The Divace Solo Headset Adapter

Install the Divace Solo software according to the Divace User Manual.

Connect the Headset Adapter cable to sound card and configure jumpers inside
the Headset Adapter, see the paragraph “Divace Headset Adapter Installation”.
The Divace Solo computer sound card mixer should be preadjusted to achieve
best audio performance, see the paragraph "Computer sound card mixer
adjustment".
Instead of adjusting every sound card individually, you can copy both CFG files
into other student computers’ Divace Solo installation directories,

At the end of the adjustment procedure the sound card setting file DIVACE.CFG
and map file mixer_name.CFG are created and saved on the Divace Solo
installation directory.
If more than one Divace Solos are installed at time, do the following:
Connect headset(s) to Headset Adapter. See the paragraph "Divace Duo
Headset Adapter Installation".
Install Headset Adapters to student furniture. See the paragraph "Three ways to
install Headset Adapter".

Three Ways to Install Headset Adapter
1. Leave it on the table top beside computer.
2. Install it with screws under the table top.
3. Install it with the Desk Top Housing (accessory).

Installation
Headset Installation
The Headset Adapter has four headset sockets:
two in front and two inside the Headset Adapter.
To install headset(s) inside the Headset Adapter
you have to cut a hole in the plastic cover for
headset cable(s) to pass through.

Open the plastic cover by removing the two
screws on the bottom.
Attach headsets to connectors inside the
Headset Panel.
Cut a hole in the thin plastic cover for headset
cable(s) to pass through.

Cabling
Install the Headset Adapter according to the
drawings beside.
Connect +12V dc adapter (50 mA).
Note polarity: +12V on outer ring
GND on center pin
Set the jumper J11 inside the Headset Adapter
to STAND ALONE position.
During the sound card mixer adjustment,
change the setting of jumper J5, if necessary.
The default position for jumper J5 is 200 mV,
i.e. not connected. See the paragraph “Sound
card mixer adjustment”.

You need the following items to adjust mixer:
1. Divace Headset Adapter
2. Divace Solo CD
3. Divace Solo adjustment plug.
Adjustment procedure:
1. Close the Divace Solo application to assure that it is not running.
2. Insert the Divace Solo CD into computer. Cancel the Divace Solo installation wizard by clicking the
Cancel button.
3. Run the ADJUST.EXE located in the ADJUST directory on the Divace Solo CD.
4. Follow the instructions given on the text window.

The first step is to create the Divace sound card
MAP file.
The second step is to adjust the sound card mixer,
see phases1-6onnext page.
At the end of adjustment procedure, the sound card
mixer setting file DIVACE.CFG and map file
.CFG are created and saved into the
Divace Solo installation directory.
NOTE! The above refers the name of
the sound card mixer.

1. Connect the "Adjustment Plug" to the
CER- 3000 connector in the Headset
Adapter.
To continue, press the "NEXT" button.
1. Adjust the slider until the bar turns green.
2. If the bar is yellow all the time, set the Mic
boost ON and change the jumper J5 to
30 mV position.
3. If the bar is red all the time, change the
jumper J5 to 30 mV position. Check that the
Mic boost is OFF.
To continue, press the "NEXT" button.
1. With CD Player
- Play the "Track 2" on the Divace Duo
CD- ROM.
- Select "Continuous Play" on "Options".
2. Select "CD Digital" if CD-ROM is connected
to digital CD-ROM input of sound card.
3. Adjust the slider until the bar turns green.

1. Disconnect the "Adjustment Plug" from the
Headset Adapter.
2. Start recording by pressing the record
button and speak about 4 sec.
3. While your voice is repeated, speak and
adjust the signal level so that your speak
and repeated voice are at same level.
To continue, press the "NEXT" button.
1. Close the CD Player.
2. Close this application.
3. Copy the DIVACE.CFG and
mixer_name.CFG
files into another students’ Divace Solo
directories, if their sound cards are of the
same type.
