lfitisnecessary
torepack the
speakers,itmust
bedone
properly
toavoid
damage
during
shipping.
1. Unmount
trimstrip
on
front
of
speaker.
Remove
grille
frame
by
pulling
its
bottom
away
from
thecabinetabout
ahaltinch and
then
lifting
it
upward
(reverse
orderof
the
installation
illustrated
ontheotherside).Reinstalltrim
strip.
2. Tape
orangetweeter
protector
capover
tweeterand
coverspeakerwith
plastic
bagif
available.
3. Place
emptycarton
overspeaker
and
insert
thetwolong
cardboard
corners
atback
of
speaker.Lay
speaker
(in
carton)on
its
back.
4. Mount
grille
tolarge
plywoodpiece
by
inserting
grille
bottomedgeinto
slotinfoam
and
grilleplastic
fasteners
intoholesnear
top.Insert
plywood
(with
grille
mounted),
with
narrow
sideof
grille
first,
from
topof
carton.
ltis
helpfultohave
asecond
person
who
can
guide
this
piece
from
thebottom
ofspeaker
overthetrim
stripand
into
properposition
withfoam
against
speaker
front.
5. lnstall
bottom
plywood
and
cardboard
pad
assemblyinto
bottomof
carton
sothat
the
cardboardblocks
runside
toside.Close
all
four
carton
flaps
andtapeor
staple
securely.
6. Standspeaker
upright
and
installthe
top
plywood
and
foam
pad
assemblymaking
surethat
speakeris
held
toward
back
ofcartonbylip
on
the
foam
and
thatthe
front
plywoodpiece
is
outsideof
foamlip
on
bottomof
top
plywood
piece.

7. Close
all
four
topcardboard
flaps
andtape
orstaple
securely.

UNPACKINGTHE
SPEAKER
1. Remove
the
top
plywood
and
pad
asembly.
2. Remove
the
twocardboardcorner
pads
from
backofcabinet.
3.Carefully
lift
upand
remove
the
front
plywoodpiece
with
grille
attached.Hold
thecabinettowardback
ofcarton
toavoid
catchingthe
foam
pads
on
thetrimstip.
(see
figure)
4. Lay
thespeaker
(in
carton)on
its
back.
Openthebottom
of
thecartonand
fold
all
four
carton
flaps
out. lt
will
benecessaryto
lift
thebottomofthecarton
offthe
floor
tofold
the
bottom
flap
out.
5. Remove thebottom
plywood
and
pad
assembly.
6. Standthespeakerupright
and
lift
thecartonoffthespeaker.
7. Remove
the
plastic
bagandtheorange
tweeter
protector
cap.
INSTALLINGTHE
GRILLE
ln
ordertobetter
protect
thespeakerand
guard
againstshipping
damage
the
grille
is
removedfrom
thespeakerduringshipping.
Before
the
grille
is
installed,make
surethetweeter
protector
cap
is
removed.
1. Remove
the
grille
from
the
packingplywood
by
liftingit
upand
then
out.
2. Unmounttheblacktrim
striponthe
front
ofthespeaker
(below
thebaffle)byremoving
the
two
phillips
screws.
3. Mount the
grille
by
first
pushing
its
top
down
into
the
fasteners
on
topofthebaffleso
thatthe
grille
top
isflush
with
thecabinettop.
Then
push
thebottom
ofthe
grille
backagainst
thespeaker
sothat
the
pins
in
thebottom
of
thebatfle
seat
into
theholesin
the
grille.
4. Remount
the
black
trim
strip
tothe
front
of
thespeaker.
