SET UP
1. Download the REEF-Cam App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Search
keyword "REEF-Cam", download, and install it on your smartphone/tablet.
GENERA INSTA ATION
1. Remove the protective film from the REEF-Cam camera lens (2).
2. Position the REEF-Cam inside your aquarium, in a location where
there is a good, unobstructed view, ensuring that it can also be easily
connected to the REEF-Cam WiFi hub (10).
3. Attach the mounting bracket (5a/5b) to the side of your aquarium
and EITHER turn the locking suction cup securing knob (6) in a
clockwise direction OR gently place the magnet holder on the
other side of the aquarium glass (depending on which mounting
bracket you have) until the REEF-Cam is fully secure.
4. Gently push the REEF-Cam cable (3) into the cable retaining slot
(7) and then use the cable securing suction clip (8) provided to
secure and tidy the connection cable on the side of the aquarium
(please see photo).
Please Note: The REEF-Cam should NOT be located in a position where it can come into
contact with sand or gravel or in any location where the camera lens could become scratched
or damaged. Only clean the REEF-Cam lens with a soft, clean cloth, NEVER with an algae pad
or scraper or any other abrasive material that could scratch or damage the lens.
Please Note: For optimum camera picture quality ensure the water clarity in your aquarium
is maintained at an optimum level at all times and the REEF-Cam lens is clean and free of algae
or detritus. Factors such as feeding, algal blooms, aquarium treatments, aquarium maintenance
and water turbidity will have a direct effect on the quality and clarity of the REEF-Cam picture.
Please Note: Bright lighting can affect the REEF-Cam’s ability to adjust to all of the varying
light levels in the aquarium. We recommend angling the camera downwards from the light
source to avoid this.
SETTING UP THE REEF-CAM WIFI HUB
1. Position and secure the REEF-Cam WiFi hub (10) so it can be easily connected to the
REEF-Cam cable (3) and where it cannot accidentally fall into the water or be splashed
with water.
2. Plug the REEF-Cam cable (3) into the camera cable USB connection port (14) on the
REEF-Cam WiFi hub ensuring you leave a drip loop in the cable as described earlier.
3. Plug the REEF-Cam PSU (9) into the PSU port (15) on the REEF-Cam WiFi hub ensuring
you leave a drip loop in the cable as described earlier.
4. If you plan to record video, insert a Micro SD memory card (not supplied) in the Micro SD
card slot (13) on the REEF-Cam WiFi hub (10).
5. Switch on the REEF-Cam PSU (9) and the power ON indicator (12) on the REEF-Cam
WiFi hub (10) will be illuminated.
Please Note: The picture and streaming quality of the REEF-Cam is dependent on many
different variables, such as the performance and speed of your internet connection, strength
of signal of wireless network, physical obstructions in the line of sight between the REEF-Cam
WiFi hub and the WiFi router and internet connection quality and speed on your receiving
device such as smartphone or tablet.
Please Note: The REEF-Cam WiFi hub can be directly connected to your wireless network
with an ethernet cable (not supplied). In some instances this may achieve better streaming
results. To connect via ethernet, simply plug the REEF-Cam WiFi hub directly into a spare
ethernet port on your router and follow the instructions below under “Network Connection
- Using Ethernet Cable”. You do not need to setup the WiFi network connection if using an
ethernet cable but this can be done at a later date, if required.

The picture quality and streaming on my REEF-Cam is not as good as I would expect
Please Note: The picture and streaming quality of the REEF-Cam is dependent on many
different variables, such as the performance and speed of your internet connection, strength of
signal of wireless network, physical obstructions in the line of sight between the REEF-Cam
WiFi hub and the WiFi router, and internet connection quality and speed on the receiving
smartphone or tablet.
1. Ensure the REEF-Cam lens is clean and free of algae or detritus. Only clean the REEF-Cam
lens with a soft, clean cloth, NEVER with an algae pad or scraper or any other abrasive
material that could scratch or damage the lens.
2. Check the speed of your internet connection and the signal strength of your wireless network.
