Smart Key system
START FUNCTION
POWER (WITHOUT STARTING VEHICLE)
NOTE: The Smart Key must be carried to enable the start function. With the
shift lever in P and the brake pedal depressed (automatic transmission)/with
the shift lever in N and the clutch pedal depressed (manual transmission),
press the power button.
Without depressing the brake pedal (automatic transmission)/ the clutch pedal
(manual transmission), pressing the power button will change the operation mode
in succession from:

inside lock button. Unlock the doors using the entry function, wireless remote
control, or door lock switch.
NOTE: Tighten until one click is heard. If the cap is not tightened enough, the

Lights & turn signals
Daytime Running Light system (DRL)
Automatically turns on under certain conditions to make vehicle more visible to other
drivers. Not for use at night. (The parking brake needs to be released and the headlight
switch must be in the “”, “ ” or “ ” position while the vehicle is on and the
shift lever is shifted out of P.)
Automatic light cut off system
Headlights are in “”: The headlights and taillights will turn off automatically 30
seconds after the vehicle is turned from ON to OFF and a door is opened and closed.
(If the “”switch on the Smart Key remote is pressed twice after both side doors are
closed, the lights will turn off immediately.)
To turn the lights on again, turn the vehicle is ON, or turn the light switch off once and
then back to “”or “ ”.
High Beam Assist*
Automatically switches between high and low beams as appropriate to enhance vision
at night.
Refer to the section “High Beam Assist” in this guide or the “Owner’s Manual” for more
details on the High Beam Assist feature.

SRH (STEERING RESPONSIVE HEADLIGHTS) (IF EQUIPPED)
* Move the lever partway and hold. The signals will flash until the lever is released.
The SRH (Steering Responsive Headlights) is a function which, according to the
steering wheel operation and vehicle speed when the vehicle is being driven
forward, automatically adjusts the angle of the headlights to illuminate intersections
and corners, improving visibility.
This function operates when the vehicle speed is 5 mph (8 km/h) or higher.
Press MID control switches to turn off the
system.
When the SRH is off, the SRH OFF
indicator will illuminate.

Steering lock release
When the steering lock cannot be released, “Locked. Press Power Button While
Turning Steering Wheel” will be displayed on the Multi-Information Display (MID).
Check that the shift lever is in P (automatic transmission) or N (manual
transmission). Press the power button while turning the steering wheel left and right.
Hold the steering wheel, push the lever down, set angle and length, and return the
lever.
NOTE: Do not attempt to adjust while the vehicle is in motion.
