read the precautionary statements of the chemical cleaning
cloth before using.
Regarding condensation
During the winter or cool seasons, condensation may form
inside the player if it is brought into a warm room from
outside or other cold location, or if the temperature of the
room where the player is installed is raised too quickly. When
condensation forms inside the player, it may not operate
properly or at all. In this event, turn on the unit’s power and
allow it to stand for 1 to 2 hours so that the condensation
evaporates as the player acclimatizes to the room’s
temperature, and the unit will become playable again.
Condensation may also form in the summer if a room’s air
conditioner is directed directly at the TAD-D1000MK2. In
this event, change the location of the player away from the
airstream of the air conditioner.
CAUTION
The line output volume of the unit is set to the default value (30) by factory default.
When using the line output volume function of the product and directly connecting to a power amplifier, be sure to make
the connection only after setting the volume to “0” (zero).
(1) Press the <VOL − button> on the unit to decrease the line output volume.
(2) Press the <VOL − button> again to set it to “0” (zero).
If a direct connection to a power amplifier is made with the line output volume set high, an excessively loud sound may be
produced and the speakers or your hearing may be damaged.

INTRODUCTION
Inspiring the joy of listening
Technical Audio Devices Laboratories, Inc. (TADL) grew from the spirit to discover technologies to perfectly recreate the pure
sound of live performances with uncompromising craftsmanship. We have inherited our philosophy from Bart Locanthi—
recognized across the globe as the ultimate sound technologist—who believed that genuine technology is true to the basics
and that genuine technology places greater importance on sound quality than on technology for its own sake.
At TADL, we are honing our technology to create equipment that reproduces musical sounds that evoke both the energy and
impact of live music.
Features
Ultra-high C/N* ratio Master Clock featuring UPCG**
Reduction of the total amount of master clock jitter has been previously suggested as a means of attaining even higher levels
of sound quality, TAD Labs has taken this a step further, focusing on reduction of jitter in the low-frequency sideband ranges
relative to the center frequencies, and to that end, a new Ultra-high-Precision Crystal Generator (UPCG) has been developed.
Based on technologies developed for high-speed digital base-station relay facilities, the master clock with its dedicated
oscillators and high-purity conductivity deliver the ultimate performance demanded by a CD player, allowing it to reproduce to
perfection the signals engraved on the disc.
*C/N: Carrier-to-Noise ratio
**UPCG: Ultra-high-Precision Crystal Generator
Twin Differential D/A Converters
Twin Burr-Brown digital-audio converters are connected in parallel for improved audio performance in all metrics, including S/
N ratio, linearity, dynamic range, and distortion. These features allow even delicate audio signals to be played back faithfully,
creating a greater degree of breadth in musical reproduction.
Power unit
The TAD-D1000MK2 features large independent proprietary toroidal transformers in the analog and digital sections, allowing
each and every signal to be followed with high response, thus realizing both powerful performance and low noise.
TAD-D1000MK2 has further reduced the impedance of the power circuit.
The reduced impedance of the power source ensures smooth power supply. Thus more powerful and fluid sound can be
achieved.
High-Rigidity Construction with Low Center of Gravity
Placement of the massive heavy base has been designed to lower the center of gravity, thus further reducing vibrations. These
design elements have made it possible to reproduce music signals with great stability while avoiding the vibration caused by
speaker pressure and other sources.
DAC Mode
With its high-precision D/A converters and high-purity master clock oscillators, the TAD-D1000MK2 demonstrates equally
high performance as a D/A converter unit. The sampling rate converter and ultra-high-purity master clock execute reclocking
with highly precise D/A conversion.
USB
With the USB input, PCM signals are supported up to a maximum sampling rate of 384 kHz, and maximum 32 bits, while also
supporting DSD signals’ DoP format transmission (maximum sampling rate depends on combination with Mac OS).
Line output volume
Line output volume is available to allow you to just connect a power amplifier to configure a simple system.
ISO (isolation) mount technology
TAD-D1000MK2 newly adopted an insulator with a spike structure following it of the Reference series.
It controls vibration more effectively.
Experience the fusion of the sound image and sound field at a high level that is achieved by the excellent resolution.

General
'Hold discs by the edge or by the center hole and edge.
'When you’re not using a disc, return it to its case and store upright. Avoid leaving discs in excessively cold,
humid, or hot environments (including under direct sunlight).
'Don’t glue paper or put stickers on to discs. Do not use a pencil, ball-point pen or other sharp-tipped writing
instrument to write on the disc.
'Don’t use self-adhesive disc labels on discs as these can cause the disc to warp slightly during playback causing distortion
in the sound.
Damaged and shaped discs
'Do not use cracked, chipped, warped, or otherwise damaged discs as they may damage the player.
'This player is designed to be used only with conventional, fully circular discs. Do not use shaped discs.
TAD disclaims all liability arising in connection with the use of shaped discs.
Cleaning discs
'Fingerprints and dust on discs can affect playback performance. Clean using a soft, dry cloth, wiping the
disc lightly from the center to the outside edge as shown below.
'If necessary, use a cloth soaked in alcohol, or a commercially available CD/DVD cleaning kit to clean a
disc more thoroughly. Never use benzine, thinner or other cleaning agents, including products designed
for cleaning vinyl records.
Cleaning the pickup lens
'The player’s lens should not become dirty in normal use, but if for some reason it should malfunction due to dust or dirt,
consult your dealer. We do not recommend using commercially available lens cleaners for CD players.
Always load discs
with the printed or
label surface facing up.
