Maintenance and Trouble Shooting Trangia Gas burner Artno 742527
If your stove starts “coughing“or burning unclean, it usually results from debris in the jet or fuel line to the jet.
This can also be the case even if the burner is brand new due to manufacture debris. You should also try another
cartridge since they also can contain debris which clogs the burner. Perform the following steps to clean the
system. Also take out the directions for your burner to see how to take it apart and for more information.
You find the directions here: https://trangia.se/en/technical-data/directions-for-use/
Please note! You should from the beginning regularly open your burner and do maintenance. This prevents the
threaded flame spreader to get stuck and keeps the jet and fuel line clean and open.
Cleaning
- Fully turn off the control knob and unscrew the cartridge.
- Unscrew the burner/flame spreader
- Unscrew the Jet Nipple from the valve using an 8 mm spanner.
- Clean out the Jet Nipple by blowing through the tiny hole at the front. Check against a source of light that you
see the hole. Do not use an incorrect size picker or any type of pin etc. to clean the blockage or you may
damage the hole and make the appliance unsafe. If you use a cleaning needle the Jet is 0,37 mm.
- Open the control knob completely and blow through the hose. Is it blocked, use compressed air.
- Re-fit the Jet Nipple and screw it tightly to ensure a gas seal.
- Re screw the burner/flame spreader tightly.
- Check the O-ring sealing is in place and in good condition.
Cartridges to use
This appliance shall be used with Primus Propane/Butane mix cartridges 2202, 2206 and 2207 or other gas
cartridges with threaded valves according to EN417 containing propane/butane gas mixtures.
Please note! Only use high quality gas from well-known brands. Others can be unclean and leave debris and
clog the jet and fuel line.
