The Concept behind Polar Ice
Mimicking the natural ice-forming
patterns found in lakes and rivers,
Polar Ice allows ice on the surface
of the tray to freeze, while the
water below remains unfrozen.
We achieve this by using insulated
foam, so that only the surface of
the water is exposed to the cold.
By allowing the water to freeze
from top to bottom, layer by layer,
air and impure substances are
compressed to the bottom. They
then form a layer of “white” or
opaque ice, which can easily be
removed.
製冰原理
模擬自然界河川湖泊的凍結
模式,由水面開始結冰,而
湖底仍然維持液體狀態。
極地冰盒利用隔熱材料包覆
冰盒底部,只有水面接觸冷
凍庫內的冷空氣。在由上而
下的凍結過程,將空氣與雜
質擠壓到冰盒的底部。同時
利用冰盒的雙層結構,將透
明冰與雜質冰分離。

Warnings & Precautions
使用注意事項
Please wash with soap and water
before first use.
Please clean with a soft cloth or
sponge to avoid scratching.
Please do not fill with hot water.
Non-microwavable - keep away
from heat sources.
Handle ice sensibly to avoid
frostbite.
To avoid cracking, avoid dropping
the plastic layer or exposing it to
heavy impact.
第一次使用前,請以中性
洗潔精清洗後使用。
清洗時請使用柔軟的抹
布或海綿,避免刮傷製冰
盒的表面。
不要倒入熱水,製冰請使
用放涼的開水。
不可以使用於微波爐。請
勿放置於火源旁或高溫
場所。
處理冰塊要注意避免凍
傷。
高處落下或強力衝擊會
造成盒體破裂。

If the ice is not easily removed,
flush bottom of the plastic layer
with water or leave it at room
temperature for 1-3 minutes.
Then slide the ice out gently, as
brute force may crack the plastic.
The mold is made out of silicone.
Sometimes a white residue will
form on the surface. This is a
normal. Simply rinse with water
and continue use.
The clarity of the ice and the time
it takes to freeze varies from
freezer to freezer.
當冰塊難以取出的時
候,可以在冰盒外層淋
水,或在室溫下放置 1~
3分鐘待稍微溶化之後慢
慢地取出。如果勉強用力
取出,可能會造成冰盒破
裂損傷。
冰模部分是矽膠製成,有
時候會在冰模表面結成
白色水垢,這是正常狀
況。以水清洗後,可以放
心使用。
冰塊的透明度與製冰時
間,會因為冷凍庫的狀況

Place the
perforated layer on
top of the plastic
layer.
The edges should fit
as snugly as
possible to avoid
leaking. Pinch the
rims together to
ensure full contact.

Pour water through
the hole at the top
of the silicone layer,
until water flows
out of the hole.
The clarity of the
ice is does not vary
based on water
quality. Tap water
will still produce
crystal clear ice.
If you live in an area
with undrinkable
wate r, we suggest
you use boiled or
mineral water
instead.
將冷開水由注水
孔倒入冰盒,直
到水滿出矽膠層
的頂端氣孔。
使用的水質基本
上不會影響冰塊
的透明度,利用
自來水製冰同樣

Put the ice
compartments into
the insulated base.
After completing
assembly, place the
components in
freezer.
It will take at least
12 hours for the ice
to freeze
sufficiently.
During the freezing
process, please
refrain from
opening the freezer
door or jostling the
ice tray excessively.
將冰盒穩固的置
入隔熱底座內。
完整組合後,將
整組冰盒置入冰
箱冷凍庫。
需經過約 12 小
時以上的充分冷
凍。
冷凍期間,儘量
減少開闔冷凍庫
的門,避免改變

How to Extract Polar Ice
取冰的方法
When the water has
frozen, remove the
ice components from
the insulated base.
當冰塊充分凍
結後(請參考凍
結狀況說明),
將冰盒由隔熱
底座中取出。

Flip the edge of
silicone layer up, and
peel it away from the
ice sphere.
Next, pull on the
edge of the silicone
perforated layer. This
will separate the
bottom of the ice
sphere from the
“white ice” block that
has formed in the
plastic layer.
扳動矽膠層的
邊緣,可以將冰
模直接剝離。
繼續扳動有孔
層的邊緣,可以
接著將兩個冰
球與底層冰塊
分離。

If you leave your tray
in the freezer for over
24 hours, the “white
ice” block from the
plastic layer may stick
to the perforated
silicone layer. To
remove the white ice
from your crystal
clear ice, chip it off by
hitting it with the
back of a spoon.
To prevent
frostbite, avoid
touching the sphere of
ice with wet hands.
如果冰凍超過
24 小時,此時冰
塊硬度高。扳動
有孔層時,底層
的白冰塊有時
候會一起脫

If the ice is not easily

To store your ball of
ice, put it in a
ziplock bag and
keep it in the
freezer. This will
prevent
volatilization.
The melting speed
of a crystal clear
ball of ice is slower
than regular
“white” ice.
Because the clear
ice is constructed
from pure water, it
will not change the
flavor of your
favorite beverage or
whiskey.
如須保存冰
球,可以置於夾
鏈袋中放入冰
庫。可以避免冰
塊揮發,同時達
到冰塊時化的
效果。
晶瑩剔透的冰
球不僅美觀,融
化速度也較
慢。因為是純水

Conditions of Solidification
凍結情況
BE CAREFUL –
Polar Ice freezes at
extremely low
temperatures!
It takes ~12 hours for
Polar Ice to fully freeze.
To prevent frostbite,
avoid touching the
sphere of ice with wet
hands.
完全凍結:注 意 冰
面低溫,避免凍
傷!
充分凍結 12 小時
以上。
儘量避免以手直
接接觸冰面,防
止冰面的低溫造
成凍傷。

Watch for sharp
edges when the ice
is partially frozen!
Occurs when the
freezer temperature
isn’t cold enough or the
ice has been freezing
for less than 8 hours.
Upon opening the
compartments, you
may find the bottom of
the ice hollow, with
sharp edges on the
edges of the holes.
Handle with caution.
未完全凍結

銳利邊緣,避免割
傷!

Freezer Temperature
Setting

Please set your freezer to a
"MID" temperature range.
At a “WARMER” temperature
setting, the ice will take longer to
freeze.
At a “COLDER” temperature
setting, the ice may form
needle-like bubbles.
一般來說冷凍庫設定在 -18°C
是最佳的冷凍溫度,也就是溫
度調節器『

』的狀態。
設定在『弱』的狀態,需要充
分凍結的時間會加長。。設定
在『強』的狀態,則冰塊底層
會有針狀氣泡。

A white cloud or
needle-like bubbles may
form on the bottom of
the ice ball, when air
bubbles are trapped in
the plastic layer and
block the holes in the
perforated layer. After
filling the tray with
water, please tap on the
silicone layer with your
finger to dislodge the
bubbles -- they will float
up and dissipate.
When freezing fruit or
flowers in your ice ball,
it is important to
remember to tap the
silicone layer to remove
the trapped air bubbles.
當冰球底部有
較多針狀氣
泡,可能是因為
加水時有空氣
被困在底層或
小孔中。可以在
加水後,用手指
輕彈矽膠層,震
動冰盒讓氣泡
浮出,即可避免
這個問題。
特別是將其他
裝飾物品冰入
