One RS socket allows to use the RAMP function, that is available on RED One.
This function allows to change the framerate of the camera during shooting, either positive go-
ing: i.e. from 24 fps to higher framerate; or negative: i.e. from 24 to lower framerate.
•A pigtail cable must be connected from Red Lemo 4 poles front socket, named RAMP, to
the corresponding one on RED One camera. (Higher Lemo 4 poles socket).
•Camera software must be set to enable RAMP with Active Low signal: i.e. RAMP sig-
nal must be connected momentarily to GND.
•Any Remote control cable can be used to perform this function.
•RAMP must be set to ON-Event: it means that RAMP will be performed only when acti-
vated by the user, at the time required by D.o.P. Otherwise: RAMP set ON-Record,
Ramp will activate just after camera is switched-on (useless for most Movie purposes).
•Camera will perform RAMP, when the camera is already running. Afterward the camera
will be switched off, as usual, by the RUN or Remote switch.
•RAMP function is used only for special effects, so for most of the time the RS socket,
named RAMP is used as additional power output; for this reason it is not necessary to con-
nect the Red Lemo 4 poles pigtail cable from Splitter D-V Xp1 to RED One camera.
•In case of malfunctioning of one of the pigtail cables, they are interchangeable and can be
used as spare. Color coding is only for reference purpose.
D-V XP1 RED One Power splitter is manufactured in light alloy solid block, that makes of it a
sturdy piece of equipment: a fact that is very important, specially for Rental Houses.
At first use, just plug it onto Power camera socket, then lock it to RED One camera through
the right side 1/4W bolt, tightening it. You’ll get a very strong piece of equipment, not cumber-
some, without the need to dismantle it from the camera when not in use. I can stay fixed to the
RED One when the camera is back into the carrying case.
Many satisfied Customers have appreciated the features of this Splitter and won’t shoot any
longer with RED One camera without it.
