QUICKSTART
GUIDE
The RFID Handheld Reader Quick-Start-Guide (QSG)
contains step-by-step directions on how to perform and
send an inventory scan of RFID tagged items (and
subsequent scan types), and how to locate an RFID tag
using the RFID Handheld Reader.
This QSG is intended to illustrate how to quickly navigate
and operate the RFID Handheld Reader.
If applicable, provide this to any user of the RFID
Handheld Reader that will need to only perform the
actions above.
More detailed and comprehensive directions can be found
in the RFID Handheld Reader User Guide.
Please go to the next page to begin the RFID
Handheld Reader QSG.

Select the serial number
that matches the device
being used and press the
back arrow
Step 2: Select the Terso
Inventory App
Step 4: Select scan
type
Performing an Inventory Scan
Step 6: Begin scanning
Step 3:
Select the
“Inventory Scan”icon
Step 5: If the below icon
appears on the page,
select it and a “Connect to
Reader” Page will open
If this icon does not
appear go to step 6
Step 1: Power on the
device, press and hold the
power button on the RFID
Reader and Smartphone

Step 7: Press/hold the trigger, making
a figure eight motion, until all intended
inventory items are read
Step 8: Release the
trigger and press the
STOP icon
Step 9: Press the
SEND icon
Step 10:Press ok to
return to the Terso
Inventory Application

Locating an RFID Tagged Item
Step 2: Select the
Terso Inventory App
Step 5: Enter the tag
number
Step 4: If the below icon
appears on the page,
select it and a “Connect to
Reader” Page will open
Select the serial number
that matches the device
being used and press the
back arrow
If this icon does not
appear go to step 5
Step 3: Select the
“Locate” icon
Step 1: Power on the
device, press and hold the
power button on the RFID
Reader and Smartphone

Step 6: Press/hold the
trigger and point at a
location to begin locating
the tagged item
Step 7: Tagged item is
more than 20 feet away
Step 8: Tagged item is
nearby, roughly 1-10 ft., move
toward that direction
Step 9: Tagged item is
less than 1 foot away
