1. Description
This insect killer is designed to attract mosquitos,
flies, moths and similar insects through ultraviolet
light, and to kill them through electric shock when
touching the high voltage loaded grid.
The appliance is not intended for any commercial or
industrial use.
Do not use the appliance for other purposes. Any
other use might lead to damage of the appliance or
personal injury.

1. This appliance can be used
by children aged from 8 years
and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of
experience and knowledge
if they have been given
supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance
in a safe way and understand
the hazards involved.
2. Children shall not play with the
appliance.
3. Cleaning and user maintenance
shall not be made by children
without supervision.
4. The appliance is to be kept out
of reach of children.
5. Regularly check the power plug
and power cord for damage. If
the supply cord is damaged,
it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent
or similarly qualified persons in
order to avoid a hazard.
6. This appliance is not suitable
for use in barns, stables and
similar locations.
7. The appliance is not to be used
in locations where flammable
vapour or explosive dust is
likely to exist.
8. Clean the appliance regularly
as described in this manual.
9. Always switch off and
disconnect the appliance from
the power supply and wait at
least 1 minute for the electrical

load to be discharged before
touching the appliance for
cleaning, emptying the
collecting tray, etc.
10. WARNING! The lamps in this
appliance cannot be replaced.
Scrap the appliance when the
lamps cease to operate.
11. Do not remove the guard.
12. Never use the appliance with a
damaged guard.
13. Do not install the appliance
near combustible materials,
such as curtains.
14. Never put metal objects inside
the grids while the appliance is
operating.
15. When hanging the appliance
up, make sure the hook it is
attached to is able to hold the
weight of the appliance. When
placing it on a surface, make
sure the surface is stable and
levelled.
16. WARNING! Misuse may lead
to injury. Use this appliance
solely in accordance with these
instructions. Do not attempt to
modify the appliance in any way.
17. Danger of electric shock!
Do not attempt to repair
the appliance yourself. In
case of malfunction, repairs are
to be conducted by qualified
personnel only.
18. Do not pull the power plug out
of the electrical outlet by the
power cord and do not wrap
the power cord around the
appliance.
19. Protect the appliance, its power
cord and power plug against
dust, direct sunlight, dripping
and splashing water.
20. Let the appliance dry
completely before connecting it
to the mains supply and before
storage. Allow the appliance
to cool to room temperature
before storage.
21. Store the appliance in a cool,
dry place, protected from
moisture and out of the reach of
children.
22. Never use accessories which
are not recommended by the
manufacturer. They could pose
a safety risk to the user and
might damage the appliance.
Only use original parts and
accessories.
23. Connect the mains plug to an
easily accessible socket, in
order to quickly disconnect the
appliance from the mains supply
in an emergency. Pull the mains
plug out of the socket in order
to disconnect the appliance
completely. Use the mains plug
as a disconnection device.
24. If you use an extension cord or
a multi-socket unit, it must have
an appropriate power rating.
25. Always switch off the appliance
before disconnecting the power
plug.
26. Do not try to move the
appliance while it is operating.

27. This appliance is intended for
household use only.
28. If the power cord should
overheat, stop using the
appliance and disconnect the
appliance from the electrical
outlet.
Electrical safety
1. Ensure the rated voltage shown
on the rating label corresponds
with the voltage of the power
supply.
2. Do not operate any appliance
with a damaged power cord
or plug, when the appliance
malfunctions or has been
damaged in any manner.
3. Protect the power cord against
damages. Do not let it hang
over sharp edges, do not
squeeze or bend it. Keep the
power cord away from hot
surfaces and open flames and
ensure that nobody can pull on
or trip over it unintentionally.
4. Do not open the housing under
any circumstances. Do not
insert fingers or foreign objects
in any opening of the appliance
and do not obstruct the air
vents.
5. Protect the appliance against
heat. Do not place close to
open flames or heat sources
such as stoves or heating
appliances.
3. Installation
• Hang the appliance up or place it on a stable and
levelled surface at least 2 m off the ground and
out of reach of children. Ensure your place of
choice can carry the weight without damage or
material failure.
• Preferably choose a location protected from other
light sources, as these may impair the insects’
interest for the appliance.
• Avoid exposing the appliance to a draft, as this
may help insects to escape.
4. Cleaning and Care
• Before cleaning, always switch off and unplug
the appliance and wait at least 1 minute for the
electric load to be discharged.
• Do not clean the appliance with steel wool, strong
chemicals, alkaline, abrasive or disinfecting
agents, as they may damage the surface of the
appliance.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water or other
liquids to clean it. Make sure that the electrical
parts of the appliance do not become wet or
damp.
• Clean the body with a soft damp cloth and, if
necessary, a little mild detergent. Wipe with a dry
and soft cloth.
• Regularly remove insect remains from the guard
(5) and empty the insect collecting tray (8).
• Brush out the housing, guard (5) and insect
collecting tray (8) with a soft brush.
• Frequency of cleaning is dependent on the
amount of insects in your home and the frequency
of use.
• The appliance may only be used again or stored
after it is dried completely.
5. Disposal
Environmental Protection
Discarded electric appliances are
recyclable and should not be discarded
in the domestic waste! Please actively
support us in conserving resources and
protecting the environment by returning
this appliance to the collection centres.
Dispose of packaging in accordance to
applicable legal regulations.

6. Warranty
A statutory warranty applies for this product.
Damages caused by wrong treatment or operation,
by false placement or storage, improper connection
or installation, as well as force or other external
influences are not covered by this warranty. We
recommend careful reading of the operating
instructions as it contains important information.
Note:
1. In case this product does not function correctly,
please firstly check if there are other reasons, e.g.
for electrical appliances interruption of the power
supply, or generally incorrect handling are the
cause.
2. Please note that, where possible, the following
documents or rather information should be
provided together with your faulty product:
− Purchase receipt
− Model description/Type/Brand
− Describe the fault and problem as detailed as
possible
In the case of a claim for guarantee or defects,
please contact the seller.
For products bought at METRO Cash & Carry India,
a local warranty of two years after purchase date
applies instead of the above mentioned statutory
warranty.
