The devices will come pre-
configured according to customer
requirements.
The SWATCOM MULTICOM system relies
on one unit being the MASTER (ID 00),
only one handset can be the MASTER,
if more than one unit is designated as
the MASTER the system will not operate
properly. Each handset will also have its
own unique designated number, which
can be changed if necessary. No handset
can have the same number, if they do
then one of the handsets will not work.
1.0 Starting the system
• To start the system, locate the
‘MASTER’ handset and switch it on, the
‘MASTER’s LCD display will show the
‘MASTER’ and the ‘TALK’ symbols.
• Turn on all other handsets, the LCD
displays will show the ‘TALK’ symbol,
it does not matter in which order these
are turned on, the system is now ready
to be used.
The headsets can be attached either before or
after the handsets have been switched on.
1.1 How to setup a MASTER
Handset (TX & RX)
• Turn on the handset labelled MASTER
• Press and hold the ‘Mode’ button until
‘GRP’ 󰈥ashes on the LCD and select the
desired group number (0-39), via the
volume control buttons.
• Press the ‘Mode’ button again and use
the volume buttons to set the ID to
00, ‘MASTER’ and ‘TALK’ symbols will
appear on the LCD.
• *Side Tone: Press ‘Mode’ button again,
‘SO’ will 󰈥ash on the LCD. Select either
‘SO’ (Side Tone On) or ‘SF’ (Side Tone
O󰈣) via the volume buttons. The Side
Tone is where you can hear your own
voice in the headset.
• *Transmit Mode: Press ‘Mode’ button
again, ‘PO’ will 󰈥ash on the LCD. Select
either ‘PO’ Transmit and Receive (TX &
RX) or ‘PF’ Receive Only (RX). (This has
no e󰈣ect on the MASTER handset)
• *Microphone Sensitivity: Press
‘Mode’ button again, ‘C3’ will 󰈥ash on
the LCD. Use the volume buttons to
select the desired sensitivity level.
• *Audio Output Level: Press ‘Mode’
button again, ‘UL’ will 󰈥ash on the LCD.
Select either ‘UL’ (Audio Output Low)
or ‘UH’ (Audio Output High). Useful for
when you are operating in a high-noise
area.
• Press and hold the ‘Mode’ and ‘Talk’
buttons simultaneously for 7 seconds
to lock all buttons except the volume
control.
*Optional settings
1.2 How to setup, up to 4 full-duplex
handsets (TX & RX)
• Turn on a handset from the numbers 1-4
• Press and hold the ‘Mode’ button until
‘GRP’ 󰈥ashes on the LCD and select the
desired group number (0-39), via the
volume control buttons.
• Press the ‘Mode’ button again and
use the volume buttons to select an ID
between 1 to 4, the ‘TALK’ symbols will
appear on the LCD. Do NOT use the ID
00.
• *Side Tone: Press ‘Mode’ button again,
‘SO’ will 󰈥ash on the LCD. Select either
‘SO’ (Side Tone On) or ‘SF’ (Side Tone
O󰈣) via the volume buttons. The Side
Tone is where you can hear your own
voice in the headset.
• *Transmit Mode: Press ‘Mode’ button
again, ‘PO’ will 󰈥ash on the LCD. Select
either ‘PO’ Transmit and Receive or ‘PF’
Receive Only. (If ‘PF’ is selected it will
stop you from transmitting)
• *Microphone Sensitivity: Press
‘Mode’ button again, ‘C3’ will 󰈥ash on
the LCD. Use the volume buttons to
select the desired sensitivity level.
*Optional settings

• *Audio Output Level: Press ‘Mode’
button again, ‘UL’ will 󰈥ash on the LCD.
Select either ‘Ul’ (Audio Output Low)
or ‘UH’ (Audio Output High). Useful for
when you are operating in a high-noise
area.
• Press and hold the ‘Mode’ and ‘Talk’
buttons simultaneously for 7 seconds
to lock all buttons except the volume
control.
1.3 How to setup other handsets in
Listen-Only mode (RX Only)
• Turn on a handset from the numbers

• Press and hold the ‘Mode’ button until
‘GRP’ 󰈥ashes on the LCD and select the
desired group number (0-39), via the
volume control buttons.
• Press the ‘Mode’ button again and
use the volume buttons to set the ID
between 5 to 34, the ‘TALK’ symbols
will appear on the LCD. Do NOT use the
ID 00.
• *Side Tone: Press ‘Mode’ button again,
‘SO’ will 󰈥ash on the LCD. Select either
‘SO’ (Side Tone On) or ‘SF’ (Side Tone
O󰈣) via the volume buttons. The Side
Tone is where you can hear your own
voice in the headset.
• IMPORTANT Transmit Mode: Press
‘Mode’ button again, ‘PO’ will 󰈥ash on
the LCD. Select ‘PF’ Receive Only (RX).
• *Microphone Sensitivity: Press
‘Mode’ button again, ‘C3’ will 󰈥ash on
the LCD. Use the volume buttons to
select the desired sensitivity level.
• *Audio Output Level: Press ‘Mode’
button again, ‘UL’ will 󰈥ash on the LCD.
Select either ‘UL’ (Audio Output Low)
or ‘UH’ (Audio Output High). Useful for
when you are operating in a high-noise
area.

buttons simultaneously for 7 seconds

2 Range
All handsets must be within 400m Line-
of-Sight (LoS) of the ‘MASTER’. When
a handset goes out of range of the
‘MASTER’ an audible BEEP will sound
within the headset and the ‘SIGNAL’
symbol on the LCD screen will have no
bars.
3 Charging and Battery
IMPORTANT: Make sure the handset is
turned OFF before charging, not doing
so will signi󰈤cantly reduce the life of the
battery.
• Plug the USB charging cable into the
USB socket on the side of the handset
• Connect cable to charger and attached
to mains power.
• The red LED in top right hand side of
the handset will come on, the red LED
will go o󰈣 once the handset is charged
The handset contains a non-removeable,
rechargeable 3.7V, 1100mA Li-Ion battery.
GRP: Radio Groups
40 Groups (Channels) available
All users must be on the same group to
be able to communicate.
ID: Radio Identifications
• This is the handset identi󰈤cation code.
The MASTER is always set a ‘00’
• Full-Duplex (TX & RX) is always set 1-4
• Listen Only (RX) are always set at 5-34
SO/SF: Side Tone
The side tone feature is where you can
hear your own voice in the headset,
useful for self-monitoring.
• SO: Side Tone ON
• SF: Side Tone OFF
PO/PF: Transmit Mode
• PO: Transmit and Receive (TX & RX)
• PF: Receive Only (RX)
C1-C5: Microphone Sensitivity
Select the sensitivity level of the micro-
phone.
• C1 lowest
• C5 highest
UH/UL: Audio Output Level
Adjusts the output audio levels, useful in
high-noise environments.
• UH: Audio Output High
• UL: Audio Output Low
