Weatherproofing the Installation
This appliance is designed to withstand being installed outdoors in the elements; however, the enclosure will need
to be designed and constructed to withstand the same. The builder must provide a means for water to escape the
enclosure that is appropriate and specific to the site of the installation. This may necessitate improving ground
drainage, the fabrication of a drain pan, the creation of weep holes in the base of the enclosure, or building a roof
over the appliance (covers over the appliance must meet all the requirements detailed in this manual).
Appliance Placement Requirements
! For Outdoor Use Only. Install in well-ventilated areas.
WARNING
The appliance is considered to be “outdoors” if installed with shelter no more inclusive than:
Walls on all sides, but with no overhead cover.
Within a partial enclosure that includes an
overhead cover and no more than two sidewalls.
The sidewalls may be parallel, as in a breezeway,
or at right angles to each other.
Within a partial enclosure that includes an
overhead cover and three sidewalls, as long as 30
percent or more of the horizontal periphery of the
enclosure is permanently open.
The appliance must be installed on a level surface capable of supporting the appliance's weight.
The appliance must be placed directly on wood or non-combustible surface.
The appliance should be located out of traffic and away from furniture and draperies.
The distance from the top of the burner to a ceiling above the appliance must be a minimum of 65" (1651mm) for
