Only qualified personnel may install, operate, maintain and service this equipment. The following symbols may appear to warn

CAUTION This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of
the appliance by person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the

This appliance is classified as APPLIANCE NOT ACCESSIBLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. If the supply cord is damaged, it

A user-supplied all-pole disconnection device which has at least 0.118 in. (3 mm) separation distance in all-pole and a

2.1 Introduction
Because IT rooms generate high concentrations of heat and operate 24/7 x 365, specially designed cooling systems such as
the SmartRack®Precision In-Row Series provide high-density, predictable and reliable cooling. Each In-Row Cooler (indoors)
connects to a condenser (outdoors). By this method, the In-Row Cooler accumulates heat from IT equipment and rejects it to
the outdoors without the need for ductwork or complex cooling infrastructure.
The SmartRack®In-Row SRCOOLDXRW12 and SRCOOLDXRW25 Cooling Systems are precision, split type, DX, air-cooled
systems. They require copper piping connections to bridge the In-Row Cooler (indoors) and condenser (outdoors). No ductwork
or raised floor is required.
As a result, these are dedicated cooling systems, meaning the design allows them to operate independently of the building’s
HVAC / comfort cooling system.
The system must be installed by a professional HVAC installer.

2.2 Home Screen
• Supply Air Temp: The current temperature of the discharge air.
Note: If setting the control mode to Return Air, this setting becomes “Return Air Temp.”
• Humidity: The current relative humidity of the return air.
• Dehumidification: The status of the dehumidification system. It will display “ON” when the return air humidity exceeds the
humidity setting + the humidity band.
• Fan: The current total fan speed expressed as a percent of max cumulative airflow.
Note: If max fan speed is set to 80%, for example, the home screen will only show up to 80%.
• Cooling Operation: The current cooling output as a percent of rated capacity.
• Maintenance Mode: The control button to toggle Maintenance Mode. (Must be enabled in user settings.) Refer to
Maintenance Mode section for more information.
•Unit Cooler On/Off: The control button to turn the In-Row Cooler on or off.
• Unit Status: The current cooling status of the In-Row Cooler, specifically whether the compressor is engaged. The In-Row
Cooler status is on when the compressor is running and is on standby when the compressor is off.
Note: When in standby, the fans may still rotate to help circulate air.
• Language: The language selection for the user interface.

2.2.1 Settings Menu
The default password is 4321 for User 1.
• Temp setting: The desired temperature of the discharge air.
Note: If setting the control mode to Return Air, this setting becomes “Return Air Temp.”
• Temp control band: It is recommended to leave this at the default setting of 5.4°F (3.0°C) except for low-load situations.
If the IT load is less than the In-Row Cooler minimum capacity or if the IT load often changes, set a higher band to keep
the room temperature stable. A higher band can help reduce the number of compressor on/off cycles. For this, the
recommended setting is 5.4° to 10°F (3° to 6°C).
If the IT load is greater than the In-Row Cooler minimum capacity or if the room IT load is stable, consider setting the band
to its default or even lower to optimize temperature precision. Recommended setting: 3.6° to 5.4°F (2° to 3°C).
• Humidity setting: The target relative humidity of the dehumidification system.
Note: the In-Row Cooler cannot add humidity to the air.
• Upper humid control band: The allowable range above the humidity setting. For example, a delta of 20% RH at a humidity
setting of 50% RH would mean the dehumidification cycle would initiate when the humidity rises above 70% RH.
• High/low temp alarm band: If the discharge temperature exceeds/falls below this value, an alarm is triggered.
Note: If setting Control Mode to Return Air, you MUST ADJUST this setting to be based off of the return air temperature instead.
• High humid alarm band: If the return air humidity exceeds the humidity setting + the high humid band setting, an alarm is
triggered. For example, if the user humidity setting is 50% and the user wants the high humidity alarm to trigger at 80% RH,
set this to 30%. If dehumidification mode is enabled, a high-humidity alarm will engage dehumidification mode.
• Enable maintenance: Allows the ability to engage Maintenance Mode from the home screen.
Note: this allows Maintenance Mode to be engaged from the home screen without a password.
• Maintenance running time: Maintenance Mode duration. If the user does not turn off Maintenance Mode from the home
screen, the In-Row Cooler will automatically revert to normal operation after this time.

• Control Mode:
• Supply air (default): The cooling control strategy will be based off the temperature of the discharge air.
• Return air: The cooling control strategy will be based off the temperature of the entering air.
Note: If the load is lower than 30% of rated cooling capacity, which may cause frequent In-Row Cooler on/off cycling, it is
recommended to set Control Mode to “Return Air.” Otherwise, set Control Mode to “Supply Air.”
• Restart delay time: Restart delay after restoring power. If power is lost, the In-Row Cooler will automatically restart after
this delay time.
Set up group control to ensure redundancy if there is a cooling fault or to balance run hours to ensure average run hours
across all In-Row Coolers is similar:
• Standby Unit IP: The IP address of the standby air conditioner. The master In-Row Cooler will send commands to this IP
address. If configured as a standby In-Row Cooler, an IP address is not needed.
• This Unit: Designates whether the In-Row Cooler is a master or standby In-Row Cooler. Each standby In-Row Cooler must
have a corresponding master.
• Master Control: Recommended setting is “Enabled.” When enabled, this means the standby In-Row Cooler will be running
the same control modes as the master to prevent demand fighting. Control modes are: cooling and dehumidifying.
• Rotation Time: Number of days each In-Row Cooler should operate until rotating to the next one.
• Rotation: When enabled, this means after the rotation time expires, the master In-Row Cooler will stand by and the existing
standby In-Row Cooler will resume. This helps balance the run hours between each In-Row Cooler.
Note: In-Row coolers will not rotate if the heat load demands additional cooling.
• Force On: When enabled, if the master In-Row Cooler issues an alarm, it will force the standby In-Row Cooler to function,
regardless of the rotation configuration.
• Group Unit Quantity: Used to set the total size (number of In-Row Coolers) of the group.
• Standby Unit Quantity: Use to set the number of “redundant” In-Row coolers within the group reserved for standby.
• Monitor: This is the In-Row Cooler MODBUS address used for the DCIM.

2.2.2 Maintenance Mode
From the home screen, click the Maintenance Mode on/off button. Maintenance Mode temporarily adjusts the cooling output
to 100% to help quickly exhaust heat from the hot aisle to make it more comfortable when servicing IT equipment. No
password is required. The system returns to Auto Mode after 30 minutes. Disable Maintenance Mode in the control menu if
the user wants to prevent use of this feature.
2.3 Data Menus
The data menu enables users and technicians to monitor advanced parameters (read only).

The graph menu enables users or technicians to view historical trends of the following data points:
• Supply temperature
• Return temperature
• Humidity
• Low (suction) pressure
• High (discharge) pressure

2.5 Alarm Menu
Alarms generated are logged in the alarm menu. They will also be displayed in a scrolling banner across the top of the home
screen.
Resolved and/or cleared alarms will be cleared from the current alarm menu and logged into the alarm history. For example, if
a high temperature was detected, but has since dissipated.

2.6 Regular User Maintenance
• Ensure In-Row Cooler is meeting the setpoint.
• Clean/replace filters every 6 months or when needed.
• Check the alarm log.
• Check for water leaks in or around the In-Row Cooler.
• Ensure working rotation schedule by observing which In-Row Cooler(s) are in standby each week.

1-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Seller warrants this product, if used in accordance with all applicable instructions, to be free from original defects in material and
workmanship for a period of 1 year from the date of initial purchase. If the product should prove defective in material or workmanship within
that period, Seller will repair or replace the product, in its sole discretion. Service under this Warranty can only be obtained by your delivering

1. Información de Seguridad Importante
PELIGRO
PELIGRO indica una situación de peligro inminente que, de no evitarse, causará lesiones graves o fatales.

Peligro de descarga eléctrica, explosión o de arco eléctrico
• Ocupe el equipo de protección personal [PPE] apropiado y siga prácticas eléctricas seguras.
• Este equipo debe ser instalado y atendido solamente por personal calificado de HVAC.
• Cumpla con todos los reglamentos de cableado y seguridad aplicables, nacionales y locales, en donde se vaya
a instalar la unidad, p.e. el Código Eléctrico Nacional {NEC] en los Estados Unidos.
• Apague todo el suministro de energía a este equipo antes de trabajar en él o dentro de él.
• Use siempre un dispositivo de detección de voltaje correctamente especificado para confirmar que la energía
está apagada.
• Reemplace todos los dispositivos, puertas y tapas antes de encender este equipo.
• Solo deben usar este dispositivo aquellos que estén debidamente capacitados o calificados para hacerlo.

Riesgo por piezas móviles
• Mantenga las manos, la ropa y las joyas alejadas de las partes móviles. Revise el equipo para detectar objetos
extraños antes de cerrar las puertas y arrancar el equipo.

• Use dos o más personas en todo momento para mover o girar este equipo.
• Siempre empuje, jale o gire viendo hacia el frente y la parte posterior de este equipo. Nunca empuje, jale o gire
viendo hacia los lados de este equipo.
• Mueva lentamente este equipo a través de superficies o umbrales de puerta desnivelados.
• Baje las patas niveladoras al piso cuando este equipo esté en reposo.
• Baje las patas niveladoras y fije los soportes de unión a los racks adyacentes cuando este equipo esté en su
posición final.

PRECAUCIÓN

• La tubería de cobre debe soportar un mínimo de presión de 55 bar.
