To ensure that you use this Software App ication correct y, read this Instruction Manua carefu y before you start
using the Software App ication.
This document has been written assuming that you basica y understand how to use the Toshiba PDR-3300 Digita
Sti Camera and your persona computer that the Software App ication is running on.
For basic detai s on the PDR-3300 and your persona computer, refer to the Toshiba PDR-3300 Digita Sti
Cameras Instruction Manua or the Instruction Manua for your persona computer.

¥Do not remove SD Memory Card from your camera or your PC card adapter unti USB connection is proper y
terminated between the computer and the camera.
¥At Windows 2000, software insta ation is required on Administrator mode.

¥On Macintosh OS X, the images reviewed via ACDSee software cannot be copied or moved to another storage
media.
¥Using [Copy to Camera] features, the image thumbnai disp ay cannot correct y disp ay.

Features of This Software Application
If you insta the software and drivers on your persona computer, you can perform the fo owing:
¥Importing Images
You can import images taken on the Toshiba PDR-3300 Digita Sti Camera into your persona computer.
To import images, you need to use the USB cab e (packaged with this camera), or PC card adapter.
¥Editing Sti Images
You can edit imported sti images using ACDSee, or print them out on a printer connected to the persona
computer you are using.
¥P aying Movies
You can p ay imported movies.
¥Saving Images
You can save imported images or edited images on the persona computer you are using.
When You se SD Memory Card on Your Personal Computer
¥When you use SD Memory Card on your persona computer, do not change or de ete the fo der or names of fi es
(image data) on the SD Memory Card. Otherwise, you may no onger be ab e to use the SD Memory Card on the
PDR-3300.
¥
Format the
SD Memory Card
on the PDR-3300.
¥
To edit image data, first copy the image data to the persona computers hard disk, and edit the copied image
data.

About Files
File Structure of SD Memory Card
The images taken on the Toshiba PDR-3300 Digita Sti Camera are stored to the SD Memory Card as shown
be ow.

About Still Picture Data
On the PDR-3300, sti image data is saved in Exif format. This format is JPEG data that inc udes a thumbnai
image and the photographic settings.
Sti image data is saved as fo ows as shown on page 6:
Fo der name : XXXTOSHI (XXX is any number within the range 100 to 999)
Fi e name : PDR_XXXX (XXXX is any number within the range 0001 to 9999)
About Movie Data
Movie data is saved in the fo owing format on the PDR-3300:
Fi e format : AVI
Movie size : 320 x 240 or 160 x 120
Movie codec : Motion-JPEG

About the Software
You can insta the fo owing software from the CD-ROM:
¥ACDSee
This software a ows you to edit and print imported sti images and to p ayback movies.
¥USB driver(for Windows 98 on y)
This USB driver provided on the CD-ROM is exc usive y for Windows 98. Insta ing the USB driver for use in
Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP and Macintosh is not necessary.
¥Direct X

Installing ACDSee
Insert the CD-ROM s pplied with this software package into the CD-ROM drive.
The screen for selecting the display lang age appears.

Install this driver when the USB cable(provided) is sed. (The USB driver provided on the CD-ROM is
excl sively for Windows 98. Installing the USB driver for se in Windows 2000/ME/XP is not
necessary.)
Insert the CD-ROM s pplied with this
software package into the CD-ROM drive.

Using USB Cables (Windows 98/2000/ME/XP
To enable importing of images on the PDR-3300 to yo r personal comp ter, the PDR-3300 m st be connected to
yo r personal comp ter by USB cable(provided).
When yo connect the PDR-3300 to yo r personal comp ter by USB cable, the connection can only be made with
both the PDR-3300 and yo r personal comp ter t rned ON. The USB connection will be a tomatically recognized
by the comp ter.
Connectable personal comp ter: Windows 98/2000/ME/XP pre-installed machine

¥If the cameras power is t rned OFF while image data is being transferred to the PC, the data may be damaged. When
the PDR-3300 is connected to the personal comp ter, se the AC adapter.
Connect one end of the USB cable to the DIGITAL terminal on the PDR-3300.
Connect the large end of the USB cable to the USB port on yo r personal comp ter.
Perform the following operation with Windows 98/2000/ME/XP already booted p.
When the icon appears on the Windows task bar, it means the USB cable is
s ccessf lly connected.
If this is the first time for an image to be imported sing the USB cable, the Add New
Hardware Wizard screen appears. Install USB driver.

Follow the on-screen instr ctions to perform the driver installation.
It is added as a Removable Disk as the standard Windows 2000/ME/XP driver is installed.

When connecting the USB cable, pay attention to insert the connector in a proper direction.
If CamDetect f nction is active ( icon will appear on Windows task bar), ACDSee
software will be a tomatically la nched.
If CamDetect icon is not active, yo can open the Camera Detector program:
a.Click the [Start] men .
b.Select [Programs|ACD Systems].
c.Click CamDetect.

Once ACDSee starts p, it will a tomatically open the existing XXXTOSHI s bfolder
stored in DCIM folder. The Removable disk is a tomatically appeared once cameras
power ON after USB connection is s ccessf lly accomplished between the camera
and the comp ter.
Download the images.
<To download all images>Go to [Edit|Select All Files]
All the images are being highlighted. Drag and drop those images to copy on yo r
hard disk.

Copying images to Camera
Start p ACDSee.
Click [Start]-[Program]-[ACD Systems]-[ACDSee] on the Windows task bar.
Select images that yo wish to copy to the camera.
Go to [Pl g-ins| Copy to Camera]
Copy Image To Camera will appear.
Choose Camera so rce, select PDR-3300 camera [TOSHIBA PDR on G:]
Select the options on Resize Images:
¥Best fit to standard camera resol tions
If the c rrent image size between
640x480 ~ 1024x768, it will resize
to 640x480.
If the c rrent image size is bigger than
1024x768, it will resize to 1024x768.
¥Resize for TV viewing
The c rrent image size will be a tomatically
resize to 1024x768.
¥Do not resize
It will remain at the original size and the copied
images may not properly display on the camera.

Click OK
After copying images process completed, one XXXACDSE folder will be
a tomatically created on the Folder tree pane.
XXXACDSE folder is created next to the last existing XXXTOSHI folder on the
Folder tree pane.
Memo
[Do not resize] option on [Copy to Camera] f nction, the copied images may not properly
display on the camera.

To copy images to Camera
Start up ACDSee.
C ick [Start]-[Program]-[ACD Systems]-[ACDSee] on the Windows task bar.
Se ect images that you wish to copy to the camera.
Drag and drop se ected images to copy to DCIM fo der on Removab e disk(G:)
The warning message wi pop out,

¥Best fit to standard camera reso utions
If the current image size between
640x480 ~ 1024x768, it wi resize
to 640x480.
If the current image size is bigger than
1024x768, it wi resize to 1024x768.

General Operations
General Operations
ACDSee is a program composed of three main windows which work to manage view and manipulate your images.
The Browse Window
It presents an Explorer-like
interface that lets you locate and manage images
stored in your file system. By default this
window comes up when you start ACDSee. You
can open more than one Browser at a time by
going to [File | New Window].
Several customization features allow you to
choose the windowpanes the toolbars and the
shortcut buttons you wish to use.
The View Window
It lets you view a selected
sequence of images one at a time. Slide show
zoom and some file management features are also
available in this window. To switch between the
Browse window and the View window doubleclick
an image file in the Browser or select an
image and press the <Enter> key.
Clicking the Browse button double -clicking
the image or pressing <Enter> will return you to
Browse mode.
