Read all Instructions before Installing and operating this appliance
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK OR
INJURY TO PERSONS, OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
1. Use only metal ductand this unit MUST be grounded.
2. Sucient air is needed for proper combustion and exhaust-
ing of gases through the duct to prevent backdrafting.
3. When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, be careful not to
damage electrical wiring or other hidden utilities.
4. All electrical wiring must be properly installed, insulated and
grounded.
5. Old duct work should be cleaned or replaced if necessary to
avoid the possibility of a grease re.
6. Check all joints on duct work to insure proper connection
and all joints should be properly taped.
7. Use this unit only in the manner intended by themanufac-
turer. If you have questions, contact the vendor.
8. For general ventilating use only. DO NOT use to exhaust haz-
ardous or explosive materials and vapors.
9. The combustion air ow needed for safe operation of fu-
el-burning equipment may be aected by this unit’s opera-
tion. Follow the heating equipment manufacturer’s guideline
and safety standards such as those published by the National
Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the American Society
of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers
(ASHRAE), and the local code authorities.
10. Before servicing or cleaning unit, switch power OFF at service
panel and lock service panel to prevent power from being
switched ON accidentally.
11. Clean grease laden surfaces frequently. To reduce the risk of
re and to disperse air properly, make sure to vent airoutside.
DO NOT vent exhaust into spaces between walls,crawl spac-
es, ceiling, attics or garages.
12. Ducted fans MUST always be vented to the outdoors.
WARNING
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF A RANGE TOP GREASE
FIRE:
1. Keep all fan, bae, spaces, lter, grease tunnel, oil
container and grease-laden surfaces clean. Grease should
not be allowed to accumulate on fan, bae, spaces, lter,
greasetunnel and oil container.
2. Always turn range hood ON when cooking at high heat or
when cooking aming foods.
3. Use high settings on cooking range only when necessary.
4. Never leave surface units unattended at high settings.
Boilovers cause smoking and greasy spillovers that may
ignite. Heat oils slowly on low or medium settings.
5. Clean ventilating fan frequently.
6. Always use appropriate cookware and utensils size.
7. Always use cookware appropriate for the size of the surface
element.
WARNING
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY TO PERSONS IN
THE EVENT OF A RANGE TOP GREASE FIRE,
OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
1. SMOTHER FLAMES with a close-tting lid, cookie sheet,
ormetal tray, then turn OFF the burner. BE CAREFUL TO
PREVENT BURNS. NEVER PICK UP A FLAMING PAN—you
may be burned. KEEP FLAMMABLE OR COMBUSTIBLE
MATERIAL AWAY FROM FLAMES. If the ames DO NOT go out
immediately, EVACUATE AND CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT or
dial your local emergency services immediately.
2. DO NOT USE WATER, including wet dishcloths or towels —a
violent steam explosion will result.
3. Use an extinguisher ONLY if:
a) You know you have a Class A, B, C extinguisher,
and you already know how to operate it.
b) The re is small and contained in the area where it
started.
c) The re department has being called.
d) You can ght the re with your back to an exit.

2. The installation in this manual is intended for qualied
installers, service technicians or persons with similar
qualied background. Installation and electrical wiring
must be done by qualied professionals and in accordance
with all applicable codes and standards including re-rated
construction.

Range hood may have very sharp edges; please wear
protective gloves if it is necessary to remove any parts
forinstalling, cleaning or servicing.

6. Due to the size and weight of this range hood, two person
installation is recommended.

information and requirements.

1. Make sure the waste oil container is inside the hood body slot.
2.
Container should be up and short side in front.
3.
Tilt the filter forward of the hood opening above the front line and control panel.
4.
Slide to and into the recess behind the front of the hood while lifting the filter at the back.
5.
Lower the filter while sliding it back until it rests on the waste oil container.
For Baffle filters:
For aluminum filters:
1. Tilt the filter into the rear slot of the hood.
2. Press the filter button on the handle.
3. Release the handle until the filter snaps into the stop position.
To uninstall the filters, do the reverse process.
