INTRODUCTION
ADVANCED CALLING FEATURES
Your Uniden EXT 1865 cordless telephone not only supports advanced
calling features such as Call Return, Busy Redial and Call Forwarding,
but also gives you new options for call waiting. At the touch of a
button, you can ask the caller to hold, send them to your voice mail
service or conference them into your current call. Just press the
key on the handset to view available features. Some features may require
a subscription from your local telephone company.
Not all features are available in all areas. Please contact your local
telephone company for more information, or to subscribe.
The following Advanced Calling Features are pre-programmed into your
EXT 1865 for easy access.

To access the calling features programmed into your phone, just follow
the instructions below. General descriptions of each service are given in
the following section. For complete instructions for using each service,
please contact your local telephone company.

display and the volume setting appears

PRE-PROGRAMMED FEATURES
The following descriptions are typical and may vary depending on your
local calling area and service availability. For complete instructions for
using the Advanced Calling Features supported by your EXT 1865, please
contact your telephone company.
Call Return remembers the number of the person who called you last
and automatically dials that number. This feature is useful if you just
missed an incoming call.
Busy Redial continually redials busy numbers for you. When a
number is busy, Busy Redial monitors the busy number and lets you
know when the line is free.
Three-way Calling allows you to add another party to an ongoing
conversation. To add a party to your current call, press the
key on the base or handset.
When you hear dial tone, dial the number of the party you’d like to
conference. When the person answers, you can speak privately. Press
the key at any time to conference both calls.
Priority Call allows you to easily recognize a special call before you
answer the phone by its distinctive ring.
Cancel Call Waiting temporarily cancels call waiting service. This
feature is useful if you have call waiting service, but don’t want to be
disturbed during a call.
Call Forwarding allows you to send your calls to another phone,
cellular or even pager number.
Call Block stops unwanted calls by automatically rejecting calls from
certain numbers.
Select Block allows you to block your caller id information from being
displayed to the party you are calling. Select this option before dialing.
Anonymous Call Rejection stops calls from people who block the
their Caller ID information.
When using certain
calling features, local,
toll or long distance
charges may apply.

The last two menu locations are available to program new features into
your EXT 1865. You may also program features into any of the other
menu locations or restore the pre-programmed service at any time.

CALL WAITING FEATURES

Your EXT 1865 gives you new options for call waiting. At the touch of a
button, you can ask the caller to hold, send them to your voice mail
service or conference them into your current call. You may be required
to subscribe to voice mail service, call waiting and call waiting options to
use these features. Not all features are available in all areas. Check with
your local telephone company for details.
When you receive a call waiting call,
press for a list of options.

Your EXT 1865 is pre-programmed with seven call waiting options.
You may select to ask the calling party to hold, send them a busy
message, forward them to your voice mail service or conference
them into the current call. You may also select to answer and drop
the first caller or, at any time, choose to drop the first or drop the
last caller.

PROGRAMMING VOICE MAIL ACCESS
If you subscribe to voice mail service, you can use your EXT 1865 to
access your voice mailbox. The messages indicator on the base of your
phone flashes whenever you have messages waiting in your voice
mailbox. Just program the key with your mailbox telephone
number and you can get your messages at the touch of a button.

Dialing Your Voice Mail Service
Once you’ve stored your mailbox telephone number, you can dial your
mailbox with the touch of a button. When you have messages, simply
pick up the handset and press . Or, press , listen for
dial tone, and then press .

SPEAKERPHONE FEATURES
Your EXT 1865 cordless telephone includes a base speakerphone with
several features, including one-touch access to voice mail, a message
waiting indicator, and three network service keys.

Programming Voice Mail Access
From the base, press the key. The status indicator begins to
flash. Enter your access number using the keypad, then press
again. Now press the key. You hear a long confirmation tone
and the status indicator stops flashing. When you have mail, the
messages indicator flashes. Simply press on the base to
retrieve your messages using the speakerphone.

Using Network Services
Three network services are available from your EXT 1865 speakerphone.
To access Call Return, Busy Redial, or 3-Way Call press the
corresponding key on your speakerphone. The service connects
automatically. You may also press the key and then choose one
of the three features.
If you would like to program different features into these three keys,
then follow these simple steps. From the base, press the key.
