theAmplifier(SE-HD560)through theTuner(ST-HD560). Whenrepairing thisequipmentor
checking operation ofthesystem, besuretoconnecttoothersystemcomponentswithit.
Powersupplyand operation checks inthestateofitas asingleequipmentisimpracticable.

3. Handling Precautions forTraverse Deck
Thelaserdiodeinthetraverse deck (optical pickup)may break downduetopotential difference
causedbystaticelectricityofclothes or humanbody.
Sobecareful ofelectrostaticbreakdownduring repairofthetraverse deck (optical pickup).

1. Donotsubject thetraverse deck (optical pickup)tostatic
electricityas itisextremelysensitivetoelectrical shock.
2. To protect thelaserdiodeagainst electrostaticbreakdown, short
theflexibleboard(FFCboard)withacliporsimilarobject. Referto
Fig. 3-1.
3. Take carenottoapplyexcessivestress totheflexibleboard(FFC
board).
4. Donotturnthevariableresistor(laserpoweradjustment). Ithas
alreadybeenadjusted. Referto Fig. 3-1.

7. ErrorCode Displayand ServoAdjustment Function
Thisunithas anerror codedisplay function, sothatiftheunitoperates incorrectly, thefaultis
displayedusing anerror codeon theFL display oftheTuner(ST-HD560). Italsohas aservo
adjustmentfunction for displaying thestatusofservosystem functions(Focus, Tracking, CLV
servo)on theFL display ofthetuner. Thesystem control ICand FL display arepartofthetuner
somake surethesystem has beenconnectedproperlybeforeusing these functions. Use these
twofunctionsfor guidanceduring faultdiagnosisand repair.

Check beforehand forscratching orsoiling ofthetest disc
