Safety notes
Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in elec-

Power supply
DANGER
Electric shock caused by high voltages inside!
Within the unit there are areas where high voltages may be present. To reduce the risk of
electric shock do not remove any covers unless the AC mains power cord is removed. Cov-
ers should be removed by qualied service personnel only.
There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
DANGER
Electric shock caused by short circuit!
Always use proper ready-made insulated mains cabling (power cord) with a protective con-
tact plug. Do not modify the mains cable or the plug. Failure to do so could result in electric
shock/death or re. If in doubt, seek advice from a registered electrician.
Operating conditions
Always install and use the device in accordance with these instructions.
Notice
Malfunction or damage to equipment
To avoid the risk of electric shock and damage, do not subject the unit to any liquid/rain or moisture. Do
not use the unit when in close proximity to water. Do not install the unit near any direct heat source.
Do not use solvents such as alcohol to clean the unit.

Set-up
We recommend to connect all cables while the device is turned off. We recommend to use high-end cables for
all audio and video connections which should be as short as possible.
Power supply
Notice
Malfunction or damage to equipment!
Ensure that the input voltage (AC outlet) matches the voltage rating of the product. Failure to do so could
result in damage to the product and possibly the user.
Unplug the unit before electrical storms occur and when unused for long periods of time.
Connect to a TV set or a projector
The device supports the following analogue video standards:
Component Video (RCA jack 15, 16, 17) for best quality
S-Video (mini-DIN jack 20)
Composite Video (RCA jack 19)
Connect to an audio device
Connect the outputs “AUDIO L” and “AUDIO R” (13, 14) to a stereo amplier.
Rack mounting
The device is designed to t into 19-inch racks. It occupies 1.5 vertical rack units “U”.

mono channel, left mono channel or a mix of both mono channels)
OCH–: Navigation within menus
P: TU+: Navigation within menus. During the playback of a video DVD: fast
forward
QVOL+: Increases the volume
RVOL–: Decreases the volume
SSLOW: Slow motion (1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6 or 1/7 of the normal speed)
TZOOM: Controls the digital zoom. Possible values: 2×, 3×, 4×, 1/2×, 1/3×, 1/4×
URETURN: Returns to the DVD‘s main menu
VTITLE: No function
WSUBTITLE: Chooses one of the DVD‘s subtitle options
XP/N: Chooses a television signal format.
Possible values: Auto (automatic detection, recommended), NTSC, PAL, PAL60

Operation
Play a DVD or CD
Press “OPEN/CLOSE” (5 or 41) to open the DVD/CD tray.
Insert a DVD or CD with the printed side up.
Press “OPEN/CLOSE” (5 or 41) again to close the DVD/CD tray. The DVD or CD will be read, the playback
starts.
To end the playback press “STOP” (34).
Use the repeat function
While a DVD or CD is playing, press “RET” (8) or “MEM/REP” (27).
The display of the device shows “REP”. If a TV set is connected, it shows “REP 1”. The track or chapter
that is currently playing will be repeated in an endless loop.
If you press “RET” (8) or “MEM/REP” (27) once more “REP” starts to blink in the display. If a TV set is con-
nected, it shows “REPALL”. Now, the complete DVD or CD will be repeated in an endless loop.
To stop the repeat function, press “RET” (8) or “MEM/REP” (27) again.
Use a play list
Using a play list it is possible – for example – to play your favourite tracks of a CD in the desired order and
composition.
Press “PROG” (32). The menu used to set up a play list appears on a TV set connected to the device.
Fill the table by entering the numbers of the tracks or chapters. Use the decimal keys (26) to do so. To
navigate, use the arrow keys.
To start the playback, move the cursor to the eld “Play” and press “ENTER” (38).
To stop the playback, press “STOP” (34).
Repeat a section within a track or chapter
While a DVD or CD is playing, press “A-B” (36). This marks the start of the section.
At the end of the section to be repeated, press “A-B” (36) again.
The section will be repeated as long as you press Taste “A-B” (36) once more.
Exchanging batteries
Open the cover of the battery compartment and insert the batteries as shown in the gure.

Protecting the environment
Disposal of the packaging material
For the transport and protective packaging, environmentally friendly materials have
been chosen that can be supplied to normal recycling.
Ensure that plastic bags, packaging, etc. are properly disposed and are not in the
reach of babies and young children. Choking hazard! Do not just dispose these
materials, but make sure that they are fed to a recovery. Please follow the notes and
markings on the packaging.
Disposal of your old device
Electrical and electronic equipment often contain materials which can be healthy and
environmentally harmful, if not properly treated and disposed of. However, they are
essential for the proper operation of your device. At the end of its operating lifetime,
do not dispose the device with your normal household waste.
This device is subject to the European directive 2002/96/EC.
Dispose this device through an approved waste disposal rm or through your local
waste facility. When discarding the unit, comply with your rules and regulations that
apply in your country. If in doubt, consult your local waste disposal facility.
Batteries do contain some hazardous chemicals so they should not be thrown out with
the day to day rubbish. They should be returned to the manufacturer for disposal or
recycled elsewhere in accordance with your local regulations.
