RangePro X8 Safety Manual 2 • Cautions and Warnings
The Aircraft
During a Flight
Other Flight Guidelines
•Maintain a line of sight to your aircraft at all times.
•Fly in open areas. Tall buildings or steel structures may block the GPS signal or affect the accuracy of the air-
craft's compass.
•Pay attention to Low Battery warnings and land the aircraft promptly and safely.
•If flying in return-to-home mode, you can adjust the altitude of the aircraft to avoid obstacles.
To avoid damaging the RangePro X8:
•DO NOT fly the RangePro RPX8-P if any battery cell is below 3.2V. Full charge on the
battery should be 4.3V per cell, or 25.8V total.
•DO NOT use RangePro RPX8-P parts (i.e. batteries, flight controller, etc.) for any-
thing other than their intended purpose.
•Verify that any attached gimbal mount or payload is properly locked into position and
secured before flight.
•Verify that there are no foreign objects (such as water, oil, soil, sand, etc.) inside of
the aircraft fuselage or its components.
•Verify that there is sufficient room around the UAV (TerraView recommends a 30-foot
or 9-meter radius around the aircraft) for takeoff and landing.
•Only use RangePro RPX8-P replacement parts when servicing the UAV.
•Perform regular maintenance on your aircraft and its components (see Chapter 11,
“Maintenance” on page 87) to ensure that everything is working properly.
To avoid the risk of personal injury and/or property damage, land immediately if
severe drifting occurs (i.e. if the aircraft does NOT fly in straight lines) or if the air-
craft does not properly respond to flight commands.
Comply with local regulations for piloting a small UAV.
To avoid damaging the RangePro X8, before using the UAV, consult a weather service for
local weather conditions. Avoid flying the drone if:
•Wind speeds may exceed 25 mph (40 kph)
•Precipitation is present.
•Temperatures are below 14 °F or above 104 °F (below -10 °C or above 40 °C).
In the event of a crash, approach the aircraft slowly and cautiously; inspect your RangePro
X8 for damage, including small cracks in the propellers, the arms, landing gear, gimbal,
and especially the battery.
If there is any damage to the RangePro X8, do not fly the drone until it has been repaired.
