beforeoperatingthemachine.Becomefamiliarwithallof

instruction.Onlytrainedoperatorswhohavereadthis

•Keepallshieldsandsafetydevicesinplace.Ifashield,
safetydevice,ordecalisillegibleordamaged,repairor

anyloosenuts,bolts,andscrewstoensurethatthe
machineisinsafeoperatingcondition.
•Donotoperatethemachinewhilewearingsandals.Also,
donotwearloosettingclothingwhichcouldgetcaught
inmovingparts.Alwayswearlongpantsandsubstantial
shoes.Wearingsafetyglassesandsafetyshoesisadvisable
andrequiredbysomelocalordinancesandinsurance
regulations.
WhileOperating
••Thisproductmayexceednoiselevelsof85dB(A)atthe
operatorposition.Hearingprotectionisrecommended
forprolongedexposuretoreducethepotentialof
permanenthearingdamage.
•Usingthemachinedemandsattention.Topreventloss
ofcontrol:
–Operateonlyindaylightorwhenthereisgood
articiallight.
–Driveslowlyandwatchforholesorotherhidden
hazards.
–Donotdriveclosetoasandtrap,ditch,creek,or
otherhazard.
–Reduceyourspeedwhenmakingsharpturnsand
whenturningonhillsides.
–Avoidsuddenstartsandstops.
–Beforebackingup,looktotherearandensurethat
nooneisbehindthemachine.
–Watchoutfortrafcwhennearorcrossingroads.
Alwaysyieldtheright-of-way.
•Lightningcancausesevereinjuryordeath.Iflightning
isseenorthunderisheardinthearea,donotoperate
themachine;seekshelter.
•Stayawayfromthedischargeopeningwhenthemachine
isoperating.Keepallbystandersawayfromthedischarge
openinganddon’tdirectdischargetowardbystanders.
•Iftheenginestallsorthemachinelosesheadwayand
cannotmakeittothetopofaslope,donotturnthe
machinearound.Alwaysbackslowlystraightdownthe
slope.
•Donottakeaninjuryrisk!Whenapersonorpet
appearsunexpectedlyinorneartheoperatingarea,stop
operation.Carelessoperation,combinedwithterrain
angles,ricochets,orimproperlypositionedguardscan
leadtothrownobjectinjuries.Donotresumeoperation
untiltheareaiscleared.
•Lowertheblowertothegroundandremovethekey
fromtheignitionswitchwheneverthemachineisleft
unattended.
Maintenance
•Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchtoprevent
accidentalstartingoftheenginewhenservicing,adjusting,
orstoringthemachine.
•Performonlythosemaintenanceinstructionsdescribedin
thismanual.Ifmajorrepairsareeverneededorassistance
isdesired,contactanAuthorizedToroDistributor.
•Besurethatthemachineisinsafeoperatingcondition
bykeepingnuts,bolts,andscrewstight.Checkallbolts
andnutsfrequentlytobesurethattheyaretightenedto
specication.
•Toensureoptimumperformanceandsafety,always
purchasegenuineTororeplacementpartsandaccessories
tokeepthemachineallToro.Neveruse"will-t"
replacementpartsandaccessoriesmadebyother
manufacturers.LookfortheTorologotoensure
genuineness.Usingunapprovedreplacementpartsand
accessoriescouldvoidthewarranty.
Hauling
•Usecarewhenloadingorunloadingthemachineintoa
trailerortruck.
•Tiethemachinedownsecurelyusingstraps,chains,cable,
orropes.Bothfrontandrearstrapsshouldbedirected
downandoutwardfromthemachine

1.Withthebloweronalevelsurface,lowertheblower
untiltheinputshaftisapproximatelythesameheight
asthetractorPTOshaft.
Note:Thisistheshortestdistancebetweenthe2
shafts.
2.Measurethedistancefromthelockgrooveof
thetractorPTOshafttothelockgrooveatthe
blower-inputshaft.

3.FullycollapsethePTOshaftandmeasurethedistance
betweenthelockpincollars.

4.Attheshortestlengthoftheshaft,the2halvesofthe

(1inch)oneachside.

blowermountingplates(Figure7).
Note:Thiswillreducethestressonthepins.Ifthe
tractorhasswaychainsinsteadofswaylinks,installthe
washersbetweenthelowerlinkarmandlynchpinto
reducetheoverhungloadontheliftpins.
