Before operating the lawn mower
• Carefully inspect the area to be
mowed. Prevent from tripping finding obstacles and
removing debris. The mower blade may cause those
obstacles to shoot out causing accidents and / or reduce
the lawn mower useful life.
• The mowing area should be perfectly
lit.
• Double-check the lawn mower parts
are in good repair. Guards and accessories correctly fixed.
Verify the vent slots are free of debris. Do not operate the
lawn mower has missing parts or if the guard is damaged.
• Set a mowing pattern avoiding
sending grass trimmings onto the sidewalk, streets or
pedestrians. Do not discharge material against walls or
obstacles. The material could bounce back to the
operator.
• Remember tis lawn mower is designed to cut grass as
indicated in this Instructions Manual. It should never be
used for any other purpose.

• To switch off the lawn mower, just release the switch
bar. The blade will keep on rotating
some seconds after switching off the lawn mower.
• The motor has factory-built-in
protective material. When starting the motor for the first
time could generate a small amount of smoke. This is a
normal condition. It does not need any adjustment.
Starting On and Off
• The lawn mower is shipped adjusted into the low cutting
height position. Before using for the first time, adjust the
cutting height to the most suitable for your lawn.
• On average, grass measures from 1 ½” up to 2” in the
cold months and 2” up to 3 ½” during warm moths. If
there is growth, grass should be mowed during fall.
• To increase the blade height, move the adjusting lever

Operation
• Adjust the lawn mower into the desired cutting height.
• Start the lawn mower on level ground.
• To mow the lawn, use the handle to push the lawn
mower. Never pull it. You may be in danger of putting
the blade close to your feet.
• Do not mow in circles. Do it in a straight line from one
extreme to the other. When reaching one edge of the
lawn turn the lawn mower around pushing the handle
down, so the front wheels rise and you can use the rear
wheels as pivot to turn the tool around. Push the lawn
mower in the opposite direction mowing on top the
mowed path. It is very important that
you stand all the time behind the mower holding the
handle and not going near the cutter head.
• Do not mow the lawn fast. Push the lawn mower slowly
and firmly and with a constant rhythm.
• Never try to mow the lawn in
reverse. Always do it forward.
• If you work close to streets, do it facing the traffic.
• Shut off the lawn mower to move it from one place to
the other.
• If you hit an unexpected obstacle, shut off the lawn
mower and wait for the blade to stop. Carefully inspect
the lawn mower to look for any damages.
Repair the damages before using the lawn mower again.
• When mowing thick grass, slowly pass the lawn mower
to get a better cut and to properly discharge the
trimmings. For a healthy lawn, always cut one third or
less of its total height.
• When mowing overgrown grass, do it with to passes.
First adjust the cutting height to the highest position. Do
it once. Then adjust the cutting height in the definitive
position you need and make a second cut.
• In order to get effective shredding, do not cut damp
grass. It has a tendency to stick to the blade and it does
not shred correctly.
• New or dense grass may require a lower cut.
• Do not cut more than 1/3 of the length of the grass in a
single mow.
Tips
• Mowing lawn in slopes need special
moves to consider. Failure to pay attention to these
considerations may lead to severe accident.
• Never operate the lawn mower in slopes with more
than 15º, or with a maximum elevation of 3,28’.
Otherwise you could slide down or loosing control on
the lawn mower. It could even overturn exposing the
moving blade towards you. Use the lower graph as a
reference to learn if the slope is safe or not.
