This Quick Start Guide will walk you through the steps required to
demonstrate HomeKit ADK on GS2200M EVB (Evaluation Board).
GS2200M Hostless HomeKit
Supports GS2200 Modules
ADK Quick Start Guide
The GS2200M_EVB3 has the GainSpan Wi-Fi module and the
Apple Wireless Accessory Configuration (WAC) installed on the
board. Your kit contains:
• Quick Start Guide (this document)
• GS2200M_EVB3 Evaluation Board with WAC
• Serial Cable (USB to Mini-USB)
• Preloaded Firmware
• Flash Programming Tool
• iOS devices with the Home APP from iOS store.
1 Build the Firmware
Step3 Open GainSpan Serial Flash Programmer GUI applica-
tion from "\Tools\GS_programming_tool\gs2k_flashprogram.exe"..
Step4Select the interface and the port with Baud rate 921600.
Click Check Connection.
Step5Once the “Connection OK” is displayed, select “Super
Block” and “Current Firmware version” that is located in
“\QuickStart”.
Step6 Click Erase and Program Button.
A green check mark at the lower-right corner of the application win-
dow, indicates successful programming of the module with a dis-
play.
Step 1 Login at https://wifi.telit.com/secure/login, select SDK
Builder tab and proceed to select the following options for ADK
package as shown below:
If you do not have a login, sign up and register for a Portal account
at:
https://wifi.telit.com/secure/register
Step 2 Click Next to navigate to the build option.
Step 3 Click Build to generate the HomeKit binaries. The build con-
figuration is submitted and a confirmation e-mail is sent notifying that the
HomeKit Custom package is complete and ready to download.
Download and unzip the package, for firmware binaries.
2 Program the GS Module
Step 1 Plug the mini-USB cable, one end of the USB port to
GS2200MIZ board USB0 and the other end of the USB port to the com-
puter or laptop.
Step 2 Turn the PROGRAM/RUN switch to PROGRAM mode on
the EVB and perform a power cycle (switch OFF and switch ON the
power switch)

Setup the Serial port:
• Port: COMx (where, x is the COM port number)
• Baud Rate: 115200
• Data: 8 bit
• Parity: none
• Stop: 1 bit
• Flow Control: none
4 Light Sensor Demo
Note: To verify the correct COM port, open Windows
Control Panel and select Device Manager and Ports
associated with the board.
Open a Serial Terminal Emulation Software of your choice. Select
the serial COM port associated with the board. In this example we
are using Tera Term VT. You can download a copy of
Tera Term VT at:
http://ttssh2.sourceforge.jp/
Step 1Ensure that the PROGRAM/RUN switch (SW8) is in RUN
mode. Turn the ON/OFF switch (SW6) to the ON position.
Step 2 Power ON (SW6) by turning it OFF/ON and check the
terminal emulator displays board information and the command
prompt to perform provisioning and to run the demo:
Step 4 Put the PROGRAM/RUN switch to RUN mode.
3 Configure the Serial Port
Note: For GS2200M EVB, connect Jumper J13 - GPIO Pro-
gram Select for Baud Rate 921600 Step 3 Connect to a network. This can be performed in
following ways:
• Manual Method Using SSID and PWD Commands
• WAC Provisioning Method
Step 4 In the terminal emulator displays board information
type DEMO 2 (Light Sensor) to start the demo and start the EVB
as a station using the INFRA command, or as a limited AP using
the WEB command.
Note: After every command, enter any key to EXIT from
DEEPSLEEP mode.
For GS2200MEVB- Jumper J34 and Jumper J37has has to
be shorted.
Step 5 Open the iOS device, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect
to GainSpan AP “GainSpan_AE”.

User Guide, section - Running HomeKit Test App.
This QSG provides steps for Manual mode.

Step 6 Launch “HOME App" from iOS device and tap Add
Accessory.
Step 7 Select the accessory to be add to the HomeKit.
Step 8 Enter the pass code manually, that is the default
authentication code 101-48-505.
Step 9 HOME App pairs and authenticates the HomeKit
Accessory.
Step 10 Upon successful Pairing, tap Done.

Step 11 The light sensor value will be displayed on the
HOME App.
The light sensor on the EVB is located along the top left side of
the board, labeled as Q10.
The light sensor value can be changed using a torch or by
covering the sensor and the values can be monitored in the
HOME App.

serial commands to read and write other service properties.
