CLIMBING. NEVER CLIMB WITH ANYTHING ON YOUR BACK OR IN YOUR HANDS WHILE CLIMBING.

1. Position the Hawk RSX Seat as shown in figure 1.
2. Starting at one corner, work the seat around the seat
support bar until it is completely secure as shown in figure 2.

(Installation is made easier by the use of a powered screwdriver)
1. Insert the Footrest Bracket into the perimeter tube as shown in figure 3. This bracket should be placed between the first and
second rung from the front of the platform.
2. Secure the bracket with one self tapping screw as shown in figure 4. Repeat for the other side.
3. Insert two of the long shank bushings into the pre-punched holes in each end of the footrest tube as shown in figure 5.
4. Insert the short shank bushing into the outside of each footrest bracket from Step 1 (See figure 6).
5. Line up the footrest bar on the INSIDE of the two footrest brackets and secure one side using the 1 1/2” bolt and lock nut.
The gap between the other side of the bar and the bracket is normal at this point.
6. Insert the remaining 1 1/2” bolt through the other side of the footrest bar and pull the bar to the side so that you can tighten
the lock nut. If squeaking occurs, loosen the bolts by 1/2 turn.
7. Fold the bar down and note where it crosses the stand frame - make a mark on the footrest at this point. Fold the bar
back up. Secure the two rubber bumpers at the mark using the two remaining self tapping screws as shown in figure 7. Your
finished footrest should look like figure 8.

1. Select a straight, healthy tree without any obstructions
(branches or limbs).
2. Review, read, understand and follow all written and video
instructions that were provided with your FBFAHS. If you have
not read, or do not have these instructions, hunt from the
ground and DO NOT use this product.
3. With the climbing aid or climbing sticks properly attached to
the tree, attach your Lineman’s Belt to your FBFAHS. Using the
FBFAHS with a Lineman’s Belt and according to its instructions
climb up the climbing aid until you reach the height where you
want to hang the Fixed Position Treestand.
4. Connect the Attachment Bracket to the tree next. Position
the bracket as shown in figure 10. The open end of the bracket
should face up (see Side View, figure 10). Wrap the webbing
strap around the back of the tree and connect the double
J-hook to the opposite side of the bracket as shown in figure
11.
The double J-hook must be attached as shown in figure 12
(flat side toward the tree). Repeatedly pull the free webbing
end of the strap to cinch it down to the tree.

from any Fixed Position Treestand, a Full Body Fall
Arrest Harness System along with the supplied
Lineman’s Belt is mandatory and required. A FBFAHS
must be warn and attached to the tree at all times
after leaving the ground. NEVER attempt to install,
use or remove a Fixed Position treestand without
being stabilized by a Lineman’s Belt.

Climbing aids (Stick Ladders, Sectional Ladders, Steps,
etc... MUST EXTEND ABOVE the final position of the
hang-on platform so that the user may step down
from the climbing aid into the center of the platform.
ALWAYS step down from the climbing aid onto your
platform. NEVER attempt to climb up onto a hang-
on platform from a climbing aid mounted below the
platform.

Correct tightening and adjustment of the Hanging
Strap is critical. All treestand contact points MUST BE

5. Using a pull up rope, haul your Raptor or Hawk stand
up to your current position.
6. Lift the stand up and set the cable cross bar down
into the Talon Bracket as shown in figure 13.
7. The foot platform on both models can be leveled
by adjusting the two platform cables attached to the
front of the platform. NEVER adjust any part of the
treestand while standing on the platform.
Lift up slightly on the front of the platform and move
the cable to the desired notch as shown in figure 15 and
figure 16. The cables can be adjusted independently on
either side of the platform.
8. Once the platform has been adjusted, wrap the
supplied green tourniquet buckle strap through the
frame and around the tree as shown in figure 17. Pull
tight to cinch the platform teeth to the tree.

10. To exit the stand, carefully step out of the treestand and descend down the climbing aid until you can’t go any lower below
the foot platform while still attached by the Tether Strap.
11. Attach your Lineman’s Belt to the tree below the treestand. Once secured, disconnect your Tether Strap and carefully
descend down the tree using the Lineman’s Belt. Never be disconnected from the tree for any reason, at any time.
!
CAUTION
NEVER leave a hang-on treestand in a tree for more than two
weeks at a time. Weather, animals and tree growth can damage
the stand, attachment straps and buckles. NEVER use a treestand
that has been left in a tree for more that two weeks at a time.

NEVER adjust the straps or cables while on the Fixed
Position Treestand!! Check all straps prior to each use!

NEVER BOUNCE OR JUMP ON THE FOOT PLATFORM IN AN ATTEMPT TO SECURE THE
STAND TO THE TREE OR FOR ANY OTHER REASON. DOING THIS CAN DAMAGE THE
TREESTAND CAUSING THE PRODUCT TO BE OVER-LOADED, WHICH COULD RESULT
IN SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE TREESTAND, AND COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR
DEATH!!
9. Attach the tether of your harness to the Tree Strap above the seat area of the fixed position treestand. At this point you will
be double connected to the tree. Now, disconnect your Lineman’s Belt and climb up the climbing aid so you can step DOWN into
the foot platform area. Note: You may need to slide the Tree Strap up so you can step into the platform area safely.
10. While being EXTREMELY careful, place one foot into center of the foot platform while holding onto the tree. Ensure the
Tree Strap is above your head to limit the distance of fall if one would occur. Once the tree cleats have adhered to the tree and
the platform does not move, place other foot into platform area.

REMOVAL
Remove the stand at least every two weeks. Never leave a stand in a tree for more that two weeks.
1. With the climbing aid properly attached to the tree, attach your Lineman’s Belt to your FBFAHS. Climb up the climbing aid
until you reach the Fixed Position Treestand.
NOTE: Check all straps/ropes of the climbing aid prior to each use.
2. Remove the lower foot platform strap first. Next, attach your hoist rope to the Fixed Position Treestand. Carefully, loosen the
top belt strap enough so you can un-hook the belt strap from one side of the treestand while holding onto the treestand. Once
un-hooked, carefully lower the treestand to the ground.
3. Carefully descend the tree using the Lineman’s Belt of your FBFAHS using 3-points of contact.
• It is REQUIRED to read, understand, and follow the Full Body Fall Arrest Harness System (FBFAHS) Summit Harness
(SU18195-A & SU18195-B) written and video instructions and warnings prior to use of a fixed position treestand. Hunt from
the ground until you fully understand safe and proper use of the FBFAHS and fixed position treestand.
• It is REQUIRED to use a FBFAHS at all times after leaving the ground!
• When ascending to or descending from the fixed position treestand, you must be attached to the tree at all times. The
Lineman’s Belt strap is provided with the harness and treestand and it is REQUIRED to be used in conjunction with your
FBFAHS.
• NEVER be disconnected from the tree for any reason or at any time!
• It is REQUIRED to use the double connection method of securing yourself to the tree with your FBFAHS and Lineman’s Belt
strap when entering your fixed treestand from your climbing aid or leaving your fixed position treestand to your climbing
aid. The double connection method insures that you are attached to the tree at all times after leaving the ground. Refer
to FBFAHS written and video warning and instructions for safe and proper use. (refer to step 4, page 7 of the FBFAHS
instruction booklet)
• ALWAYS step DOWN into your fixed position treestand from your climbing aid while being connected to the tree. NEVER be
disconnected from the tree for any reason or at any time!!
• Before each use, inspection of treestand, climbing aid, FBFAHS, expiration tags, straps, ropes, cables, and all hardware must
be done before leaving the ground or stepping onto/using the product(s).
1. Climb up the tree using your FBFAHS and Lineman’s Belt strap pursuant to the written and video instructions provided with
your FBFAHS.
2. Once you arrive at your fixed position treestand, check all straps and cables on the fixed position for nicks, cuts, tears, fading,
corrosion (rust), frayed webbing or frayed steel cable strands or other damage before stepping onto the platform. If any signs of
damage are present, discontinue use immediately and hunt from the ground.
3. If visual inspection finds no present damage, connect your Tether Tree strap to the tree above the fixed position treestand.
Now you are double connected. Detach your Lineman’s Belt and climb up above the foot platform so you can carefully step
DOWN into the foot platform.
4. Adjust the Tether Strap belt so that your tether (connected to your full body harness) is tight (no slack) while in a seated
position. This will eliminate the distance of a fall if one would occur.
5. While sitting down, carefully pull up your weapon (with weapon UNLOADED or un-cocked and barrel pointed to the ground)
using a hoist rope without leaning over the side of the treestand. Never climb with a weapon.
6. DO NOT jump or bounce on the foot platform. NEVER lean over the side of platform area or stand on the seat platform.
7. Always enter your fixed position treestand with visible sunlight and ALWAYS exit your fixed position treestand before all
visible sunlight is gone. DO NOT enter or exit your fixed position treestand in the dark where a light would be required.
8. Exiting the fixed position treestand: Unload your weapon and lower it to the ground using a rope or hoist (with the muzzle
pointed to the ground).
9. Step UP and out of the fixed position treestand onto your climbing aid while still attached to the tree with your FBFAHS.
10. Climb down your climbing aid until you cannot slide the Tether Belt strap down any further. While still being connected
to the tree by the Tether Strap, attach and secure your Lineman’s Belt strap to your FBFAHS and around the tree. Once securely
attached to the tree through the Lineman’s Belt, detach your Tether Strap and descend down the tree slowly and carefully using
the Lineman’s Belt strap.
11. With both feet firmly on the ground, disengage your Lineman’s Belt strap from the tree.

(A) Warranty
Summit Treestands, LLC (Summit) warrants to the original retail purchaser that all products manufactured by it are free from defects in material and
manufacture at the time of shipment for sixty (60) months from the date of purchase. Summit will repair or replace any part found defective if the unit
claimed to be defective shall be returned to Summit, postage prepaid, within the warranty period.
This warranty shall not apply to any product which has been subjected to misuse; misapplication; neglect (including but not limited to improper maintenance);
accident; improper installation; modification (including but not limited to use of unauthorized parts or attachments); adjustment or repair. THE FOREGOING
IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED (INCLUDING THOSE OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS OF ANY PRODUCT FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE), AND OF ANY OTHER OBLIGATION OF LIABILITY ON THE PART OF THE COMPANY.
(B) Limitation of Liability
It is expressly understood that Summit’s liability for its products, whether due to breach of warranty, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, is limited to the
repair of the product, as stated above, and Summit will not be liable for any other injury, loss, damage, or expense, whether direct or consequential, including
but not limited to loss of use, income, profit, or damage to material, arising in connection with the sale, installation, use of, inability to use, or the repair or
replacement of Summit’s products.
Summit reserves the right to make alterations or modifications in its products at any time, which in its opinion, may improve the performance and efficiency of
the product. It shall not be obligated to make such alterations or modifications to products already in service.

It is necessary and very important that someone knows your hunting location and time of return. It is also very important
that you carry (on your person) emergency communication devices such as a cell phone, two-way radio, whistle, signal flare or preferably a PLD
(Personal Locator Device - FCC approved July, ‘03). When triggered, a PLD will transmit an emergency signal to local rescue teams identifying
your location via satellite GPS coordinates. PLD’s may be purchased at Wilderness outfitters or on the internet.
Suspension trauma or blood pooling can occur when suspended motionless in a harness for periods of time. This can lead to unconsciousness
and death. A suspension relief strap is furnished with your harness. Read your harness instructions to assure that you know how to use it.
Self extraction may be necessary in the unfortunate situation that (A) no one knows your
location, (B) your communication efforts are exhausted, (C) you are confident that you have
the strength, dexterity and ability to perform self-extraction and (D) you decide this is your
“absolute last resort”. It is recommended to carry a device to assist with this self-extraction.
Simple devices such as screw-in steps or a rope “Tree Descender” (available from Summit)
will allow you to remove the weight from your harness. This may enable you to return to the
treestand/ladder/climbing steps or slowly descend the tree.
Several optional products/systems are available that offer self-recovery or self extraction from
a fall when suspended in a harness. Returning to the ground obviously also relieves suspension trauma and some systems automatically descend
the user while others allow user control. If one of these products/systems is selected for use as an additional safety precaution against prolonged
suspension, be sure to follow the manufacturers’ directions for safe use.

• The seat on this treestand is removable. It is mandatory that it be removed and stored in a dry place when not in use.
Replace every two (2) years or sooner if damage or wear is present or if it appears faded.
• When not in use, store your treestand in a dry place - tree teeth pointing down - to keep water from pooling inside the
stand tubing. Water that is allowed to fill the stand tubing and freeze will rupture the tubing.
• The powdercoat finish applied at the factory is very durable and should only need touch ups in areas of heavy wear or
accidental impact. Use a high quality, outdoor spray paint to cover any bare metal areas that might develop.
• When transporting your Summit Treestand be sure it is securely tied down and be sure no other objects can slide into or hit
the treestand possibly causing damage.
• NEVER use your fixed position treestand for anything other than what it was designed for. This is a fixed position treestand
to be used on a tree for the purpose of hunting only.
Should you damage any part of your Summit Treestand, contact your nearest authorized Summit dealer or the factory to obtain
the proper corrective action procedure and/or replacement parts for the treestand.
Summit Treestands have the highest structural integrity by design, material selection and manufacturing techniques, but as its
owner, only your continued care will assure trouble free performance. When the above-mentioned guidelines are followed, your
Summit Treestand will provide years of successful hunting.

CAUTION
Before each use, look for nicks, gouges, cuts, cracks, bends, corrosion or other damage that can be the result of improper use
or accidental damage. For instance, this could occur if someone else used the treestand without knowledge of its proper use,
or if the treestand were dropped, hit by a motor vehicle or subject to corrosive conditions, etc.
