Safety Instructions
Thenameplateisontherearofthe central processing unit (CPU).
Make sure that the system voltage (V) specified on the name plate is
thesameasyourmainsvoltage.
DonotconnecttheCPUunlessyourmainssupplycircuit
providesgroundingwires.Shouldthemonitorsandthe
computersalsobeprovidedwithprotectiveground
terminals,pleasenotethatvideosignaltransmissionto
groundnecessitatesnoiselessgroundwiring(cf.TroubleShooting).
ProtecttheCPU fromanyinfluence ofhightemperatures, moistureanddust. Theventsincover
andbottommustnotbecoveredatanytime(e.g.byinstallingtheunitonacarpetedfloor).
Adequateventilationtobesafeguardedatalltimes.
Besurethatthemainsplughasbeenunplugged before opening
thepowersupplyunit.Allmaintenanceandrepairworkshould

Starting MKVision Plus
MKVisionplushasamainswitchwhichisintegrated
intothepowersupplyunitanddisconnectsthesystem
fromthemains,aswellasasecondswitch,whichis
accommodatedinthecontrolpanel(seeillustration).
Thesecondswitchwillonly be used toenableor
disablethecontrolpanel.Localworkonthe
networkedcomputerscan,however,continue
inanycase(forwhichpurposethemains
switchneedstohave beenclosed).
Eachworkstationisrepresentedbyaseparatekeyinthecontrolpanel,thenumbers1...16indicatingthe
participants’workstationsandthekey“D”theteacher(seeillustrationabove).
Thecontrolpanelofthe“comfort” version
mimicsthepositionofthedifferentworkstations
intheroom, which iswhy there areno numbers
asinthebasic/classicversions.
Amonitorseenfrombehindrepresentsaparticipant’s
workstation,whiletheteacher’smonitorisshown
from the front and marked by the letter “D”.

General
Sender
OneMKVisionplusworkstationisalwaysinthesendmode.
Thisisindicatedbythepilotlamprepresentingthisworkstation.
Receiver
Thesame maybe connected to one or several workstations (or noneat all) that are in the receive mode.
Workstationsconnectedasreceiverswillbeidentifiedbytheirflashingpilotlamps.
Select
Whenpressingandholdingonekeyandatthesametimemomentarilytouchingadditionalkeys,the
workstationkeptpressedwillbecomethesender,whiletheothermonitorswillassumeareceivefunction.
ChangeSender
Shouldyetanother key bepressedonce sender andreceiver(s) have beenselected,the workstation
concernedwillbecomethenewsender,whilethe previous sender returns toitsownimage.
Exclude Receiver
Whenpressingthekeyofaworkstation already connected in thereceivemode,thisworkstationwillbe
excludedfrom the list of receivers selected and return to its own image.
AddmoreReceivers
To extend the number of receivers, again press and hold the key of the present sender and select new
workstationsasdescribed.
The „D“ Key (Teacher)
Theteacher’sstationcanbeoperatedinthesamemannerasanyoftheother(participants’)workstations.
Forspecialfeatures,pleaserefertothesection„teacherviewsandcontrolsparticipant’smonitor/
computer“.
Automaticmouse/keyboardlockout
Ifaparticipantisnolongerabletoviewhis/herscreen,mouseandkeyboard areautomaticallydisabled.
Theteachercan,inaddition,usetheremotecontrolkeytoremotecontrolaworkstationthathasbeen
activatedasasender.
Grouping
Underthe“comfort”version,participantscanbeassignedtooneofthreegroups.Thisiswhythefunctions
“forall”and“blanking” onlyrefertotheactivatedgroups,whichcanbeidentifiedbylightedkeys.
Whensupplied,alltheparticipantsareassignedtogroupA.

The "Clear" Function
Features
TheMKVisionplusstartconditionisrestored.
Alltheparticipantsaswellas theteacherseetheirownscreensandcanworkontheirownstations
withoutanyrestrictions.
Thefeatures“help”and“loadimage”are deactivated.
Procedure
Pressthe“clear”key.
Indicators
Oncethe “clear” key has been pressed, onlythe lamp in the “D” key (teacher)is on.
Principles
Allthecontrolfunctionsareshownstartingfromthisbasiccondition.

Features
Alltheparticipants(andtheteacher)viewthedisplayofoneparticularparticipant(orthatoftheteacher)
ontheirownscreens.
Procedure
Toselecta sender,touchthe requiredkeyin thecontrolpanel. Iftheteacher istobe thesender,selection
canalternativelybemadebysimplypressingthe“clear”key.
Then press “for all”.
Todeactivate,againpress the “forall”key(the selected senderismaintained), or the “clear”key(the
teacherisactivatedagainasthesender).
Indicators
The lamps of the selected sender and the “for all” key are on.
Principle
The “for all” key is an independent On / Off switch, which makes all the workstations receivers at one
stroke(exceptforthe sender selectedatthat moment). Anyselectionpreviouslymade will remain
unaffected(cf.“participantviewsparticipant’simage”).Aslongasthe“forall”featureisactive,allthe
otherfeaturesoftheMKVisionpluskeyboardremaindisabled.
Withthe“comfort”version, the display isonlysent to the membersoftheactive groups. Thismeansthatin
thiscase the groups that are to view the display may be defined before activating the featureby means
of the “for all” key.

Inboththe“classic”and“comfort”versions,themiceandkeyboardsofallcomputers (receivers)will,with
theonlyexceptionofthesender,automaticallybelockedwheneverparticipantscannotviewtheirown
display.Thelockis released by deactivatingthe“forall” feature orbypressingthe “clear” key.

Features
Teacherviewstheimageofaselectedparticipantonhis/herscreen;theparticipantscontinuetoview
theirownscreenimage.
Procedure
Press"clear",
thenselectsenderbymomentarilytouching
therelevantkey(intendedparticipant)inthecontrolpanel.
Theteacherautomaticallybecomesthereceiver.Todeactivate,simplypress„clear“again.
Optionallypressthe"remotecontrol"keyinaddition(theparticipant’scomputerisunderremotecontrol
fromtheteacher’spanel).
Indicators
Thepilotlampofthesenderselected(participant)islighted,thatofthereceiver(teacher)flashes.
Note:
Oncethe feature “Teacher views participant’s image” has been activated,the keysfor otherparticipants
canbepressed(withoutholding,etc.)toviewadditionalworkstations.

MouseandKeyboardRemoteControl
IfunderyourMKVisionplus miceandkeyboardsarenetworked,youmayadditionallycontrolthemouse
andkeyboardoftheparticipant,whosescreenyouview,fromyourownworkstation.Forthatpurposejust
additionallypress“remotecontrol”,thusautomaticallylockingtheparticipant’smouseandkeyboard.Using
“Remotecontrol”,thisfeaturecanbeactivatedanddeactivatedasrequiredtointeractivelysolveany
problemstheparticipantmayhave.
Activeremotecontrolisindicatedbythepilotlampinthe“remotecontrol”key.
Procedure
Press"remotecontrol"
Todeactivate,press„remotecontrol“againoractuate„clear“.
Note:
Mouseandkeyboardremotecontrolcanbeactivatedonly
-ifthestationin charge of remotecontrolisviewing the participant’s screen
-in the station-to-station transmission mode,if just one sender andone receiverhave been activated
Oncethe remote control key has been activated, the keys for other participants can be pressed to remote

Features
Oneorseveral selected participantsview the teacher’simage on theirmonitors; the teacherviews his/
herownscreenimage.
Procedure
-Press and hold key “D”
-press one orseveral participant keys
- release “D”
-Deactivatebyjustactuating“Clear”.
Indicators
Thepilotlampoftheselectedsender(teacher)islighted,thoseofthereceivers(participants)flash.
Principles
Whenpressingandholdingoneparticipantkeyorthe“D”key,normallytheworkstationkeptpressed
becomesthe sender, while the stationsselected as a next stepare defined as receivers.
Additionalreceivers may beadded in thesame way.
To“exclude” specific receivers, just press their keys again. This can only bedone after key “D” has been
released.
UnderMKVision „comfort“ the teacher may have his/her computer remote
controlledbyoneoftheparticipants.Todoso,establishaconnection
withoneoftheparticipants(seeabove),thenadditionallypress
„Remotecontrol“.Nowmoreparticipantscanbeconnected.

Features
ThePCsofallparticipants/activegroupsareblanked,theteacherandtheparticipantsofthenon-active
groupscontinuetoviewtheirownscreenimages.
Procedure
Pressthekey“blanking”
Todeactivate,againpressthe“blanking”key,or“clear”.
Indicators
Pilotlampinthe“blanking”key.
ShouldyourMKVisionpluspermitmouseandkeyboardnetworking,themiceandkeyboardsof all
participantcomputerswillautomaticallybelocked.Theteachercanproceedasrequired.Toreleasethe
lock,deactivatetheblankingfeature,or pressthe“clear”key.
Iftheteachershould have remote controlledoneofthe workstations before activatingthisfeature, remote
controlwillremainactive.Thisallowstheteachertoremotecontroltheparticipant’scomputerwithoutthe
participantviewinghis/herscreen.

Individual Access to Sender
Theteachermaysingleoutanyimage(e.g.forillustrationpurposes)forindividualretrievalbythe
participants.Bymeansofthe„loadimage“key,whichisinstalledinalltheparticipantworkstations,each
participantmayviewthisimage.
Features
The“loadimage”key(lassofunction)allowstheparticipantstoindividually
viewontheir own screens animage selected by theteacher. All that
is needed is the stroke of a key, without the teacher having to become
activeagain.Thekeyisachangeoverswitch,anLEDsignallingthe
activatedstate.
Procedure
Selectsenderbymomentarilytouchingtherequiredkey(normallyandfollowing“clear”thisisthe
teacher’sstation).Releaseaccessbypressingthe“senderismaintained”key.
Toendaccess,againactuate“senderismaintained”,orpress“Clear”(teacheragainbecomesthe
sender).
Indicators
Asaccess is released,the pilot lampin the key“sender ismaintained” lights upas well asthat of the
senderselected.
Principles
The key “sender is maintained” has an ON/OFF feature; it may be activated or deactivated at any time.
Whenactivatedorfollowingreset,the“individualaccess”featureisdeactivated.

Automatic Participant PC Scanning
Features
Theteacherissuccessivelyshownthescreenimagesofalltheworkstations. Since in thiscasenoother
MKVisionplus features need to be operated, this is a very convenient way forthe teacher to keep track
oftheprogressmadeattheparticipants’workstationsandtoimmediatelyinterveneifthereareany
problems.
Procedure
Press“scan”key.
Deactivatebypressingthe“clear”key.
“scan”mayalsobepressedagaintodeactivatethisfeature. Theteacherwillinthiscase,however,
continuetoviewtheparticipantscreenlastdisplayed.
Indicators
Pilotlampinthe“scan”keyison.
Programmingthe scan time
Keepthe“scan”keypresseduntilitstartstoflash.
Pressthe group keys A, B, C
to set a scan time of 2, 4 or 8 seconds.
Use“clear” to confirmand end programming (press the“clear” key
tobrieflyhavethescantimesetdisplayed).
Thegroup keys areused to setthe scanintervals:
2 sec (group key A), 4 sec (group key B), or 8 sec (group key C)
