MP-1216
HANDLING PRECAUTIONS
The MP-1216's operating voltage is within 10% of your local power voltage (50/60 Hz).
Do not install the MP-1216 in locations which are subject to corrosive chemicals or salt water. Also, keep your
beverages away from the unit.
To avoid electric shocks, do not touch the unit's internal components. Always refer the servicing to your TOA
dealer.
FEATURES
The signal level meter allows simultaneous monitor of a maximum of 16 channels per unit.
Any of the high-impedance speaker line output, low-impedance speaker line output, and line level output can be
monitored by connecting it to the corresponding input.
One of the 16 channels can be monitored with an internal speaker or headphone.
By connecting two MP-1216 units, a maximum of 32 channels can be monitored.
NOMENCLATURE [Front Panel]
Headphone Jack (PHONES)
Use this jack for headphone-monitoring of the
channel selected with the channel selection
switch. No sound is output from the speaker
while this jack is used.
Speaker
Outputs the sound of the selected channel.
Level Meter (1~16)
Indicates the signal level of each channel.
Channel Indicator (1~16)
Indicates the current channel being monitored.
The 16th channel's indicator lights whenever the
power is switched ON.
Volume Control (OUTPUT)
Adjusts the sound volume of the speaker or
headphone.
Channel Selection Switch Indicator
Lights when the channel selection switch is
enabled, and is extinguished when the linkage
setting switch is set to SLAVE position.
Channel Selection Switch (CH SELECT)
Selects the channel to monitor.
Power Indicator
Lights when the power switch is set to ON, and
is extinguished when the switch is set to OFF.
Power Switch (POWER)
Press this switch to turn power ON. To turn
power OFF, press the switch again.
NOMENCLATURE [Rear Panel]
AC Fuse Holder
When replacing the fuse, be sure to use the
same type as that supplied with the MP-1216,
and having the following rating:
Fuse Rating :
220-240 V version : 250 V T250 mA
120V version : 250 V 1A
AC Power Cord
Linkage Socket (LINK)
Insert an optional linkage cable (YA-8) into this
socketwhen connecting two MP-1216units.
Linkage Setting Switch (INDE./MASTER/
SLAVE)
Set this switch to INDE. position when no other
MP-1216 unitis connected.
When connecting two units, set the switch of a
master unit to MASTER position, and the switch
of a slave unit to SLAVE position.
Input Terminals (1 ~16)
Connect a line signal to the LINE (H:Hot, C:Cold,
E:Earth) terminals, and a speaker signal to the
SP (+, - ) terminals.
When the line signal is of unbalanced type, short
between the "C" and "E" terminals with the
supplied jumper strip. In this case, if hum noise or
oscillation occurs through the created earth loop,
remove the jumper strip. Then, connect the line
signal to the"H" and "C" terminals. Mount the
terminal cover after completing all cable
connections.
Ground Terminal
Connects to the ground.
CONNECTION EXAMPLE
INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS
To avoid the possibility of oscillation or crosstalk, make the distance between the power amplifier input and output
lines as long as possible. High-impedance output lines, in particular, must also be kept as far away as possible
from the input terminals of other channels.
When rack-mounting the MP-1216 next above a power amplifier, place a blank panel of one-unit height between
the
two.
