Introduction
The swivel bracket QBM8i is an accessory for the M8 and M8i loudspeaker.
It is characterized by a subtle look, a remarkable size to weight ratio and ease of use.

1. Safety | Intended use
The QBM8i swivel bracket was developed for use in professional sound systems. The swivel
bracket may only be used by trained and qualified personnel.
The QBM8i swivel bracket may only used with the M8 or M8i loudspeaker.
This rigging manual describes how to use the QBM8i swivel bracket correctly. Any other use
shall be deemed improper and may result in damage or even injury.
Modifications or alterations to individual parts of the QBM8i swivel bracket are not permitted!
Danger to life!
WARNING
Before every operation, check the scope of delivery of the QBM8i swivel bracket for its com-
pleteness and ensure that all parts are in perfect condition.
The scope of delivery includes specified components. Only use the recommended and cer-
tified components.
WARNING
The QBM8i swivel bracket is designed both for indoor and outdoor use.
CAUTION
The QBM8i swivel bracket may only be used by trained and qualified personnel. Personnel
must check the QBM8i swivel bracket for suitability before each use.
WARNING
The QBM8i swivel bracket must be taken out of operation immediately as soon as visible
damage to the parts can be seen.
WARNING
Please keep all elements of the QBM8i swivel bracket away from children! The small parts can
easily be swallowed and lead to suffocation!
WARNING
Please adhere to the following safety instructions to avoid risks when using accessories.
Note the operating modes described in this assembly instructions. Other uses are not per-
missible.
Damage caused by improper use is not covered by TWAMBO.

The payload of the QBM8i swivel bracket is designed of one M8 or M8i loudspeaker. Do not
exceed this payload.
WARNING
When moving (assembling, dismantling, maintaining) the QBM8i swivel bracket with M8 or
M8i loudspeaker, ensure sufficient space to prevent collisions with other objects.
WARNING
Do not squeeze or twist the electrical cables of the M8 or M8i loudspeaker during the instal-
lation of the QBM8i swivel bracket! The respective national electrotechnical rules and regula-
tions are applicable.
CAUTION
All screw connections should be checked each time the QBM8i swivel bracket are installed.
Tighten all loose screws. If this is no longer possible, the screws must be replaced.
WARNING
Before mounting the QBM8i swivel bracket check that e.g. ceilings, tripods, trusses, walls,
are capable to carrying the payload of the components.

Make sure that no water pipes, electrical lines or any other lines are behind the intended place
of mounting.
Only use wall plugs and screws which are suitable for the intended mounting and structural
fabric. All screws must be set and tightened properly. Ensure that the fixing holes have the
correct depth and diameter. Always use all fixing holes.

4.1 Setup
The QBM8i swivel bracket is designed for the hanging and stacking operation. TWAUDiO
provides a wide range of accessories to securely attach the swivel bracket.
NOTE
4. Commissioning
TW AUDiO recommends using only the accessories specified by TWAUDiO for securing and
mounting loudspeakers.
WARNING
Make sure that all system structures are located on a firm, level surface and that the surface
can bear the total weight!
Please note that setting up the system structures always requires two persons!

4.2 Preparation M8 loudspeaker
Please note that when the M8 loudspeaker is delivered, a plastic threaded plug is included in
all M10 threads because of production reasons.
Before installing the swivel bracket, remove the threaded plugs from the M10 threads that
are required.
To do this, follow these steps:
1. Carefully carve the textured paint with a cutter knife on the edge of the threaded plugs. Be
careful not to damage the remaining textured paint on the loudspeaker.
2. Then remove the threaded plugs using the torque wrench and the Torx TX30 bit insert.

4.5 Wind load

4.4 Needed tools for setup
• Cutter knife
• Torque wrench
• Bit inserts for torque wrench: TX30 and TX50
• Open-end wrench SW17
Have the following tools ready for each setup:
Before setting up the system outdoors, consider unexpected wind conditions at the opera-
tion site!
Disassemble your system immediately when wind speeds exceed 8 bft (34 to 40 kn / 62 to
74 kph / 38.5 to 46 mph) and secure the system components!
Make sure that there are no persons in the immediate vicinity of the system structure!
Make sure that the system structures are not operated over the audience at wind speeds in
excess of 6 bft (22 to 27kn / 39 to 49kph / 24.2 to 30.45mph) and that there are no persons
in the immediate vicinity of the system structure!
4.3 Preparation M8i loudspeaker
Please note that when the M8i loudspeaker is delivered, a countersunk screw is included in
all M10 threads because of production reasons.
Before installing the swivel bracket, remove the countersunk screws from the M10 threads
that are required.
To do this, follow these steps:
1. Carefully carve the textured paint with a cutter knife on the edge of the countersunk
screws. Be careful not to damage the remaining textured paint on the loudspeaker.
2. Then remove the countersunk screws using the torque wrench and the Torx TX50 bit
insert.

4.6 Assembly QBM8i to loudspeaker
Mount positions 1 to 3 (see figure 2.1) on both sides as shown in figure 4.4. Note that at
pos.4 (see figure 2.1) one of the side holes is used.

Attach the QBM8i swivel bracket to the ceiling or wall by using all three holes located on the
crossbar. Make sure that you use suitable fastening material and that the connections are set
firmly and correctly!

4.7 Assembly QBM8i swivel bracket to trusses, ceiling or wall
For installation purposes, attach the QBM8i swivel bracket to the ceiling or wall by using all
three holes located on the crossbar. Make sure that you use suitable fastening material and
that the connections are set firmly and correctly!

Attach the DHST Doughty Halfcoupler Slimline to the ø12.2mm hole located on the crossbar
of the QBM8i swivel bracket when using the QBM8i swivel bracket on trusses. Make sure that
the connections are set firmly and correctly!

Mount the M8 loudspeaker with QBM8i swivel bracket and the HSF pole mount flange on the
tripod. Make sure that you use suitable fastening material and that the connections are set
firmly and correctly!

General safety instructions for setting up on a tripod:
For every system setup on a tripod, use a tripod that is designed according to the total weight.
Make sure that no one can trip over your system structures, or over individual components!
This is especially true for all pressure-resistant shims, tripod legs and bracing ropes!
Any influences on your system setup, such as leaning against objects (or people) and flying
objects around, be refrained from!
When setting up a system on uneven surfaces, such as gravel or grass, always put a pressu-
re-resistant surface under all four spindle feet or the tripod legs! Make sure that all four spindle
feet or the tripod legs rest completely on the pressure-resistant shims and that the surface can
withstand the total weight!
Note that depending on the system design, either the front or rear tripod legs may be able to
carry more weight!

NOTE
5. Transport and storage
The original packaging is unsuitable as permanent storage and transport packaging.
When transporting and storing the unit, it is important to ensure that the surface of the swi-
vel bracket are not damaged. Moisture can penetrate where steel surfaces are exposed by
scratches and result in corrosion.
In addition, appreciable dust deposits may considerably impair the functionality of a loudspe-
aker membrane. For this reason, the loudspeakers should be transported and stored in a
safe, careful, dry and largely dust-free manner.
