Setup and User Guide
Thank you for purchasing the SL-338H RFID Locker Lock. This
user guide details the different functions of this product, please
keep a copy for your records.

These locks are not recommended for use on metal lockers
unless a 1-2 cm metal free area is created around the round
cover plate. This should be tested prior to ordering in volume
to ensure that the lock can function without metal interference.

1. What’s in the box
Each lock is packaged in its own box that includes the follow parts:
1 x SL-338H RFID Lock Housing (Installed Inside Locker Door)
2 x Phillips wood screws to secure the housing
1 x Round Reader Module Cover Plate (Installed Outside Locker Door)
2 x Multi-head screws to secure the cover plate to housing
1 x Latch Stopper
3 x Phillips wood screws to secure the Latch Stopper
1 x Screw for Battery Cover

What’s not included
RFID Cards: You will need 2-6 pcs RFID Card for initial set up
and ongoing lock management. These can be purchased from
SYNOMETRIX at time of order.
RFID Tags: No matter what type of locker lock system you
purchase, your guests will need an RFID wristband, key fob
or card to open the locker. These can also be purchased from
SYNOMETRIX at time of order.

4. Owner Card Programming
Owner Card is used for programming only.
It cannot be used to lock or unlock.

Only One Owner Card is allowed for each lock.

Use the same Owner Card for all locks of the
same project.

Programming Owner Card
1. After initialization, scan the rst Mifare card near the inductive area.
2. The green LED will light up and a chime sound.
3. This card is now the Owner Card. Label the card and store in a secure location when not in
use.
Changing Owner Card
1. Remove the front lock housing from the door.
2. Follow initialization procedure in section 1.
3. Program a new Owner Card as instructed above.
3. Initialization
1. Remove the battery compartment cover and insert 4 AA alkaline batteries into the holder.
2. Insert the plug of the rear panel into the socket of the front panel
3. Press the RESET button until a beep is heard, the red LED lights up, and a melody chime
sounds.
4. The lock is now initialized.
Initialization will remove all programmed cards
and return the lock to factory settings.

Removing Select Master Card(s)
1. Scan the Owner Card. A chime will sound and both LEDs will blink for 6 seconds.
2. During these 6 seconds, scan the Master Card(s) to be removed.
3. A different chime will sound indicating that the card(s) has been removed.
5. Master Card Programming
Programming Master Card(s)
1. Scan the Owner Card. A chime will sound and both LEDs will blink for 6 seconds.
2. During these 6 seconds, scan up to 5 unused Mifare cards to be programmed.
3. The scanned card(s) is(are) now the Master Card(s). Label the card(s) and store in a
secure location when not in use.
1 to 5 Master Cards are allowed for each lock.

Management Tip: Use different Master Cards
for locks in different areas.
E.g. men’s and ladies’ change rooms
💡
Removing ALL Master Cards
1. Scan the Owner Card twice. A chime will sound and both red and green LEDs will blink.
2. Scan the Owner Card a third time. A different chime will sound and all LEDs will turn off.
3. All Master and User Cards have now been removed.
This will also remove all programmed User
Cards.

Unlock Using Master Card
1. Scan the Master Card. A chime will sound and both LEDs will blink for 6 seconds.
2. After 6 seconds, a second chime sounds and the unit will unlock.
3. All User Cards have also been removed.
Unlocking with a Master Card will also remove
all programmed User Cards.

Removing Select User Card(s)
1. Scan the Master Card. A chime will sound and both LEDs will blink for 6 seconds.
2. During these 6 seconds, scan the Master Card a second time. A chime will sound and
LEDs will blink for another 6 seconds.
3. Scan the card(s) to be removed during these 6 seconds.
4. A different chime will sound indicating that the card(s) has been removed.
6. User Card Programming
Programming User Card(s)
1. Scan the Master Card. A chime will sound and both LEDs will blink for 6 seconds.
2. During these 6 seconds, scan the Mifare card(s) to be programmed.
3. The scanned card(s) is(are) now the User Card(s). Label the card(s) and store in a secure
location when not in use.
Changing the Number of User Cards (Default 5)
1. Scan the Master Card continuously four (4) times.
2. Scan the Owner Card once.
3. After the chime, the lock will now only accept 1 User Card.
4. To change back to 5 Card mode, repeat steps 1 to 3.
The lock can be congured to accept up to 5
(default) or only 1 User Card

Removing ALL User Cards
1. Scan the Master Card. A chime will sound and both LEDs will blink for 6 seconds.
2. After 6 seconds, a second chime sounds and the lock will unlock.
3. All User Cards have now been removed.
Unlock Using User Cards
1. Scan the User Card. A chime will sound and the green LED will light up.
2. The unit is unlocked.
Unregistered Card Alarm
1. An alarm will sound after 5 attempts to open the lock with an unregistered User Card.
2. Scan a registered User Card to deactivate the alarm.

7. Lock Mode Setting
Locking In Auto Mode
1. After unlocking for 5 seconds, a chime will sound and the red LED will light up.
2. The unit is now locked. The red indicator LED ashes every 6 seconds.
Locking In Manual Mode
1. While the lock is unlocked, scan a User Card.
2. A chime will sound and the red LED will light up.
3. The unit is now locked. The red indicator LED ashes every 6 seconds.
Changing the Locking Mode (Default Auto)
1. Scan the Master Card continuously three (3) times.
2. Scan the Owner Card once.
3. After the chime, the unit is now in manual locking mode.
4. To change back to auto locking mode, repeat steps 1 to 3.
The lock can be toggled between automatic
(default) or manual locking.

8. Latch Alarm Setting
Silencing the Latch Alarm
1. With the door open and latch accessible, place the unit in locked mode.
2. Scan the Owner Card and wait for the lights to blink.
3. Press the latch and listen for two “Beep” sounds.
4. The latch alarm is now off.
Activating the Latch Alarm
1. With the door open and latch accessible, place the unit in locked mode.
2. Scan the Owner Card and wait for the lights to blink.
3. Press the latch and listen for one “Beep” sound.
4. The latch alarm is now active.
While the unit is locked, an alarm will sound by
default if the latch is pressed by force.

9. Low Battery Warning
Replacing the Batteries
1. Slide open the battery compartment cover.
2. Remove and safely discard used batteries according to local disposal guidelines.
3. Insert 4 new AA alkaline batteries in the holder and reattach the cover.
A warning chime will sound while unlocking
when the unit batteries are low.

Mixing old and new batteries, or batteries of
different types, is not recommended.

10. Emergency Unlocking
Required Parts (Not Included):
1. Attach battery to the connector.
2. Connect leads to the two contact points on the faceplate.
3. With the battery connected, scan a valid Card to open.
A 9V power source can be used to gain access*
to locked units with drained batteries.
*Valid User or Master Card required.
