User Manual
FUNCTIONS AND USE
In order to locate your pet with Tractive®GPS 3G, a PC with internet connection or a
smartphone (iPhone, Android) is required. The Tractive®GPS app can be downloaded
from the Apple App Store for iOS and the Google Play Store for Android.
The Tractive®GPS 3G device can only be used after successful activation on your
smartphone or through a web browser.
GETTING STARTED
1. CHARGING THE DEVICE
We recommend to fully charge the Tractive® GPS 3G device before its rst use.
• Connect Tractive®GPS 3G to a power outlet by plugging the included USB charger
into the USB power adapter or
• connect to a high-power USB 2.0 port using the included USB charger.
The LED on the Tractive®GPS 3G device will turn red while the device is charging. Once
the device is fully charged, the red light will disappear.
Some USB ports and accessories do not provide enough power and Tractive®GPS 3G
will charge more slowly.

2. DEVICE ACTIVATION
Activation of the Tractive®GPS 3G device requires the device to be turned on. Keep
the power button on the device pressed for around 3 seconds. Once you hear 2 short
ascending beeps and see a green light, the device has succesfully been turned on.
Holding the button again for 3 seconds will turn off the device. In order to get GPS
reception, ensure that the device is located outside of buildings and under clear sky.
Enter the link below into the address bar of your browser to access the Tractive®
website, which will guide you through the step by step activation of your Tractive®
GPS 3G device: tractive.com/activate
3. DOWNLOAD TRACTIVE®GPS APP
The Tractive® GPS app will guide you through the rst steps of adding a pet and
assigning a new Tractive®GPS 3G device to the pet.
Note: After turning on the Tractive® GPS 3G device for the rst time or after a period
of inactivity, it can take a few minutes until the device is ready to use. To speed up
this process, turn on the device and make sure it’s placed under clear sky away from
buildings, trees and electrical towers.
4. ATTACHING TRACTIVE®GPS 3G TO A PET COLLAR
Clip the Tractive®GPS 3G device on the harness or the collar of your pet by using the
included clips. The clips are made for different collars: use the one with an B at the back
for collars with a thickness up to 3 mm and the one with an A at the back for collars with
a thickness up to 5 mm.

LED WARNINGS
The LED located on the top of the Tractive®GPS 3G device indicates the current status
of the device.
Battery is low (red LED ashes 3 times every 15 seconds)
The battery level of the Tractive®GPS 3G device is low. Fully recharge the device
to get the best tracking results.
LIVE Tracking (white LED ashes)
During a LIVE tracking activity the LED ashes in white. This allows you to locate
your pet easier at night time.
DEVICE STATUS
By pressing the on/off button once, the cellular network and GPS status of the device will
be shown using 2 consecutive ashes.

In case of an error, please bring the device into an area with Tractive®coverage. In
order to get GPS reception, ensure that the device is fully charged and located outside
of buildings and under clear sky. It might take a few minutes for the device to get a GPS
connection after it has been turned on.

ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY
Very strong magnetic elds (e.g. transformers) should always be avoided as this may result in variations in
the transmission. Failure to follow these instructions may lead to malfunctions or damage to your Tractive®
GPS 3G device.
RISKS FOR CHILDREN AND PEOPLE IN NEED OF CARE
The use of this device is not intended for people (including children) with limited physical, sensory or
mental abilities or lack of experience and/or lack of knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person
responsible for their safety or have been instructed on the use of the device.
Note: Some countries, states or regions have laws related to location based tracking of people,
animals and objects. It’s the sole responsibility of the owner and user to abide by the law and rules in
the area the Tractive® GPS 3G device is used.
SAFETY ADVICE
Important: The Tractive®GPS 3G device might be too large or heavy for small or injured pets.
If you are unsure whether you can use this device with your pet, we highly recommend consulting a pet
doctor or veterinarian.
BATTERY OPERATION
Your transmitter is operated by a rechargeable lithium polymer battery. Below you will nd some advice on
the use of rechargeable batteries:
• The battery of the Tractive®GPS 3G device cannot be replaced and must not be removed.
• Batteries may not be disassembled, thrown into re or short-circuited.
• Never expose the Tractive® GPS 3G device to excessive heat such as sunshine, re or the like! This
increases the danger of battery leakage.
• Only use the USB cable that came with your Tractive®GPS 3G device. The use of other cables might
overcharge the battery and can lead to re or explosion.
Disregarding these instructions can cause damage and possibly even cause the battery to explode.

DISPOSAL
Batteries are hazardous waste. For the correct disposal of batteries, appropriate
containers are provided at the premises of commercial battery dealers as well as
local council waste disposal facilities. If you want to dispose of your Tractive®GPS 3G
device, follow the current local provisions at the time. Information may be obtained from
the local council waste disposal facility.

FUNKTIONEN UND EINSATZMÖGLICHKEIT
Um die Positionsortung Ihres Hausiers zu ermöglichen, benötigen Sie einen PC mit
Internetzugang und/oder ein Smartphone (iPhone, Android) und die zugehörige Tractive®
GPS App, erhältlich im Apple App Store bzw. Google Play Store.
Das Tractive®GPS 3G Ortungsgerät kann erst nach erfolgreicher Aktivierung am
Smartphone oder in einem Browser verwendet werden.
INBETRIEBNAHME
1. AUFLADEN DES GERÄTS
Wir empfehlen, das Gerät vor der ersten Aktivierung vollständig aufzuladen.
• Laden Sie Tractive GPS®3G an einer Steckdose, indem Sie das USB Ladegerät mit
dem USB Netzteil verbinden, oder
• schließen Sie das USB Ladegerät an einen Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Port an.
Während des Ladevorgangs leuchtet das rote Licht auf. Sobald das Gerät vollständig
geladen ist, erlischt das LED am Gerät.
Beim Laden über einen USB Port kann sich die Ladezeit signikant verlängern.

2. AKTIVIEREN DES GERÄTS
Fügen Sie den Link: www.tractive.com/activate in die Adressleiste Ihres Browsers
ein, um zur Tractive®Homepage zu gelangen, welche Sie Schritt für Schritt bei der
Aktivierung des Gerätes begleitet.
Um das Gerät zu aktivieren, muss das Gerät durch langes Drücken (ca. 3 sek)
des Schalters eingeschaltet werden. Dies wird durch das Ertönen von 2 kurzen
aufsteigenden Tönen und grünem Licht bestätigt. Durch erneutes langes Drücken kann
das Gerät wieder ausgeschaltet werden. Um den GPS Empfang zu verbessern, stellen
Sie sicher, dass sich das Tractive®GPS 3G außerhalb von Gebäuden und unter freiem
Himmel bendet.
3. EINSTELLUNG IN DER TRACTIVE®GPS APP
Die Tractive®GPS App wird Sie Schritt für Schritt beim Anlegen eines Tieres und
Hinzufügen des Tractive GPS®3G Ortungsgeräts unterstützen.
Hinweis: Bei der ersten Verwendung des Tractive GPS®3G Ortungsgeräts, bzw.
nach längerer Inaktivität kann die erste Positionsortung einige Minuten dauern. Um
diesen Vorgang zu beschleunigen, schalten Sie das Gerät ein und positionieren Sie
es unter freiem Himmel, möglichst weg von Gebäuden und Stromleitungen.
4. ANBRINGEN DES TRACTIVE GPS®ORTUNGSGERÄTS AM TIER
Klippen Sie den Tractive GPS®3G Tracker mithilfe der mitgelieferten Klammern an
das Geschirr oder Halsband Ihres Tieres. Verwenden Sie die mit B gekennzeichnete
Klammer für Halsbänder bis 3 mm Stärke und die mit A gekennzeichnete Klammer für
Halsbänder bis 5 mm Stärke.

LED HINWEISE
Die auf der Oberseite des Tractive®GPS 3G Ortungsgeräts angebrachte LED leuchtet in
Abhängigkeit des aktuellen Zustandes in verschiedenen Farben.
Batterie nahezu leer (Rote LED blinkt 3x alle 15 Sekunden)
Der Batteriestatus des Tractive®GPS 3G Ortungsgerätes ist niedrig. Laden Sie
das Gerät auf, um bestmögliche Ortungsergebnisse zu erhalten.
LIVE Tracking (Weiße LED blinkt)
Während der LIVE Trackingaktivität leuchtet die weiße LED in kurzen Abständen.
Dies hilft beim Suchen des Haustiers im Dunkeln.
GERÄTESTATUS
Durch einen kurzen Druck auf den Ein/Ausschaltknopf kann der Gerätestatus angezeigt
werden. Das System signalisiert den Status in zwei hintereinander folgenden LEDs:
Netzwerk vorhanden - GPS vorhanden
Netzwerk vorhanden - kein GPS vorhanden
kein Netzwerk vorhanden - GPS vorhanden
kein Netzwerk vorhanden - kein GPS vorhanden
Sollte ein Fehlerfall auftreten, bringen Sie das Gerät in eine Zone mit Netzabdeckung
von Tractive®. Um den GPS Empfang zu verbessern, stellen Sie sicher, dass sich das
Tractive®GPS 3G in geladenem Zustand außerhalb von Gebäuden und unter freiem
Himmel bendet.

Sehr starke Magnetfelder (z.B. Transformatoren) müssen unbedingt gemieden werden, da sonst
Abweichungen in der Übertragung entstehen können. Das Nichtbeachten dieser Hinweise kann zu
Störungen oder zur Beschädigung des Tractive®GPS 3G Ortungsgeräts führen.

BATTERIEBETRIEB
Das Tractive®GPS 3G Ortungsgerät wird mit einem integrierten Lithium-Polymer-Akku betrieben, welcher
nicht ausgetauscht werden kann. Nachstehend nden Sie einige Hinweise zum Umgang mit Akkus:
• Der Akku des Tractive®GPS 3G Ortungsgeräts ist nicht austauschbar und darf nicht entfernt werden.
• Halten Sie das Tractive®GPS 3G Ortungsgerät von Hitzequellen oder Umgebungen mit hohen
Temperaturen fern, wie z.B. direkter Sonneneinstrahlung in einem Fahrzeug.
• Das Tractive®GPS 3G Ortungsgerät darf nicht durchbohrt oder verbrannt werden.
• Laden Sie den Akku des Tractive®GPS 3G Ortungsgeräts nur über das mitgelieferte USB-Kabel auf.
Wird der Akku anders geladen, kann es zu Überhitzung, Explosion oder Feuer führen.

ENTSORGUNG
Batterien sind Sondermüll. Zur sachgerechten Batterieentsorgung stehen im
batterievertreibenden Handel sowie den kommunalen Sammelstellen entsprechende
Behälter bereit. Wenn Sie sich von Ihrem Tractive®GPS 3G Ortungsgerät trennen
möchten, entsorgen Sie dieses zu den aktuellen Bestimmungen. Auskunft erteilt die
kommunale Stelle.

FONCTIONS ET UTILISATION
An de permettre la localisation de votre animal domestique ou des animaux d’élevage,
vous avez besoin d’un ordinateur avec accès à l’Internet et/ou d’un Smartphone (iPhone,
Android) ainsi que l’application Tractive® GPS correspondante, disponible dans l’Apple
App Store ou sur Google Play Store.
Le dispositif Tractive® GPS 3G peut être utilisé seulement après son réussie activation
depuis smartphone ou navigateur.
MISE EN SERVICE
1. CHARGER L’APPAREIL
Nous recommandons de charger l’appareil complètement avant la première utilisation.
• Connecter le dispositif Tractive® GPS 3G à une prise électrique en branchant le
chargeur USB inclus à un adaptateur d’alimentation USB Universal inclus ou
• connecter le chargeur USB inclus à une porte USB 2.0 à haute puissance.
Pour charger le dispositif, attachez la pince du câble de charge à l’appareil, comme
indiqué dans l’illustration. Pendant le chargement, vous verrez des clignotements
rouges. Une fois que l’appareil est chargé, la lumière rouge s’éteindra. Certains portes
USB et certains accessoires ne sont pas équipés d’une puissance assez sufsante et le
dispositif Tractive® GPS 3G pourrais nécessiter plus de temps pour se charger.

2. ACTIVER LE DISPOSITIF
Pour activer le dispositif, il faut que l’appareil soit allumé. Pour se faire, appuyez sur
le bouton d’alimentation pendant environ 3 secondes. Quand vous entendez 2 bips
courts et voyez une lumière verte, l’appareil est alors en marche. Pour avoir une bonne
réception GPS, veuillez vous assurer que l’appareil est à l’extérieur par temps clair.
Insérez le lien suivant dans la barre d’adresse de votre navigateur et rendez vous sur le
site Internet de Tractive, qui vous conduira étape par étape pour activer votre Tractive®
GPS 3G. www.tractive.com/activate
3. RÉGLAGES DE L’APPLICATION TRACTIVE®GPS
L’application vous guidera pendant les premières étapes pour ajouter un animal et
attribuer un nouveau dispositif Tractive® GPS 3G à un animal.
Note: Après avoir allumé le dispositif Tractive® GPS 3G pour la première fois ou
après un certain temps d’inactivité, l’activation de l’appareil peut prendre quelques
minutes jusqu’à ce qu’il soit prêt à être utilisé. Pour accélérer ce processus, allumez
l’appareil et assurez-vous qu’il est placé dans un endroit dégagé, loin de bâtiments,
d’arbres et de pylônes électriques.
4. ATTACHER LE DISPOSITIF TRACTIVE®GPS 3G À UN COLLIER POUR
ANIMAUX DOMESTIQUES
Fixez Tractive® GPS 3G sur l’harnais ou le collier de votre animal en utilisant les clips
inclus. Les clips sont faits pour diverses colliers: utiliser l’un avec un B à l’arrière pour
les colliers avec une épaisseur de 3 mm et celui avec un A à l’arrière pour les colliers
avec une épaisseur jusqu’à 5 mm.

SIGNAUX LUMINEUX
La LED située sur le dessus du Tractive® GPS 3G indique le statut actuel de l’appareil.
La batterie est faible (la LED rouge s’allume 3 fois toutes les 15 secondes)
Le niveau de la batterie de l’appareil Tractive®GPS 3G est faible. Rechargez
l’appareil pour avoir de meilleurs résultats pour le suivi.
LIVE Tracking (lumière blanche qui clignote)
Pendant le LIVE Tracking, la LED s’allume en blanc. Cela vous permet de localiser
votre animal facilement durant la nuit.
STATUT DE L’APPAREIL
En pressant le bouton on/off, le statut du réseau mobile et du GPS sera afché grâce à
2 ashs consécutifs.

En cas d’erreur, veuillez placer l’appareil dans une zone couverte par Tractive®. Pour
avoir une bonne réception GPS, veuillez vous assurer que l’appareil est chargé au
maximum et qu’il est à l’extérieur par temps clair. Cela peut prendre quelques minutes
pour avoir une connexion GPS après avoir éteint l’appareil.
