hey!
may we
introduce
– your Baiosphere.
Congratulations!
Now you are the proud owner of a living
light, of an unique biotope, which almost
completely cares for itself.
With this living light you can place the wild
Amazon, a mysterious marshland or the
silent desert oasis directly in your home.
On the following pages, we have
summarized a few helpful hints and some
technical information that you may read
before you get started.
     
that‘s why your
baiosphere works
so well :
Adjust the lighting to suit
your personal feel-good
atmosphere. No matter if
warm and dimmed as a
fall-asleep-light or as a
bright sunrise to wake up.
Two Controllers,
your Light
Light Intensity
Adjust the brightness -
always tting to your
mood.
Light Temperature
Find your temperature -
cozy evenings guaranteed.
Just connect your
Baiosphere anywhere.
Micro-USB to USB
(cable length 2m).
Not only saves stress, but
also energy.

The size of the aeration
slots can be adjusted by
rotating. Thus you can
control the perfect humid-
ity inside.
The Aeration

>
Made with love and accu-
racy. The glass container of
the Baiosphere consists of
individually handmade and
hand blown glass.
Due to this traditional way
of crafting, each glass is
sort of an individual item.
Therefore it is normal that
you may nd tiny imper-
fections like air bubbles in
the glass.
The Glass
>
The light of our full-spec-
trum LEDs acts as a small,
articial sun above your
biotope. These LEDs come
closest to natural sunlight.
The perfect
Lighting
There is always a balanced
microclimate in the
Baiosphere, perfect for
exotic plants.
Via the light controllers
and the aeration slots you
can adjust the humidity
and temperature according
to the needs of your
biotope.
An optimal
Microclimate
Moisture stays in the
Baiosphere for a very long
time, because the evaporat-
ed water runs back via the
pane. That‘s why you only
have to water it so rarely.
Always enough
Water
It‘s not rocket
science. Every-
thing your green
atmates need is
always available.
    
1 – handling
  
ONE
TWO
create your own
baiosphere in three
simple steps.
First things rst -
things you need.
Desert Oasis
Probably, the most
common way of planting
a Baiosphere is to create
a thicket of dierent
tropical plants.
> Plants
Plants like tillandsias, mini
orchids or dierent sorts of
moss are suited best.*
> Soil
Good rain forest soil is
loose and keeps the mois-
ture. In this way it supports
a strong root growth.
> Hardscape
Especially our Amazonas
Rocks or our driftwood
emphasizes the tropical
character of your
rainforest.
> Enough Soil
Choose the substrate
suitable for the biotope
you want to design.
> Expanded Clay Balls
as Drainage
Expanded clay serves
as a great drainage as
it absorbs the moisture
and releases it slowly
again. That’s why
theres always a perfect
soil climate in your
Baiosphere without
waterlogging.
> Plants of Your
Choice
Furthermore you may
choose your plants
according to the biotope
you want to design.
> Scaping Tools
You can try your best
with a long spoon and
barbecue tongs.
Ideally you use our
special Baiosphere
Scaping Tools to reach
even the remotest
corners of your biotope.
> Spray Bottle with
Water
Use soft (rain-) water to
keep the glass of your
Baiosphere clear.
Choose the
Biotope you’d like
to design.
Rainforest
The fascination of carni-
vorous plants on the
windowsill can usually only
be enjoyed only for a very
short time – not with the
Baiosphere!
> Plants
Plants like sundew, the
venus ytrap or peat moss
grow and thrive by the
unique microclimate.*
> Soil
Especially important is the
use of special acidic carniv-
orous soil, otherwise the
plants will do a bunk.
> Hardscape
Cleverly arranged,
branched wood, like our
Muddy-Moorwood, intensi-
es the unique atmosphere
of an apparently untouched
moor landscape.
* You can nd more species
in our plant directory on
page 20-21.
Marshland
A biotope where you can
discover the true idyll and
the incredible variety of
succulents.
> Plants
Desert and rock garden
plants such as the mistletoe
cactus, thick-leafed plants
or many dierent hawor-
thia variations oer almost
unlimited possibilities of
design.*
> Soil
Use only loose, high quality
succulent soil and not pure
sand. This would condense
the substrate too much and
lead to rot.
> Hardscape
Stones in dierent sizes,
like our Fata Morgana
Rocks, can be wonderfully
combined into miniature
mountain ranges and give
the desert an unique touch.
In the end, the Baiosphere
is similar to a shared at
just with plants.
That’s why it’s important
to choose them just
equally, as they probably
can occur together in
nature, so that every plant
has got similar needs.
Many plant
varieties, special
substrate mixtures,
fertilizer and also
various hardscape
for the design of
your Baiosphere
can be found in
our online shop!
2 – planting
    
THREENow we come
to the most
important part -
The design of your
Baiosphere.
First, ll the Baiosphere
2-3cm with the expanded
clay balls.
This layer is particularly
important to prevent
waterlogging. Besides you
can check the water level
through it.
The Drainage
>
Next, ll the respective
soil mixture into the
Baiosphere so that a slope
is formed. This way, the
design can be viewed a lot
better later.
Fill in Soil
Dig small holes where the
plants should grow and
plant them carefully.
Then cover the root ball
with soil. You should rather
place larger plants in the
background and smaller
plants in the foreground of
your creation.
Depending on what’s
easiest for you, put your
hardscape into the Baio-
sphere either before or
after planting.
Insert Plants and
Hardscape
Certainly, the glass has
become very dirty after
planting. Adjust your spray
bottle to the hard jet and
rinse o the dirt, then
leave the Baiosphere open
for a few hours.
Be thrifty with the water
at the desert oasis.
Water and Clean
>
>
>
Wow... And once
again a new biotope
sees the light of the
Baiosphere.
We always become
quite sentimental.
Send us photos of your
creation to:
mycrea[email protected]
or tag us on Instagram with
@baiosphere.
Now, just put the silicone
ring and the lamp on top
of the glass. Plug the lamp
into the power socket and
your customized
Baiosphere is ready!

    
you don’t need to
have a green thumb to
care for your biotope.
We promise!
ONE
Water and
Fertilize
> Less water is
usually more!
As you may have rea-
lized, no water can
leave from the
Baiosphere compared
to normal ower pots.
The right amount of
moisture can best be
checked through the
drainage layer.
> Please use only
soft water.
Ideally you use rain-
water. Otherwise, due
to the high chalk
content of tap water,
the glass would quickly
turn cloudy. Especially
plants from the marsh-
land biotope do not
tolerate hard water.
> Our watering recom-
mendations are only
rough guidelines.
Finally, every biotope is
individual. After a few
months, you’ll learn
how often you have to
water your Baiosphere.
Desert Oasis
Here you should never see
any water in the drainage
and the soil should never
be wet.
Water the succulents
only selective with a few
splashes about every four
to six weeks.
Only use specic cactus
fertilizer about every two
months.
Marshland
Check the drainage layer
every two weeks.
A thin lm of water inside
the drainage is perfect.
The Marshland biotope
needs no further nutrient
supply by fertilizing.
Rainforest
Water about once every
month. Stop watering if
you can see that the water
is slowly damming in the
drainage.
Fertilize this biotope about
every two months with a
weakened mineral fertilizer.
TWO
Create Day and
Night.
The light should shine
onto your plants for at
least 12 hours a day.
Best way to automate this
day-night cycle is to use a
timer.
Please do not expose
your Baiosphere to
direct sunlight
neither place it close
to a heater, otherwise
it’s going to get too
warm inside.

that‘s all you need

If you still have problems with your
Baiosphere, the following questions and
answers may help you.
If not, then we can personally assist you!

[email protected]
The fogging of the pane
occurs especially in a cold
environment and after
watering, which is
completely normal.
Open the vent slots or
leave the Baiosphere open
for a few hours to lower
the humidity.
The pane of your
Baiosphere is
fogging?
>
!
?
In this case, you denitely
watered too much.
Waterlogging leads to
root rot and harms your
inhabitants.
Try to drain excess water
slowly by gently tilting the
Baiosphere. Then do not
give water for a long time.
Most plants recover from
it.
The biotope smells
weird and the
plants wither?
>
!
?
That dead plant parts or
inserted wood begins
to mold is quite normal,
especially in the beginning.
The microclimate, which
degrades the mold, has not
yet developed.
Remove aected parts of
the plants so that the mold
does not spread further.
Ventilate the Baiosphere
and open the slots.
A brush works best to
get rid of coatings on
hardscape.
Mold is forming in
the Baiosphere?
>
!
?
The aected plants obvi-
ously do not get enough
light. This happens either
because of too dimmed
light or by insucient
illumination time.
Also a shady place under a
larger plant or large hard-
scape could be the reason.
Make sure the light stays
on for at least 12 hours
a day and turn up the
intensity if needed. If
the plant’s location is too
shady, better put it in a
brighter place or trim its
competitor.
Plants form long
weak stems?
