Features of your Sunleaves Digital 4-Way Soil Meter
• Measures light intensity at nine levels
• Measures moisture at ve levels
• Measures pH at 12 levels
• Measures temperatures to the nearest whole degree (ºC or ºF)
• Battery saving feature shuts unit off after four minutes of inactivity
Using your Sunleaves Digital 4-Way Soil Meter
Open the battery compartment on the back of the unit. Insert the 9V battery included with the unit
into the battery connector and replace the battery cover. A low battery indicator will display on the
LCD (F) when it’s time to replace the battery.
Remove the plastic cap from the probe before use, making sure to keep it in a safe place while you
use the meter. Replace it when nished to prevent accidental damage to the probe.
To initiate meter functioning, simply press the “ON” button. To turn the meter off, press and hold the
“C/F OFF” button for three seconds.
To measure light intensity:
1. Point the light sensor (raised plastic panel above the LCD) at the light source
2. The current light intensity will display on the LCD (A)
Light measurement is displayed at one of nine levels, as shown in the following table:
To measure pH:
1. Move the “pH/ºC/ ” switch on the back of the unit to “pH” position so LCD (B) illuminates
2. Carefully push the probe vertically into the soil, approximately 4-5” deep (Do not push the probe too
close to the base of the plant, as this may damage the plant’s root system)
3. The pH value of the tested soil will be displayed on the LCD (C)
A display of “Lo” or “HH” indicates the value is too low or too high to be measured. Please note that it may
take over three minutes for the meter to generate a measurement. Use the following table to interpret the
displayed reading:

To measure moisture:
1. Move the “pH/ºC/ ” switch on the back of the unit to the “ºC/ ” position so LCD (D) illuminates
2. Carefully push the probe vertically into the soil, approximately 4-5” deep (Do not push the probe too

3. The moisture value of the tested soil will be displayed on the LCD (D)
Please note that it may take over three minutes for the meter to generate a measurement. Moisture level is
displayed at one of ve levels, as shown in the following table:
To measure temperature:
1. Move the “pH/ºC/ ” switch on the back of the unit to the “ºC/ ” position so LCD (E) illuminates
2. Carefully push the probe vertically into the soil, approximately 4-5” deep (Do not push the probe too
close to the base of the plant, as this may damage the plant’s root system)
3. The temperature value of the tested soil will be displayed on the LCD (C)
4. Press the “C/F OFF” button to toggle the readout from degrees Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit
Use the following tips to ensure that your Sunleaves Digital 4-Way Soil Meter continues to
function properly:
• Only use the meter in soil. Do not place the probe directly in water or any other solutions.
• Do not leave the probe in soil longer than necessary.
• Do not bend the probe.
• Do not use the probe to break up soil.
• Wipe the probe clean before and after each use, making sure to dry it thoroughly.
• Always replace the probe’s protective cap to prevent oxidation.

Limited 1-Year Warranty Terms
Sunleaves Garden Products warrants this product to the original purchaser to be free of defective materials and work-
manship under normal use and service for 1 year from the original date of purchase. Sunleaves Garden Products, at its
option, will repair or replace components of this product if they are found to be defective in material or workmanship
within the warranty period. If Sunleaves, at its sole discretion, determines that the components are defective in material
or workmanship, then Sunleaves, at its option, will either repair or replace the components, provided that (1) a copy of
the original proof of purchase for this product by the original purchaser is delivered to Sunleaves; (2) the components
have not been tampered with, disassembled, repaired by unauthorized persons or altered; (3) the components have
not been damaged as a result of commercial use, lack of reasonable and proper maintenance, abusive or unreason-
able use, or supplemental damage. In no event shall the cost of repair or replacement exceed the original purchase
price. SUNLEAVES SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE,
INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGE OR INJURY CAUSED TO OTHER PRODUCTS, MACHINERY, BUILDINGS OR
PROPERTY; LOSS OF PROFITS, TIME OR PRODUCT; OR INCONVENIENCE. SUNLEAVES FURTHER DISCLAIMS ANY IMPLIED

Digital 4-Way Soil Meter Warranty is Void if:
• NOT ACCOMPANIED BY ORIGINAL PROOF OF PURCHASE.
• SOIL METER HAS BEEN WIRED IN A MANNER DIFFERENT FROM MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDATION.
