ALL PROGRAMS, PROCEDURES, RULES, DATA, AND/OR ROUTINES
IN OBJECT MACHINE READABLE LANGUAGE, WHICH INSTRUCT
THE OPERATION OF THE OJO OR WHICH MAY BE LOADED
INTO A COMPUTER FOR USE (COLLECTIVELY, “SOFT WARE”).
UPON ACCEPTANCE, THIS LICENCE WILL BE A LEGALLY BINDING
AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU AND WORLDGATE SERVICE, INC.
THE TERMS OF THIS LICENCE APPLY TO YOU AND TO ANY
SUBSEQU ENT USER OF T HIS SOF TWARE.
IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO ALL OF THE TERMS OF THIS LIC ENCE
(I) DO NOT INSTALL OR USE THE SOFTWARE AND (II) RETURN
THE OJO VIDEO PHONE AND THE SO FTWARE (COLLEC TIVELY,
“PRODU CT”), IN CLUDING AL L COMPONEN TS, DOCUMEN TATION,
AND ANY OTHER MATERIALS PROVIDED WITH THE PRODUCT, TO
YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER OR POINT OF PURCHASE FOR A FULL
REFUND (IF YOU PURCHASED THE PRODUCT ).
The Software includes associated media, any printed materials, and
any on line o r elect roni c docum enta tion. S oft ware p rovi ded by th ird
parties may be subject to separa te end-user licence agreements
from the manufacturers of such Software. This Licence shall also
apply to any updates, bug fixes, or newer versions of the software
provided by WorldGate for use with this produc t.
The Sof tware is never sold. WorldGate Service, Inc. licenses the
Software to the original customer and to any subsequent licencee
for personal use only on the terms of this Lice nce. WorldGate
Serv ice, Inc ., and it s third-par ty licensors retain the ownership of
the Sof tware and a re considere d third-par ty beneficiaries under this
Licence, with full right to enforce the obligations contained herein.
The Sof tware is protec ted by patents, copyright, and other
intellectual property laws and international treaty provisions. You
are hereby granted a personal, non-transferrable, nonexclusive,
revocable licence to use the Soft ware (without making any
modification thereto or copies thereof), solely as reasonably
required for your legal and p roper use of the Video Phon e, and
on the terms and conditio ns hereinafter set for th. Except for this
specific licence, no interest, right, or licence, express or implied, is
grante d in or to the S oftware, and all such other interest s, rights,
and lice nces are hereby re served by World Gate Ser vice, Inc., and
its licensors.
The Ojo Video Phone has been designed for use with a Video
Phone service such as the Ojo Video Phone s ervice provided by
Ojo Ser vice LLC ( “Ojo Ser vice”). If you decide to use the Ojo Video
Phone with any service or application not provided by Ojo Service,
you warrant and represent that you posse ss all required rights,
including required lice nces, to use the Ojo Video Phone with t he
non-Ojo service or application, and that the ser vice or application
is compatible with the Ojo Video Pho ne. You may not: (1) change
the electronic serial number or any equipment identifier associated
with the Ojo Video Phone; (2) loan, distribute, rent, lease, give,
sublicence, or otherwise transfer the Soft ware, in whole or in part ,
to any other person, sepa rate from the Product, and then only to a
person who agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions of this
Licence Agreement; (3) copy or translate the Users Guide included
with the Produc t, other than for p erson al use; (4) copy, translate,
disassemble, reverse-engineer, alter, modify, or tamper with the
Soft ware, including, but not limited to, modif ying the S oftware
to make it operate on non-compatib le hardware; (5) disassemble,
reverse-engineer, alte r, modify, or tamper with the Ojo Video
Phone or any security controls contained therein, without express
written permission f rom Ojo Service in each instance; (6) re move,
alter, or ca use not to be disp layed, any copy right notice s or start-up
message contained in the Soft ware pro grams or documentation;
and (7) ex port the So ftware or t he Product c omponent s in violatio n
of any United States e xpor t laws.
The Pro duct is not desi gned or intend ed for use in on- line control o f
aircraft, air traffic, aircraft navigation or aircraft communications;
or in design, construction, operation, or maintenance of any
nuclear facility. WORLDGATE AND ITS TH IRD- PARTY LIC ENSORS
DISCLAIM ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR
SUCH USES. YOU REPRESENT AND WARRANT THAT YOU SHALL
NOT USE THE PRODUCT FOR SUCH PURPOSES.
You acknowledge and understand that the Ojo Video Phone may
not function in t he event of p ower failure or a failure of your
communicatio n netwo rk. A power or net work failure may also
require a reset or reconfiguration of the Ojo Video Phone.
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTAND THAT THE OJO VIDEO
PHONE MAY PERMIT PARTIES TO A CALL TO CAPTURE AND STORE
INFORMATION RELATED TO A CALL, SUCH AS THE APPLICABLE
CALLED OR CALLING PARTY IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION.
SOME OF THIS DATA MAY BE STORED AND USED, FOR EXAMPLE,
AS PART OF AN ADDRESS BOOK, VOICE AND VIDEO MESSAG ING
APPLICATIONS, AND OTHER USES DISCUSSED IN THE USER GUIDE
FOR THE OJO V IDEO PHONE. IF YOU DO NOT WISH YOUR IMAGE
AND/OR VOICE TO BE CAPTURED, YOU CAN USE THE VIDEO
PRIVACY AND AUDIO MUT E FEATURES CONTAINED WITHIN THE
OJO VIDEO PHONE. PLEASE REFER TO THE OJO PRIVACY POLI CY

Your Ojo Video Phone is connected to and uses public
communication networks in order to transmit communications.
You acknowledge and agree that these networks may be subject
to secur ity breaches that are outside of a ny reaso nable control
by Ojo or anyone else. For exa mple, you may recei ve call s from
third parties w ho have received your number from unauthorised
source s or who call you by accident or through methods such as
random telephone numbers generation. Some of these incoming
calls may be undesired and/or may contain content which may
be objectionable or improper. Although we endeavour to prohibit
the improper use of the Ojo Video Phone through our licences and
other ag reements with our users, current communication net work
technology cannot necessarily predict or prevent such calls or
other wise prevent securit y breaches.
In order for you to be provided w ith the most current features
and Sof tware available for the Ojo Video Phone, the Ojo Video
Phone has been co nfigured to permit automatic downloads of
the late st software. Any obligation to p rovide such down loads is ,
however, ex pressly disclaimed, a nd to the extent any downloads
are performed they will be performed solely at the discretion of Ojo
Ser vice. If Ojo elec ts to provide su ch downlo ads, we will ende avour
to conduct the downloads during non-p eak hours and otherwise in
a manner to minimise any disruption of your use of the Ojo Video
Phone; however, no assurance can be made that such downloads
will not result in an interruption of your communication network
and your a bility to make and /or receive calls as discussed above.
You acknowledge and understand that Ojo Service and WorldGate
Service, Inc. disclaim any and all liability associated wit h the above
matters, and yo u agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless
Ojo Ser vice, WorldG ate Service , Inc., our af filiates and distribution/
infrastruc ture partners, and our and their officers, directors,
employees, affiliates, an d agent s from any a nd all cl aims, losses,
damages, fi
nes, penalties, costs, and expenses (including, without
limitation, reasonab le attorneys’ fees) arising from yo ur breac h of

This Licence and your rights regarding any matter it addresses
are gover ned by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,
without reference to conflict of law s principles. THIS LICENCE
SHALL TERMINATE AUTOMATICALLY if you fail to comply with the
terms of t his Licence.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
When using OjoTM, follow these safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock,
and injury to persons or property:
1. Keep all vents and openings of the phone unblocked. Do not set the phone on a heating register
or over a radiator. Ensure that proper ventilation is provided at the installation site.
2. Do not use while wet or while standing in water.
3. Do not use this product near water (for example, near a bath tub, kitchen sink, or swimming pool).
4. Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord. Place the power cord so that it will not be walked on.
5. Never insert objects of any kind into the product vents.
6. Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners.
Use a damp cloth for cleaning.
7. Do not disassemble this product. If service or repair work is required, contact WorldGate.
8. Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords.
9. Avoid using during an electrical storm. Use a surge protector to protect the equipment.
10. Do not use Ojo to report a gas leak.
Unplug Ojo immediately from the outlet if:
• The power cord or plug is damaged or frayed.
• Liquid has been spilled onto the product.
• The product has been exposed to rain or water. Do not retrieve the handset or base until af ter you
have unplugged the power and phone from the wall. Then retrieve the unit by the unplugged cords.
• The product has been dropped or the housing has been damaged.
INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
1. Read and follow all instructions and save them for future reference.
2. Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product.
3. Do not install this product near a bathtub, sink, or shower.
4. Use only the power supply that came with this unit or an authorised replacement recommended by the
manufacturer. Using other power supplies may damage the unit. If you are unsure of the power supply
to your home, consult your dealer or local power company.
5. Do not place this product on an unstable car t, stand, or table. This product may fall, causing serious
damage to the product.
6. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions. Improper adjustment of other
controls may result in damage and will often require extensive work to restore the product to normal operation.
7. Clean this product with a sof t, damp cloth. Do not use chemicals or cleaning agents to clean this phone.
8. Because Ojo requires AC power to operate, you should have at least one corded phone in your home
in case the power goes out.
9. To avoid interference to nearby appliances, do not place the base of Ojo’s display unit on or near a TV,
microwave oven, VCR, wireless router, or cordless phone base.
BATTERY SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Do not burn, disassemble, mutilate, or puncture the battery or battery pack. The batteries contain
toxic materials that could be released, resulting in injury.
• Caution: There is a risk of explosion if you replace the batteries with an incorrect battery type. Use only
the battery pack that came with your phone or an authorised replacement recommended by the manufacturer.
• Keep batteries and battery packs out of the reach of children.
• Remove the batter y pack s if storing the product over 30 days.
• Do not dispose of batteries or battery packs in fire ; this could result in explosion.
• The rechargeable batteries that power this product must be disposed of properly and may need to be recycled.
Refer to your battery pack’s label for battery type. Contact your local recycling centre for proper disposal methods.

Can’t make a call?
Check the screen. Are there any of these messages?
‘Please plug in the network cable. Press LEFT ARROW’
• Is the broadband connection working? With all the indicator lights on the
broadband router showing activity?
• Is the ethernet cable plugged into the back of your Telecom Ojo and into your
broadband router?
• If so, then press the left arrow; this will reboot the video phone.
‘Please restart your modem, router/gateway, and Ojo – in that order’
If this message comes up, follow these steps:
• Remove the power cord from the back of your Telecom Ojo
• Reboot your broadband router; usually this just means turning the power off
and on again
• Once the router has rebooted, plug the power back into your Ojo, and let it run
through its normal automatic set up process.
Still can’t connect?
If you still can’t connect, although everything appears to be connected and there
are no error messages showing, try these remedies:
• Call the test number ‘888 TALK’; if it’s working you’ll get a recorded message
• That means that the connection is working. Try making your call again to another Ojo.
Still not connecting? Try this.
If you still can’t connect, follow these steps, starting in the Main Menu:
• Main Menu <select> Connection <select> Profile <select> use the arrows
to change to Low <select> then save this change with the left arrow
• Try the test number 888 again. If you get the recorded message try calling
another Ojo again.
If you still can’t connect, go back into the Main Menu, and follow these steps:
• Main Menu <select> Connection <select> then use the arrows to scroll
to the bottom of screen and highlight ‘Reset Connection’ <select>
• Once the Ojo’s connection has reset itself and you’ve returned to the main screen,
call 888 to see if it’s working. Try calling another Ojo again.

There are a few things you’ll need before
installing your Telecom Ojo Video Phone
• A residential broadband connection with a router
• An access line
• Your Visa® or MasterCard®
• The Ojo’s 12-digit Unit ID number. You’ll find this
on the bottom of your Telecom Ojo
Install a router (If you’ve already got a router or gateway
installed, skip this and go to Step 3.)
• Install your router in accordance with its set up instructions
• Ensure your broadband connection is working through your
router – to do this simply go online and visit telecom.co.nz
If you’re a Telecom Xtra Broadband customer and have
any problems, just call us. It’s a dedicated helpdesk.

IF YOU’RE WITH A DIFFERENT BROADBAND PROVIDER THEIR HELPDESK
SHOULD BE ABLE TO HELP.
Connect the Telecom Ojo Video Phone
to your router
• Take the ethernet cable provided and plug one end of it into
the router port on the back of your Telecom Ojo (see diagram)
• Plug the other end into an open port on your router (see diagram)
Power up your Telecom Ojo Video Phone
• Plug the power block into the power cord
• Plug the other end into a power socket
• Plug the power connector of the power block into the
“12V” port on the back of your Telecom Ojo (see diagram)
• Your Telecom Ojo start-up sequence has begun.
It’s going to take 2 to 3 minutes
NOTE: IF A PROBLEM IS IDENTIFIED ON SCREEN, DURING STEP 5,
AN OJO REPRESENTATIVE WILL BE ABLE TO ASSIST YOU.
Activate your Telecom Ojo Video Phone
Time to make your first call. Call a Telecom Ojo representative
on the number below to have your service activated. Your Telecom
Ojo uses the same phone number as your home phone for making
video calls, so you have to make your call from your home phone
number to have your service activated.

Recording a video greeting (You don’t have to, but you can.)
The Telecom Ojo has the ability to receive and record messages.
If you’d like to record a video greeting, just follow these steps.
Your video greeting can be up to 30 seconds long.
• On the Home screen, highlight Main Menu and press SELECT
• In the Main Menu, highlight Messaging and press SELECT
• Once you’re in the Messaging Menu, highlight Record Greeting
and press SELECT
• Press SELECT again to record your greeting (press SELECT once
more to end recording)
• Then, in the Messaging Menu, highlight Review Greeting
and press SELECT
IF YOU’RE NOT HAPPY WITH YOUR GREETING, FOLLOW THESE STEPS
UNTIL YOU’VE RECORDED ONE YOU LIKE.
Now, let’s make a video call
To use your Telecom Ojo for video calls, the other party has to have
an Ojo Video Phone too. Here we go!
• Move the camera slider all the way across to the right
• Enter the phone number of the person you’re calling
• Press TALK; a screen will appear showing the number
you’ve just dialled
• When it answers at the other end, you’ll be able to hear the
person, but you won’t be able to see them until they’ve pressed
SELECT on the Ojo at their end
Have a video phone conversation. To finish, just press END.
NOTE: IF THE PICTURE OF THE PERSON YOU’VE CALLED LOOKS TOO DARK,
ASK THEM TO ADJUST THEIR LIGHTING, AND IF YOU LOOK TOO DARK IN YOUR
VIDEO SELF-IMAGE, YOUR LIGHTING COULD ALSO NEED ADJUSTING.
