HowdoestheSensorControllerwork?
Thesensorcontrollerisnormallysuppliedwithastandardbedorchairsensorasacompletepackage.Thecontrollerandothersensor
optionsarealsoavailableseparatelyifcustompackagesarerequired.
ThesensorcontrollermustbeinstalledwithaReachat‐homealarm,anAdventxtwardencallsystem,anAltecResponselocalcarer
alarmunitoraTouchsafeProNursecallsystem.
ThesensorcontrollerhasarealtimeclockwithautomaticBritishSummerTimeadjustments(i.e.the+/‐1hourclockchangesaremade
automaticallyonthecorrectdayeveryMarchandOctober).
Withastandardbedorchairsensoranalarmcanberaisedeitherinstantlyapersonleavestheirbed/chairoraftera1to99minute
programmableabsenceperiodifthepersondoesnotreturntotheirbed/chair.Ifthepersondoesnotreturnandanalarmisraisedbut
theyareOK,thenanoptional1to99minuteprogrammableresetperiodcanbeset.Ifthepersonisnotdetectedbackintheirbed/chair
attheendofthisperiodthenanalarmwillberaisedagain.
Monitoringstartswhenapersonhasbeenintheirbed/chairfor30seconds(defaultloggedinbedtime).Continuousmonitoringis
possibleifthecontrollerissettobeonallthetime.Alternativelyupto3activeperiodscanbeprogrammedtorepeateveryday.There
isalsotheoptiontoraiseanalarmifapersonisnotintheirbed/chairaftera0to999minuteprogrammabledelayfromthestartofthe
monitoringperiod.
Monitoringwillendattheendofeachmonitoringperiodunlessthestillinbed/chairoptionisset.Thisisa0to999minute
programmableperiod–ifthepersonisstillintheirbed/chairattheendofthisperiodanalarmwillberaised.
IfthepersonisgoingtobeawayfromhomeforafewdaystheSensorControllerhasanawaymodefeaturewhichtemporarilysuspends
monitoringtopreventfalsealarms.Whenthepersonreturnshometheunitmustbeswitchedbackintohomemodeandnormal
monitoringwillresume.
ThesensorcontrollerhasaCarerCallbuttontoactivateanalarmcallatanytime.AnoptionalPearPushleadisavailabletoactivatea
carercallandswitchlampson/off(Gadgetmainsswitcherrequired).
WithaMagicStickorSensAlertbed/chairsensoranalarmcanberaisedeitherinstantlyapersonleavestheirbed/chairoraftera
programmable0to999secondcountdowndelay.Thealarmcanbecancelledduringthecountdownbypressingthekey.
