WARRANTY PROCEDURE v1.7b: July 2016 for 12M Replacement
Please read the owner’s manual carefully and ensure that you have followed the correct
installation and operating procedures.
1. Please read this warranty card.
2. Keep your purchase receipt to enable you to proceed quickly in the event of a Warranty
Service.
3. If you require Warranty Service, please contact the TEAC Warranty Service Hotline at
1300 553 315 for assistance. Please ensure that you have the model number, serial
number and purchase receipt ready when you call.

to have your claim processed.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian
Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for
compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also
entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable
quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
1. TEAC warrants that this product is free from defects in material and workmanship under normal
domestic use with reasonable care and skill. Maintenance and cleaning (i.e. laser head) is not
covered by this warranty. The TEAC warranty only applies to TEAC products purchased NEW
from a TEAC Authorised Retailer in Australia. This warranty only applies to the original purchaser
and cannot be transferred.
2. The benefits to the consumer given by this Warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies
of the consumer under a law in relation to goods or services to which the warranty relates, being
the Australian Consumer Law.
3. Refund or replacement via your TEAC Authorised Retailer is available for a period of 14 days
after purchase for goods that have been inspected and determined to have a major failure.
Refund and exchange is not applicable for change of mind.
4. Subject to the terms herein, this warranty effectively covers TEAC products under the 12 Month
Replacement Warranty Scheme, 12 months from the date of original purchase.
5. The warranty is void and warranty claims may be refused, subject to the Australian Consumer
Law, if:
a) The product was not transported, installed, operated or maintained according to manufacturer
instruction, or
b) The product was abused, damaged, tampered, altered or repaired by any unauthorised persons,
or
c) Product failure is due to accidents during use, installation or transit, power surges, use of
defective or incompatible external devices, exposure to abnormal conditions such as excessive
temperatures or humidity, or entry of liquids, objects or creatures into the product, cockroach
infestations, or
d) The customer is unable to provide proof of purchase of the product for verification, or
e) The serial number of the product is missing or has been tampered with.
6. No one is authorised to assume any liability on behalf of TEAC or impose any obligation on it, in
connection with the sale of any equipment other than as stated in this warranty and outlined
above.
7. TEAC and/or its Authorised Service Centres reserve the right to inspect and verify whether the
product is exhibiting a major failure as claimed by customers/retailers.

POWER SUPPLY
AC: 240V ~ 60 Hz
DC: 4x1.5V, battery type R14/ UM-2/”C” size (not provided)
For optimal performance, alkaline batteries are recommended. These batteries must be replaced every
six months.
1. Insert the plug of power cord into a standard wall outlet.
2. Install the batteries in their compartment. Use only the size and type of batteries specified. Respect the
polarity indicated in the compartment. Improper polarity can cause damage to the device. Do not attempt
to recharge the batteries, they can catch fire or explode. The batteries need to be replaced when: The
volume decreases, or sound is distorted during operation.
CAUTION: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the
same or equivalent type.
Note:
-The AC cord must be unplugged from the power outlet for the unit to run on the batteries.
- When the set is connected to the mains, the power source automatically switches to AC.
TURNING UNIT ON/OFF
1.Rotate the volume knob clockwise to turn on the unit, you will hear a “click” sound.
2.Rotate the volume knob counter-clockwise to turn off the unit, please make sure you hear a “click”
sound.
LISTENING TO THE RADIO
1. Turn on the radio by rotating the volume knob.
2. Use the band selector FM/AM to select band.
3. Use the tuning control to tune to your desired radio station.
4. Adjust the volume level.
To enhance radio reception ability:
FM: Extend the telescopic antenna.
AM: Rotate the unit horizontally for optimum reception.

USING HEADPHONES / EARPHONES (NOT INCLUDED)

HEADPHONE VOLUME WARNING
Connect earphones with the volume set low and increase it if required. Prolonged listening
through some earphones at high volume settings can result in hearing damage. When
headphones/earphones are connected, no sound will be emitted from the unit's speaker.
Caution: Avoid listening to sound at levels which may be harmful to your ears.
To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long
periods.

SAFTY INSTRUCTION
CAUTION: To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not open the device, there are no
serviceable parts inside for the user. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
The lightning with the arrow symbol in the triangle is a warning sign alerting the user to
"dangerous voltage" inside the unit.
The exclamation point in the triangle is a warning sign alerting the user of important instructions
accompanying the product.
The caution mark located at the back of unit.
IMPORTANT
- Use the apparatus in moderate climates.
-The Marking plate is located at the back of the device.
- Make sure to have a minimum distance of 5 cm around the unit for sufficient ventilation.

- Ensure that the ventilation openings are not covered with items such as newspapers, tablecloths,
blankets, curtains, etc.
- Do not place naked flame sources, such as lighted candles on the apparatus.
- Do not expose this appliance to dripping or splashing water.
- Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as glasses or vases on the device.
- Do not throw batteries into fire! Respect the environment when disposing of used batteries.
- Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or other similar heat sources.
- The power plug is used as a disconnect device and must be easily accessible. To be completely
disconnected from the power, the plug of the appliance should be disconnected completely. The socket
must not be obstructed and should be easily accessible during intended use.
- Under the influence of fast transient and / or electrostatic electric phenomenon, the product may
malfunction and the user must perform a power reset of the device
