Checkthatalllubricating
fittings
areservicedasdirectedinthe
Lubrication
Chart.
3.Checkthatthe
crankcase
andtransmissionhousingis
filled
to
levelsindicatedintheLubricationChart.
4.
Be
sure
aircleanerandblowerairintake
screen
onengineare
freeofobstructionsandexcessive
dirt.
5.Check
tliat
tractor
fuel
tankis
filled
with
clean
fuel
that
meets
requirementslistedunderFuelSpecifications.Alwayswipe
fuel
tankcapcleanbeforeremovingit.Be
sure
ventholein
fuel
tank
is
open.

RPM,
push

lever
downwarduntilthe
desired

lever

depress
thecombination
clutch
andbrakepedal
andplacetheleverinanyoneofthe
four
forward
oronereverse
speed
ranges

working
speed

direction.
CAUTION
Be
sure
theselectorleveris
in
neutral
whenparkingand
starting
thetractor.

COMBINATION
CLUTCH
AND
BRAKE
PEDAL
- Thecombination
clutch
andbrakepedal
will
disengagethetraction
clutch
onthe
enginewhenthepedalis
depressed
toapproximatelythree-fourths
of
its
full
travel,
therebystoppingthetransmissiondrivebelt.
Depress
thepedal
fully
toapplythebrake,

BRAKING
AND
PARKING
- Whenmakinga normalstop,
depress
thebrakepedalaboutthree-fourthsofits
full
travel
which
will
stopthetransmissiondrivebelt.
If
a faststopis
necessary,
fully
depress
thepedalto
engage
thebrakeband
with
thebrakedrum
on
thetransmission.
NOT£
Always
engage
and
lock
thebrakewhenparkingthetractor.
Thebrakeislockedbytighteningthe
lock
lever(6,Figure
with
thebrakepedal
fully
depressed.
Make
certainthebrakebandismaintainedinproper
adjustment.Shouldthebrakebandbecome
worn
or
loosened,thetraction
clutch
ontheenginecanbere-
engagedwhenexcessive
pressure
isappliedtothe
brakepedal.RefertotheBrake,
Clutch
and
Drive
Belt
AdjustmentinstructionsinthePreventive
Main-
tenance
Section.
7.
UGHT
SWITCH
-
Pull
theUght
switch
outto
turn
onthehead-
lights
andpushinto
turn
offtheheadlights.
8.
AMMETER
WARNING
LIGHT
- Thewarning
light
goes
onwhen
thekey
switch
isturnedonandshouldgooffwhentheengine
starts.Iftheammeterwarning
light
does
notgooffwhenthe
engine
starts
andisrunning,itisan
indication
thatthebatteryis
discharging
andthegeneratorisnotsupplyingcurrent.STOP
THE
ENGINE
AND
CHECK
FORTHE
CAUSE.
If
theammeter
light
flickers
whentheengineisatlow
idle,
thebattery,generatororregulatormaynotnecessarilyrequire
servicing.
However,ifthewarning
light
remainsonwhenengine
speed
isincreased,stoptheengineimmediatelyandcheckforthe
cause.

IMPLEMENT
LIFT
LEVER
- Theimplementleveris
used
to
raise
orlowertheimplementand
also
to
hold
theimplementat
anygiven
level.
The
wing
nutatthe
base
canbeturnedinorout
to
adjusttheminimumoperatingheightofanattachment.When
transportingtheattachment,
pull
the
lift
leverback
until
the
catch
engages.
Depress
thebuttonatthetopofthelevertore-
lease
andlowertheattachmenttodesiredoperatingheight.A
slight
pulling
pressure
onthelever
will
permitthe
release
button
tobemoreeasily
depressed.
PTO
LEVER
- To
engage
the
attachmentdriveclutch,move
thePTOlevertothe
right.
To
disengage,
movetheleverback
to
the
left.
Be
sure
thePTO
leverisintheoffpositionwhen
parking
orstartingtheTractor.
