Background information
There are minerals such as calcium and magnesium naturally
present in most water supplies. High count of solids is referred to
as hard water.
Scale is the sediment boiled out of the water that eventually
coats the internal brewing components of any coffee or espresso
machine.
Descaling is critical to the long life of the product. In areas with
known high mineral content it’s important to descale about once
per month. Otherwise every 3-4 months is adequate.
Mix 0.5 liter water with descaler sachet in a
measuring cup.
Pour descaling solution into water tank and
insert water tank to machine.
Press hot water button.
Bar display begins to count down.
Machine descales in start-stop operation for
approx. 2 min.
Call NESCAFÉ DOLCE GUSTO Hotline
or go on the NESCAFÉ DOLCE GUSTO
website. For Hotline numbers check
the last page of this User Manual.
Open locking handle and check if capsule
holder is empty. Close locking handle again.
Place capsule bin under outlet.
The bar display and power button are blinking
green during 2 minutes at the end of the des-
caling cycle.
Switch offmachine.
Press and hold power button for at least 5sec-
onds. Power button starts blinking green and
machine enters the descaling mode.
Empty capsule bin.
Rinse and clean water tank thoroughly.
Fill water tank with fresh, drinking water up to
max. level.
