SERIAL NUMBER(#) LOCATIONS
Interactive Flat Panels
Serial number will be on the bottom right corner
(facing panel) on a white sticker or it can also be
found in the “About” section which can be access
through the menu button on the left side of the
panel.
Interactive Whiteboards / Projectors
The IWB serial number will be on the lower right
hand side of the board on a white sticker. The
location of the interactive projector serial number
varies by type but is typically on the top of the
projector

sure (1) video cable & (1) USB cable
is plugged into the same port

HOW TO CLEAN THE BOARD/PANEL CAMERA BEZEL
DO
Use a microfiber cloth (only) to
wipe the bezel & remove dust from
around cameras.
DO NOT
Use any type of liquid or chemicals
on the product.
Use of air can as it may cause dust
to get into the camera.

RESETTING THE PANEL/BOARD
600/800 series boards
•Under the center of the pen tray, locate the ribbon cable,
power cable & mini ethernet cable. Unplug all 3 cables, wait
2 minutes then plug the cables back in & let it restart.
•When plugging back in watch the pen tray pen slot colors
blink which indicates power is turning back on.
600 series boards
•Soft reboot -Touch the ‘Moon’ button once then hold the ‘Moon’ button till
panel goes black. Let it run its course.
•Hard reboot -On the back left side right next to the power cord there is a
rocker switch you can switch off. Wait for 2 minutes and switch it back on.

ORIENTING THE SMART BOARD
For the SMART Boards, there are two
ways to calibrate / orient the board

On the pen tray, simply
press the ‘+’ button

FIRMWARE UPDATE –PANEL & KAPP MODULE
Panel Firmware Update
•Ensure your interactive flat panel is connected to
your computer. Refer to ‘Connecting to your
Computer for Testing’
•Go to the local C:\Program Files\Smart
technology\Smart Product
Drivers\SmartFirmwareUpdater.exe
•Follow the on-screen instructions using your
computer's mouse and keyboard. Don't touch the
interactive flat panel.
•Select the check box for the SMART product you
want to update, and then click Next. A progress
bar appears.
•When the installation is complete, calibrate your
interactive flat panel.
Kapp Module Firmware Update
•Save the .zip file to the root directory of an FAT
formatted USB drive.
•Connect the USB drive to your SMART kapp iQ.
•A dialog box appears (NOTE:If the dialog box
doesn't appear, you're using the wrong update file
or your capture board has the latest version.)
•Press ’OK’ (CAUTION: Do not disconnect the USB
drive or turn off the power of the capture board
until the installation process is complete. The
screen turns black and the panel will restart
several times. After a few minutes when the
installation is complete, the panel will restart)
