These operating instructions will help you to use your Boombox BT-X38 in the
correct and safe way, referred to in the following system or device.
The target group of this manual:

Read the instructions.All uses guidelines must be read before start device.
Keep the instructions for future use.
Attention, use and security guidelines must be respected.
The device must not be used near water or be put in contact with moisture.
Make sure has no liquid is spilled on device and device openings.
Move device carefully, avoid shocks.
Do not block the breakdown of the device outputs.
Do not place the device near from a heat source (e.g. radiator). Do not
expose it to the Sun.
Plug the device in as indicate in this user manual.
This device has a connection with overload protection (security device). If
the replacement of decision-making is required, please you send has an
experienced or the device manufacturer technician.
For cleaning the device, please follow the recommendations of the notice.
The sector cord should be unplugged a long period of use.
Device shall be repaired by a qualified person when:
the taken or the power cord is damaged,
objects have fallen into the apparatus or a liquid has been spilled into
device,
device was exposes to the rain,
device does not work correctly without notable exterior change,
device fell and the subwoofer is broken.
The user shall not try to maintain device beyond that which is described in
this information form. The guarantee would negate.
The power consumption in standby / off mode was 0.3 Watt of this product
The sequence of events leading to the condition where the equipment
automatically changes modes; CD mode is selected, but no any disc in the CD
ROM; CD mode is selected, and then playback paused or finished; AUX in
mode is selected, but no any external device connected; AUX in mode is
selected, and then playback paused or finished.
When there was no music playback around 10 minutes, device will switched
into the standby / off mode automatically. To restart, press and hold the
Play/Pause/Power button (10) for about 5 seconds.

Reset note
In rare cases, it may happen that the software of the device "freezes" and the
device no longer on an Operation. In this case please proceed as followed:
Switch off the device
Unplug the mains plug from the socket
Wait a short time
Plug the mains plug into the socket
Switch on the appliance. The system memory is reset and the device is ready
for operation again.

Precautions for use
Installation
Unpack all parts and remove protective material.
Do not connect the device to the mains before checking the main voltage
and before all other connections have been made.
Do not cover any vents and make sure that there is a space of several
centimetres at the back of the device for ventilation.
How to prepare the appliance for operation
AC connection
Connect the one end of the detachable power cord to the AC power
connector (23) and the other end to the AC outlet. Mains operation: Remove
the batteries to preserve them and protect the device against leaking battery
acid.
Improve the antenna reception
The number and quality of the stations to be received depends on the
reception conditions at the installation site.
With the FM telescopic antenna (15), a useful reception can be obtained.
This antenna has to be adjusted in full length for the best reception.
Battery complartment
First, turn the device so that you can open
the battery compartment (19) at the bottom.
Second, for mains independent operation,
you need six alkaline batteries, type UM-2,
1.5V, C (not included, non rechargeable!).
Make sure that the polarity is correct when
inserting. See graphic on the right and in
battery compartment.
Thrid, close the battery compartment cover
again carefully, so that the locking tabs of the
cover engage into the housing.
Forth, unplug the AC power connector (23)
during operation with battery.

Connecting an external sound source
You can play the sound of an external device B (e.g. MP3 player) via the
speakers of the device.
First, connect an audio cable* (3.5mm jack, *not included) of the audio output
of your external device to the AUX-IN connector (18).
Second, turn the device on. Slide the function switch (22) to CD/AUX.
Third, adjust the volume on both devices. Start playback of the external
source.
General device functions:
How to turn the device on
First, press and hold the Play/Pause/Power button (10) for about 5 seconds to
turn on the device.
Second, slide the function selector (22) to the desired mode for operation.
How to set the source
First, slide the function selector (22) to select Radio/BT or USB or CD/AUX.
Second, for selecting between Radio and Bluetooth use the selector (17).
Function selector (22) on Radio/BT and selector (17) on FM. The device will
automatically start with radio playback after turning on the device.
In CD/AUX position the CD starts spinning and the music is read. If AUX-IN
cable is inserted to AUX-IN connector (18) CD will not be played.
Function selector (22) on Radio/BT and selector (17) on BT. The device
activates Bluetooth.

How to set the volume
Turn the volume knob to higher or lower the volume.
How to turn the device off
Press and hold the Play/Pause/Power button (10) for about 5 seconds to turn
off the device. The device will automatically switch off after about 10
minutes without music playback or operation. To restart, press and hold the
Play/Pause/Power button (10) for about 5 seconds.
Radio mode
Attention: The device will receive VHF (FM) at 88–108MHz.
Switch to FM using selector (17).
When you adjust FM, you may have to adjust the telescopic antenna (16) to
improve reception. Pull out to full length!
How to set a station
First, press and hold the Play/Pause/Power button (10) for about 5 seconds to
turn on the device.
Second, slide the function selector (22) to select Radio/BT mode and switch
to the FM mode for the FM/Bluetooth selector (17).
Thrid, turn the tuning knob (16) to set the station frequency as desired.
This changes the reception frequency step by step upwards or downwards.
Forth, adjust volume knob (21) to the desired volume level.
CD player mode
General notes on CDs
The device is suitable for music CDs recorded with audio data (CD-DA for
CD-R). Multisession CDs cannot be read.
When you burn CD-R with audio data, you may experience various problems
that sometimes interfere with interference-free playback. This is caused by
incorrect software and hardware settings or the blank used.

Note:
When you make audio CDs, you are aware of the legal basis and do not
violate the copyrights of third parties. Always keep the disc tray closed to
prevent dust from accumulating on the laser optics. The device can play
normal audio CDs (CD-DA).
Other file extensions, e.g. * .doc, * .txt, * .pdf, * .mp3, etc. are not supported.
Music files or playlists with the extensions * .AAC, * .DLF, * .M3U and * .PLS or
* .mp3 cannot be played back. If the tracks / files are defective, the next track /
file is played. It is an advantage to burn the CD at low speed and set the CD as
a single session and finalized.
How to operate the CD player
Which CD you can use
The CD player is compatible with CD, CD-R, CD-RW media. You can play all
the discs mentioned here with this device without an adapter.
Do not play any other media such as DVDs, etc.
When you are transporting the device, remove the disc from the drive. This
prevents damage to the CD player and the disc.
How to insert a CD
Before using for the first time: Remove the transport protection from the CD
compartment. Set selector (22) to CD/AUX. After that, insert a CD: lift the CD
lid (9) with OPEN / CLOSE up. The display shows “00”. The lid opens upwards.
The lid must not be obstructed.
Note:
When the CD compartment is open, make sure that no foreign objects can
enter the device. The lens of the laser scanner must never be touched.
Open the CD compartment only when the CD is at standstill.
Carefully insert the CD with the printed side facing upwards and press it
onto the holder lock. Make sure the CD is not tilted.
Close the disc tray. The CD is read. After the read-in process has been
completed, press Play/Pause/Power button (10) to start the first track. The
current track number appears.

Note:
If no CD is inserted, "No" appears in the display after a short time.
Wait until the CD contents have been read completely to ensure that all the
information you need has been read from the CD.
How to remove a CD
To remove the CD, first stop playback with the STOP button (2), open
the CD lid (9) and remove the CD from the edges.
Start playback
Slide function selector (22) to select CD/AUX-IN mode.
Press and hold the Play/Pause/Power button (10) for about 5 seconds to
turn on the device.
The LED display (1) will light up. Open the CD lid(9)
Place a CD with the printed side facing up inside the tray and then close the
CD lid.
Focus search is performing; the LED display (1) will show the total number
of tracks.
Play / pause mode
Press the Play/Pause button (10) to start playback, the first track will
start playback and the Play/Pause Indicator (7) will light up.
You can briefly interrupt and resume playback by pressing the Play/Pause
button (10) once. The Play/Pause Indicator (7) will flash. Pressing again
continues playback.
Stop mode
If Stop button (2) is pressed during Play/Pause mode, system will go to
stop mode and will show the total number of tracks on the LED display (1).

Skip mode (forwards / backwards )
During Play/Pause mode, if Skip up button (11) is pressed it will go to
next track. The display shows the track no. and the play or pause mode
continues.
During Play/Pause mode, if Skip down button (3) is pressed it will go
back to the beginning of the current. The display will still show the current
track no. and the Play/Pause mode continues.
After step 2, press Skip down button (3) again CD will skip to the
previous track and the Play/Pause mode continues.
Fast forward or backward search
You can perform a fast search forward or backward in the current title to
search for a particular location.
Press and hold Skip up (11) for fast forward, until you find the desired
location.
Press and hold Skip down (3) for fast reverse and hold down until you
find the desired location.
Release the button. Playback continues at this point
Repeat mode
Press the Repeat button (4) during playback to select repeat function, single
track or all the tracks can be repeated as followed:
Press the Repeat button (4) repeatedly to switch through the repeat
functions:
Press Repeat button (4) once to repeat the current track. The Repeat
indicator (8) flashes.
Press Repeat button (4) a second time to repeat the whole CD. The Repeat
indicator“(8) lights up steady.
After pressing the Repeat button (4) a third time Repeat indicator (8) turns
off.

CD programming
Up to 20 tacks can be programmed for disc play in any order. You can only
program when a disc is in the closed CD compartment and the device is in
stop mode. Before use, be sure to press the Stop button (2).
[1] Set in CD mode & stop the CD playback.
[2] Press the Prog. button (12), Prog. LED indicator (5) will flash.
[3] Select a desired track by pressing Skip up or down buttons
(11/3).
[4] Press the Prog. button (12) to store the track into memory.
Repeat steps [3] and [4] to enter additional tracks into the memory if
necessary.
When all the desired tracks have been programmed, press
Play/Pause/Power button (10) to play the song in assigned order.
Press the Stop button (2) to terminate programmed playback.
After program complete, press Prog. button (12) to review the tracks being
programmed.
Press Stop button (2) at CD stop mode again to cancel all programmed
memory until the Prog. LED indicator (5) disappears.
Note:
When you open the CD lid (9) or switch the selector (22) position, the
program memory is erased.
Pressing Stop button (2) twice also terminates the programming
Remark:
AUX-IN and CD are at the same position of function selector (22) CD/AUX.
When to AUX-IN socket (18) a 3.5mm stereo plug is plugged in, the channel
will change to AUX automatically and playback will stop to play. Ensure the
AUX-IN jack (18) is without plugged in 3.5mm stereo plug before playing CD.

Bluetooth mode
Connection
Slide the function selector (22) to Radio/BT mode and switch the
Radio/Bluetooth selector (17) to the BT-Mode.
Press and hold the Play/Pause/Power button (10) for about 5 seconds to
turn on the device.
The BT/USB-LED indicator (13) will flash in red colour, it means the BT in
pairing mode.
[5] Turn on the Bluetooth function of the BT device you want to link and
enable the search or scan function to find the BT-X38.
[6] Select "Technaxx BT-X38" from the BT device list when it appears on
your BT device screen. If required, enter the pass code “0000” to pair (link) the
device with your BT device.
[7] If you are pairing (linking) your computer to the speaker using Bluetooth,
you may need to set the device as your computer’s default sound device.
After successfully pairing the device with your BT device, a tone will be
heard. The BT/USB-LED Indicator (13) will stop flashing and remain lit in red
colour.
Start to playback on your BT device and enjoy the music by the main device.
If you want to connect the device to another enabled BT device after you’ve
already successfully paired to another BT device, turn off the Bluetooth on the
current BT devcie that was previously paired with the device. The BT/USB
LED indicator (11) will begin flashing, repeat steps [5] up to [7] above.
Note:
The device may automatically reconnect to a previously linked BT device that
is in range, so you may need to turn off the Bluetooth on any paired BT device
first before going through the above steps.

Playback
Wirelessly music playback via your Bluetooth device
Select your favourite song, press the Play/Pause on your BT device to play
or pause the song from your BT device.
Press the skip forward/skip backward on your BT device to select the Next
or Previous track.
Slowly adjust both the volume controls of the device and your BT device
until you reach a comfortable listening level.
AUX–IN mode
Connection & Playback
Connect the device to any auxiliary device (i.e. MP3 player, etc. (not included))
by connecting one end of 3.5mm stereo cable (not provided) to the AUX-IN
jack (18) at the rear of the device and the other end to the auxiliary device to
perform music.
Slide function selector (22) to select CD/AUX mode.
Press and hold the Play/Pause/Power button (10) for about 5 seconds to
turn on the device.
3.5mm stereo cable must be inserted to AUX-IN. The channel will switch to
AUX automatically.
Adjust Volume Knob (21) to the desire volume level. If the distortion was too
high, reduce the volume level of your auxiliary device. Start to playback your
device.
USB mode
Connection
The system is able to decode and playback MP3 files which are stored in the
memory of the USB drive. Use max. 32GB USB stick and format to FAT32.
Plug-in the USB drive and make sure it fits in completely. Connecting the
USB upside down or backwards could damage the audio system or the
storage media (USB drive). Check to be sure the direction is correct before
fitting it in.

Playback
Slide function selector (22) to select USB mode,
Press and hold the Play/Pause/Power button (10) for about 5 seconds to
turn on the device and the BT/USB indicator (13) will light up.
The system will start reading and playback the storage media automatically
after connecting, the BT/USB indicator (13) will flash during playback.
Press “Skip up ” button (11) or “Skip down ” button (3) to skip the track.
Press Play/Pause/Power button (10) to change to stop mode.
Remark:
The system can detect and read the file under MP3 format only at USB
mode but not other music file format.
Ensure to plug in the USB drive before turning on the device to ensure
proper reading of the USB. If the device did not start playback automatically,
switch to other mode and return to USB mode again.
If connect the system to MP3 player via the USB connection, due to
variances in MP3 encoding format, some MP3 player may not be able to play
via the USB connection. This is not a malfunction of the system.
USB port does not support connection with USB extension cable and is not
designed for communication with computer directly.
Disconnecting
To remove the USB drive, turn off the power then un-plug it by pulling it out of
the USB connection.

How to eliminate errors
If the device does not work as intended, check the following tables. If you
cannot solve the problem even after the described checks, please contact the
manufacturer.
Problems with the device
Symptom

Connect the power cord properly to the power

other device sends out interfering radio waves.
Remove the mobile phone or the device from
the vicinity of the device.

Unplug the power cord.
Leave the unit disconnected from the power
source for approx. 10 seconds.
Reconnect the unit or insert the batteries.
The display does not
turn on.
Turn on a device.
Unplug the mains plug, reinsert it, switch on the
device.

Problems with the CD player
Symptom
Possible cause / remedy
The disc does not play
or continues to play
during playback.
The unit is not in CD mode.
Incorrect CD inserted.
The disc tray is not closed. Close the disc tray.
CD is inserted incorrectly. Insert the CD with
the labelled side facing up. The CD must be well
centred in the CD compartment.
CD is dirty or defective. Clean CD, use
another CD.
Moisture in the CD compartment has evaporated.
Remove the CD and allow the CD tray to dry for
about 1 hour.
Playing time of the CD is more than 74 minutes.
The sound goes off.
Volume is set too high. Turn down the volume.
Disc is damaged or dirty. Cclean the disc or
replace it.
The unit is exposed to vibrations. Place the
unit in a low-vibration place.
Problems with the radio
Symptom

No radio transmitter is
received.
The unit is not in radio mode. Use selector (22
& 17) to switch to Radio/FM.
The sound is weak or
of poor quality.
Other devices, e.g. TV disturb the reception.
Place the radio / CD player further away from these

batteries with fresh ones.
The antenna is not extended or aligned. Pull
out the antenna. Rotate the antenna or the
device to improve reception.

Security and Disposal Hints for Batteries: Hold children off batteries.
When a child swallowed a battery go to a doctors place or bring the child
into a hospital promptly! Look for the right polarity (+) and (–) of batteries!
Always change all batteries. Never use old and new batteries or batteries of
different types together. Never short, open, deform or load up batteries!
Risk of injury! Never throw batteries into fire! Risk of explosion!
Hints for Environment Protection: Packages materials are raw materials
and can be recycled. Do not disposal old devices or batteries into the
domestic waste. Cleaning: Protect the device from contamination and
