DESCRIPTION

TOA’s BA-800 Series of stereo dual cassette players/player
amplifiers is ideally suited for locations where enjoyable
background or foreground music is desired, including
shopping centers, offices, supermarkets and restaurants.
The series consists of three models: the BA-823 with a 2 x
30W, 4 Ω stereo output; the BA-806, featuring 60W of
monaural output at 4 Ω , or 10 Ω ; 25V/83 Ω ; 70V outputs; and
the BA-800 dual cassette player. Each model is ruggedly
constructed to provide dependable performance and
extended frequency response, for full-range, natural-
sounding playback.
The BA-800 Series delivers endless playback of up to two
pre-recorded cassettes. A track sequence switch adds
variety to double cassette playback. A no-voltage pulse
contact is provided for timer control operation.
When used with two C-90 tapes, 180 minutes of uninter-
rupted BGM/FGM is possible. In addition, four BA-800 units
may be linked to provide continuous eight-cassette playing
time of 720 minutes.
All models are equipped with two CU-800 auto-reverse
cassette play modules, which feature Dolby B-type noise
reduction and deliver up to 2,000 hours of play time. Each
unit houses a switchable AGC (Automatic Gain Control) to
function eliminates annoying periods of silence by automati-
cally skipping forward at top speed if an unrecorded
section more than ten seconds long is encountered during
playback. Optional kits allow the BA-800 Series to be
mounted on a standard EIA 19" cabinet rack.

SPECIFICATIONS
The equipment for endless playback of pre-recorded
cassettes shall be the TOA Stereo Double Cassette Player
(BA-800) or Player Amplifiers (BA-806/823). Either one or
two cassette tapes shall be used to provide endless play-
back. A Track Sequence switch shall select the playback
order of tape sides when two tapes are used. A no-voltage
momentary contact timer control shall be provided. Two C-
90 tapes shall provide up to 180 minutes of uninterrupted
playback. In addition, four BA-800 units may be linked to
provide continuous eight-cassette playing time of up to 720
minutes. The BA-806 shall have a 60W monaural output,
and the BA-823 shall have 2 x 30W stereo output.
The players shall accept Normal, Chrome or Metal cassette
tapes. A built-in AGC feature shall reduce variations in the
audio output level, and Dolby B-type noise reduction shall
reduce tape background noise. A Blank Skip function shall
be included to automatically bypass periods unrecorded
sections more th n
10 seconds long. Removable cassette
deck units shall be designed for easy maintenance and
replacement.
By using optionally available kits, the TOA BA-800/806/823
shall be able to be mounted on a standard EIA 19" cabinet
rack.
Notes:
1. The recording head’s appro x 2,000-hour effective playing Iife, expandable to 4,000 hrs
(8 hours per day for 500 days) by using two units alternatively.
2. The C-120 tapes (120 minutes’ recording time for both sides) and endless tapes are
not recommended because their tapes are extremely thin and can often be slack or
twist, leading to unstable operation.
The C-90 (90 minutes) and C-60 (60 minutes) are most commonly used.
