IfyourcameraisnotequippedwiththeWPSfeatureoryoudonotwanttouseit,youwillhavetousea
wiredconnectionforsetup,evenifyousubsequentlyintendtouseaWiFiconnection.
IMPORTANT:Donotconnectyourcameratoyourcomputer.Thiswillnotprovideitwithaccesstothe
internet.
Inmostcases,thecameraisimmediatelydetectedbythemodem/router,whichgrantsitaccesstothe
Internet.Afterafewseconds,thecameramotorsshouldrespondandthenetworkactivityLEDattheback
ofthecamerashouldash.
3 - FOCUSSING THE IMAGE
• Onceyouhavesetupthedevice,youcanadjustthefocusoftheimageifitislackingsharpness.
Gentlyrotatethelenstoadjustthefocus.

When you connect your camera to the ThomView

change the user name and password for camera
connection,forincreasedsecurity:
WARNING: if the application asks you to choose
a WiFi network for your camera instead of asking
youtochangetheusernameandpasswordforthe
application,thenyourcamerahasissuesaccessing
theInternet.Waitamomentorchecktheconnection
settings for your camera and your smartphone or
tabletbeforecontinuing.

SOFTWARE
TheThomViewsoftwareiscompatiblewithPCand
MacOS and congures and manages one or more
camerasconnected tothesamelocalnetwork.On
another network, it enables remote access to the
cameraimage.
TheThomViewsoftwareisprovidedontheCDthat
comes with the product, and is also available for
downloadonourwebsite:

• Installthenrunthesoftwareonyourcomputer:
TheThomView softwareasksyou for a user name
andpasswordtoconnect:thedefaultusernameis
“admin”andthereisnopassword.
Important note: this user name and password is
notthesameforyourcamera.Theyarespecicto
the ThomView software and prevent shut-down of
thesoftwarebyunauthorisedpersons,forexample.

• Click the “Recherche [Search]” button to
ndyourcameraonthenetworktowhichyour
computerisconnected.
• In the list of cameras found, click on the
one you wish to add to the software. The
information in the top part of the window is
lledinautomaticallywhenyouselectacamera
fromthelist.
• If necessary, change the user name and
passwordtoconnecttothecamera(thedefault
usernameis“admin”andthepasswordmust
beleftblank).
• Click on “Vérification de la connexion
[Check connection]” to check the camera
connectionanddataentered.
• Finally,click“Ajouter [Add]”.
When you connect your camera for the rst time,
youareimmediatelyaskedtochangetheusername
andpasswordforcameraconnection,forincreased
security:
Once you have modied the user name and
password, the camera appears on the list on the
right side of the software’s main screen. Drag the
lineofyourcameraintooneoftheviewingwindows
todisplaytheimage:
Note:itispossibletoconnectacamerathatisnot
present on the network to which the computer is
connected.Instep3above,enterthecameraUID
manually:asitisnotonthesamenetworkitwillnot
bedetectedandlledinautomatically.
Allofyourcamerasettingscanbeaccessedremotely
byrightclickingonthenameofthecamerainthelist
(or on the image that it displays) then clicking on
“Paramètres caméra [Camera parameters]”:
• Status menu:showsyouthecurrentstatusof
thecamera:rmwareversion,username,main
functionsactivated,lastoperationsperformed.
• Basic parameters: enables you to dene
thenameandtimeofthecamerathatcanbe
embeddedintothevideoofthecamera.
• Network: here you have access to all of the
settingslinkedtonetworkuse:IPconguration,
WiFicongurationwiththeoptionofswitching
the camera from a wired to a wireless
connection, ports used, email alert settings,
accesstoanFTPserver,plugandplayaccess
settings.
• Video: here you have access to all of the
settingslinkedtocamera videomanagement:
resolution,numberofimagespersecond,night
visionoperation,congurationofphotostaken
by the camera, contrast settings, brightness,
etc.
• Detector:hereyoucanactivateandcongure
themotiondetectionfunctionandtheactions
tobelaunchedifanintrusionisdetected.
• PTZ (compatible cameras only): here you will
ndallofthesettingslinkedtocameramotor
managementifitistted.
• System:enablesyoutoresetthecamerato0
orrestartit.

To program an alert to be sent when motion is
detected,youneed2emailaddresses:theaddress
of the sender which will be used by the camera,
and the address which will receive the alerts. The
camera uses the username and password of the
sender address to connect and send the email.
Conguration depends on the chosen email
provider’ssettings.
Note:the2emailaddressescanbethesame(you
willsimplybesendinganemailtoyourself)
Inourexample,weusewww.gmail.com:
sender[email protected] sends the alerts,
[email protected] receives the alerts. Both
addressesneedtohavebeencreatedbeforehand.
Toprogramemailalertsfor motion detection,right
clickonacamerainthelist at the top right ofthe
main screen or on the screen image, then select
“Paramètres caméra [Camera settings]”.
Then go to “Réseau [Network]”, “Paramètres
messagerie [Message settings]”:

IMPORTANT:Whenyouhavenishedconguration,
donotforgettoclickon“Save”tosaveeverything
youhaveentered.
Important note:itdoesnotmatterwhotheemail
providerof the addresseeoraddresseesis as it is
theemailproviderofthesenderwhichdictateswhat
needstobeentered.However,youmustensureyou
checkthatthealertsarenottreatedasspambyany
oftheaddressees.
When you have nished conguring your camera,
it will be able to send emails. You must now tell
it when to send them, by clicking “Détection de
mouvement [Motion detection]”:

1Tick "Ye s" to activate motion detection then
click "Sauvegarder [Save]" to display the
areagridontheimage.
2Sensitivity:On"élevée [high]",thesmallest
movement on the screen triggers an alert.
On"minimum",onlythe biggestobjectswill
triggeranalert (forexample:ahumanbeing,
but not a dead leaf in the camera's eld of
vision). Adjust to suit the camera's eld of
visionandthedesiredobjective.
3Trigger interval: pause between alerts if
motionisdetectedoveranextendedperiod
4Detection area: The camera feed appears
behind a grid. If motion is detected in a red
box,analertistriggered.Ifmotionisdetected
in a blank box, no alert is given. Click on
boxes to activate them (red) or deactivate
them(blank),forexample,soasnottofocus
ona windowandtopreventanythingon the
outsidefrombeingunnecessarilytriggered.
IMPORTANT:Whenyouhavenishedconguration,
do not forget to click “Sauvegarder [Save]” at
thetop of the screen to saveeverything you have
entered.
Thiscompletestheconguration.Fromnowon,any
motion detected by the camera in the zones and
atthetimesyouhavespeciedwilltriggeranemail
alert.
3 - CONFIGURATION USING A WEB
BROWSER
Warning: frequent policy changes made by the
mainwebbrowserdevelopersaswellasthenumber
of possible congurations and versions can make
it tricky to congure your camera. If possible, it is
preferabletouseasmartphone,tabletordedicated
software.
• InserttheinstallationCDprovidedintoareader
andruntheIPCameraSearchToolprogram:

• This will detect your camera on the network
andshowitsIPaddress.
• Double-clickonitsnametoopenthe camera
congurationinyourwebbrowser.
Your browser will need an additional module to
displaytheimagefromyourcameracorrectlyandwill
askyouifyouwanttoinstallit.Accepttherequestto
allowyourbrowsertodisplaytheimage:
Note:Dependingonwhichbrowseryouareusing,
the procedure may differ but the principle remains
thesame:youmustpermanentlyallowthe module
torunifyouwantyourcameratoworkproperlyin
yourbrowser.

Selectthedisplaylanguage,thenentertheusername
and password for connecting to your camera. The
defaultusernameisadminandthepasswordisleft
blank, so you should leave the eld empty. At the
rstconnection,thecamerawillimmediatelyaskyou
to replace the default username and password to
improvesecurity:
Whenyouhavenishedchangingtheusernameand
password,youwillbeaskedtologbackin.
