Troubleshooting Guide
CAUTION: Touching the exposed electrical connectors or other electronic circuits inside
this hood when the power is on could result in death, serious injury, or property damage.
1. If the range hood does not operate after installation:
Check if the range hood has been plugged in, make sure that all power has been turned back
on and all electrical wiring are properly connected.
Swap out light assembly to working ones to deter- mine whether it is caused by defective
bulbs.
2. The range hood vibrates when the blower is on:
The range hood might not have been secured properly on to the ceiling.
3. The blowers seems weak:
Check that the duct sized used is at least 6”.
Range hood WILL NOT function efficientlywith insufficientduct size. For example: 7” duct
over 6” hole and loosely secured.
Check if duct is clogged or if damper unit is not opening properly. A tight mesh on a side
wall cap unit might also cause restriction to the air flow.
4. The lights work but the blower is not spinning at all, is stuck or is rattling:
The blower might be jammed or scraping the bot- tom due to shipping damage.
5. The hood is not venting out properly:
Make sure the distance between the cook top and the bottom of the hood is within 24” and
30” in range.
Reduce the number of elbows and length of duct work. Check if all joints are properly
connected, sealed, and taped.
Make sure the power is on high speed for heavy cooking.

cover page.

11
Installation
STEP
1
Read Safety Instructions
•
Read the safety instructions on pages 4 and 5 before installing.
IMPORTANT: It is the responsibility of the installer to comply with the manufacturer's safety
and installation standards.
STEP
2
Unpack the Kitchen Hood and Prepare the Tools
•
Carefully unpack the range hood and parts, to make sure all parts are included, as shown
on page 6.
•
Before any installation, make sure that the product works properly and in good condition.
•
Check with a qualified installer that all local regulations for air requirements are met.
STEP
3
Location Planning
•
Choose a location that meets all of the Safety and Installation requirements in this manual.
Also plan the location of the conduits to be installed.
•
A run of straight or short ducts allows the device to operate more efficiently. Long strokes of
ducts, elbows and transitions can reduce the performance of the device. Each elbow is the
equivalent of 1.5 to 3 m (5 to 10 ft) of straight travel through loss of performance.
•
If the duct is already installed: make sure it is free of all debris.
STEP 4
Test Device Functions
•
Connect the device and test all functions before installation.
•
Place the range hood on a stable surface. Connect the range hood to a standard outlet (120-Volt,
60Hz) and turn on the range hood. Check the operation of the range hood by referring to the
Operation section of this manual.
•
Check that the range hood turns on properly.
•Check all lights, as well as the operation of the fan.
Warning:
•
Please be sure to read ALL of the safety instructions on pages 3 and 4.
•
.
Use two or more people to move and install the range hood.

Ventilation Installation Guidelines
•
The following steps are described for the installation of outdoor ventilation.

7ft (2,1m)
Example:
One roof cap, two 90º elbow, and one 45º elbow used:
9ft + 9ft + 9ft + 5ft = 32ft used.
Deduct 32ft from 50ft, 18ft maximum available for
straight duct run.
Installation
IMPORTANT:
• A minimum 6 '' (15.2 cm) circular or 3 1/4 x 10
'' (25.4 cm x 8.3 cm) rectangular duct
(purchased separately) should be used to
maintain normal circulation efficiency air.
• ALWAYS use rigid metal / aluminum sleeves
to maximize air circulation when connecting.
• Please use the Duct Run Calculation Table to
calculate the total sheath stroke available
using elbows, transitions and caps.
• ALWAYS reduce the number of transitions
and turns. If a long sleeve is required,
increase the size of the sleeve from 6 in. (15.2
cm) to 7 in. (17.7 cm) or 8 in. (20.3 cm). If a
reducer is used, install a round reducer
instead of a flat reducer. Reducing the size of
the duct will restrict air circulation. You will
need to reduce the size of the sheath as far
as possible from the opening.
•If turns or transitions are required, install them
as far away from the opening as possible and
as far apart from each other as possible.
• The minimum mounting height between the
top of the range and the bottom of the range
hood should be no less than 24 '' (61 cm) in
diameter and 30 '' (76.2 cm) for the top of the
gas range and no higher than 30 in. (76.2 cm)
for electric cooktops.
·•···
•
It is important to install the hood at the
correct mounting height. Hoods set too low
could cause heat damage and pose a fire
hazard; while hoods set too high will be
difficult to reach and will lose their
performance and efficiency.
• Also refer to the clearance requirements
above the manufacturer's range and the
mounting height of the hood above the
range.
•
The ventilation duct can either terminate through the roof or the wall. To vent through a wall, a
90° elbow is required.

14
INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT:
NEVER exhaust air or terminate duct work into spaces between walls, crawl spaces,
ceiling, attics or garages. All exhaust must be ducted to the outside.
•Use metal/aluminum duct work only.
•Fasten all connections with sheet metal screws and tape all joints with certifiedSilver Tape or
Duct Tape.
•Use caulking to seal exterior wall or roof opening around the cap.
