Mounting Rack to Wall:
1.Use the Spacing Chart above as a guideline to determine the distance between each Deluxe Rack arm.
a. Locate the first stud then measure across the ideal spacing distance (2nd column in chart)
b. Find the 2nd stud nearest to the ideal distance. Make sure it falls within the min/max spacing (column 3)
2.Be sure to mount the Deluxe Rack into a stud
. Screwing only into drywall is not sufficient and could
result in injury to self and kayak.
3.Pre-drill pilot holes for Phillips Head screw using 3/16” drill bit.
a. Vertically locate the first arm at a convenient height
b. Vertically locate the 2nd arm to be level with the first. Your eyes will get you close, a Level will get
perfection.
4.Rub soap on the screw threads for ease of installation.

Rack Adjustments –Fine Tuning
Since boats can vary greatly in their cross section, you may need to fine tune the Pivot Arm
and Strap adjustments. Set Pivot Arms in their horizontal (open) position, then place the boat
in the rack to assess the fit.
If you have not yet opened your cold beverage, this would be an appropriate time to do so.
PIVOT ARM –fine tuning:
-Pivot arms are adjusted to “suspend” the boat on its side so it has a slight backward
lean. This prevents the boat from falling forward. (be sure to tighten knob after
adjusting Pivot Arms.).
-There should be a small gap between the top of the pivot arm and the boat so that the
pivot arm does not touch the boat.
STRAP LENGTH ADJUSTMENT
-There should be a gap of about 1” to 2” between the boat and the suspension arm.
Adjust the length of the strap to achieve this.
-It is a lot easier if you remove the boat to adjust the strap length. (strap length is
adjusted at the pivot arm).
SAFETY STRAP ADJUSTMENT
-Verify that the safety straps can be connected over the top of the boat.
-Extension Safety Strap (provided) may be added to ensure enough length.
-Adjust the safety strap length to achieve a snug fit.
Adjusting the Racks for your Boat:
The next two adjustments are starting points that will work well for an average boat. You may
need to fine tune them once your boat is in place.
1st Set the Pivot Arm Distance:
-Boats can vary greatly in their cross section.
-Lay your boat flat on the ground centered in front of the racks as if you were getting
ready to place it in the racks.
-Now measure the depth of the boat at the points that line up with each arm.
-Adjust the movable Pivot Arm distance on each Suspension Arm so it equals the
depth of the boat + 4-1/2”, tighten knob to lock pivot bracket in place. Caution: Do
not exceed 18-1/2” for the Pivot Am Distance (so the locking pin will engage)
2nd Set the Strap Length:
-Adjust the length of the suspension strap so that the Pivot Arm lays almost
horizontal when the strap is tight, as shown. 
-Pivot arm should fall freely, if not then loosen hex bolt and nut with hex wrench.
USE INSTRUCTIONS
TO LOAD
-Open pivot arms (horizontal) toward front of rack, this will allow for clearance for the
boat and easy loading
-Center boat so same amount of the boat is “suspended” beyond each end of straps.
-When boat is positioned on its side and lowered onto straps, the Pivot arms will snap up
into the vertical position… The Magic Moment!
Adjust angle of boat to a secure resting position (approx. 80 degrees) and fasten Safety
Straps.
-Insert locking pin into Pivot Arm to lock it in the closed position. Important safety
requirement to prevent pivot arms from opening unintentionally
TO UN-LOAD
-Remove locking pin from the pivot arm (for safe keeping lock them over the flat arm –
they won’t get lost there!)
-Release safety Straps
-Lift boat slightly and move the boat towards you, the pivot arms with fall forward
automatically when the weight of the boat has been lifted.
