Assembly Instructions
LabMaster 10Zi Rack Mount
Thank you for purchasing a Teledyne LeCroy LabMaster 10Zi Rack Mount accessory. The following procedures explain proper
installation of the rack mount.
Upon receiving your shipment, remove all parts from the packaging. Refer to the Parts Table to ensure that all items have shipped
correctly, and contact us immediately if any parts are missing.
CAUTION. The LabMaster 10Zi system performance depends on adequate airflow into the vents on the bottom cover of
the units. When installing in a rack, do not position the units so as to block the vents. Any equipment or debris in the 1
inch (25.4 mm) space below the units could result in performance degradation and possible shutdown of the system.
Use the provided tools to complete the assembly.

MCMZi Control Module
Pre-Assemble Brackets
Pre-assemble the brackets and handles into a single piece using two 8-32 Undercut Flat Head screws per bracket, as shown below.

LabMaster 10Zi Rack Mount
Remove Covers
Prepare the MCMZi for rack mounting by removing the outer plastic covers, handle and metal wrap. "Left" and "right" refer to your left
and right when facing the front of the unit.
1. Remove the five M3 X 6 Torx screws on the top of the unit using the T10 Torx driver, and take off the top cover.
2. Remove the three long M3 X 10 and six short M3 X 6 screws on the left side using the T10 Torx driver, and take off the cover.
3. Remove the two long M3 X 10 and six short M3 X 6 screws on the right side using the T10 Torx driver, and take off the cover.
4. Remove the five M5 X 12 screws that attach the handle to the left side using the T25 T-handled Torx Driver, and take off the
handle.

5. Remove the four M3 X 10 socket head screws with washers on the metal wrap using the 2.5mm T-handled 9" Allen key. Remove
the two M3 X 10 Torx screws from the bottom of the wrap using the T10 Torx driver.
6. Stand behind the MCMZi, grasp the metal wrap from both sides, and pull it off the back of the unit.
The correct position for removing the wrap is shown below.

LabMaster 10Zi Rack Mount
Install the MCMZi Rack Mount
1. Remove the three M3 X 6 Torx screws with washers on the left side of the unit using the T10 Torx driver.
2. Position the left bracket so that the holes align with the holes on the MCMZi. The handle should be facing toward the front of the
unit.
3. Use three M3 X 10 Torx screws that came with the MCMZi to attach the left bracket to the left side of the MCMZi.
4. Install the right bracket in the same manner as the left.
NOTE: The right and left bracket are not interchangeable. The screw holes should only line up correctly with the handle facing
forward.
5. With the brackets securely fastened to the unit, install the MCMZi into a rack following manufacturer specifications.
A minimum of two fasteners per side is required. There are two additional fastener locations provided in each of the brackets.
Four fasteners per side is recommended for maximum security.
CAUTION. Due to the weight of the MCMZi, transporting the unit while mounted in a rack is not recommended. The
instrument should always be removed from the rack and packed for transit in the required Teledyne LeCroy shipping
materials.

LM10Zi Acquisition Modules
Remove Covers
Prepare the LM10Zi Acquisition Module for rack mounting by removing the outer plastic covers, handle and metal wrap. "Left" and
"right" refer to your left and right when facing the front of the unit.
1. Remove the three M3 X 6 screws from the front, bottom trim piece using the T10 Torx driver.
2. Remove the four M3 X 10 screws on the metal wrap using the T10 Torx driver.
3. Stand in front of the Acquisition Module, grasp the metal wrap from both sides, and pull it off the front of the unit. The bottom
trim piece should come off with the wrap.
4. Remove the six M3 X 6 Torx screws on the top of the unit using the T10 Torx driver, and take off the top cover.
5. Remove the three M3 X 10 screws,four M3 X 6 screws, and one M3 X 4 screw on the right side using the T10 Torx driver, and take
off the cover.
6. Remove the three M3 X 10 screws,four M3 X 6 screws, and one M3 X 4 screw on the left side using the T10 Torx driver, and take
off the cover.
7. Remove the four M5 X 8 screws and five M5 X 16 screws that attach the handle to the left side using the T25 T-handled Torx
driver, and take off the handle.

LabMaster 10Zi Rack Mount
Install the LM10Zi-ACQMOD Rack Mount
1. Use the empty screw holes in the two brackets at the left and right front sides of the tray to install it into a rack following
manufacturer specifications.
Four fasteners per side is required. The center hole in the bracket accommodates an alignment pin on the rack.
NOTE: Acquisition modules should be mounted directly above or below the MCMZi in the rack so that the cables can reach their
intended connectors.
2. Slide the Acquisition Module into the rack mount tray until it touches the two positioning feet at the back of the tray. Do not try to
push the unit over the feet.
CAUTION. Due to the weight of the LM10Zi Acquisition Module, transporting the unit while mounted in a rack is not
recommended. The instrument should always be removed from the rack and packed for transit in the required
Teledyne LeCroy shipping materials.
