1. Getting Started
1.1 Startup and Shutdown
1.1.1 Startup
To begin, plug in the power cord and press the power button.
The power indicator light should turn on to indicate the device
is on. After the device fully starts up, the screen will turn on and
display the normal multi-channel preview screen.
1.1.2 Shutdown
To turn the device o, press the power button on the front panel
of the device. You can also click Start→Shutdown→Confirm. It
is recommended to shut down using the button in the Start
menu rather than the external button to avoid damaging the
device from a sudden power o.
1.2 Login
If this is the NVR’s first start-up, or if you have been logged out,
you must login to the device before you will be able to operate
the menu and other functions.
To login, click the Start button on the top of screen and select
Login from the drop-down menu. Login with your username and
password, or use the default user:
Default Username: admin.
Default Password: 888888.
Click Login.
Ensure you change the default password and record it inside the
cover for future reference.

1.3 User Guide
The Guide opens after logging in and prompts you to complete
the set up steps. It will walk you though some basic settings
of the NVR. If you would like to skip the set up guide, click
the button. You can choose have the guide open the next
time you login by leaving the “Next time no longer display”
check-box unchecked.
The first screen allows you to select a language for the system.
Click the Next button to save.

Select the resolution that matches your display screen. Click
Next to continue.
Enter your network setting information and click Next to view
the QR Code screen.
Click Finish to complete the guide setup.

1.4 Menu Operation
After successfully logging in, the following toolbar will be visible.
1.4.1 Begin Setup
Click the icon to access the following
functions:
• Logout: Log out of the current user and
log in again.
• Guide: Opens a guide to set up language,
display resolution, basic network parameters
and to access the QR code.
• Reboot: Restart the device.
• Shutdown: Safely turn o the device.
2. Click the button to automatically detect
all the IP cameras connected to the NVR.
3. Select an IP camera o the list of detected cameras and click
the button to add it as a channel directly.
4. You can also manually add the IP camera by entering the
Channel Parameters.

1.4.2 Adding IP Cameras
Before you can begin viewing your camera’s live feeds, you
need to add the camera to the network. First, ensure the
network connection is correct and the IP camera you are adding
has already been activated.

2. Live View
2.1 Introduction to Live View
Live View shows you the video stream from each camera real-
time. This is the screen that will automatically display when the
NVR is powered on.
Live View Icons
In Live View, there are hidden icons at the bottom of each
channel that display when you hover over the bottom edge of
the channel with your cursor.
2.2 Operations in Live View Mode
In the Live View, alarm information is displayed on the top right
corner:
When you click the button, the Alarm Information screen
pops up. Click the button to hide alarm information.

3. Camera Settings
3.1 Configuring OSD Settings
You can configure the OSD (On-Screen Display)
settings—camera name, date/time, etc.—by entering Channel
Setting→Channel Parameter→Display Setting. This allows you
to enter the information you would like displayed on the screen
and adjust the location of each by dragging them around with
your mouse on the preview screen.
• Channel: Choose the channel with the camera display you
would like to adjust.
• Local Channel Name: Check the check-box for Show Local
Channel Name, then enter the Local Channel Name in the text
field. Click the Save button and the name you entered will
show up on the screen to the left. You can use the mouse to
click and drag the text frame on the viewing window to adjust
the OSD position of the text.
• IP Camera Name: (must be supported by the camera) Check
the box in front of Show Channel Name, then enter the
Channel Name in the text field. Click Save and the name you
entered will show on the screen to the left. You can use the
mouse to click and drag the text frame on the window to
adjust the OSD position.

• Date & Time Format: Select a format that is supported by the
camera.
• Image Setting: Adjust the Brightness, Contrast, Saturation and
Hue of the channel.

• Camera Lens Parameters Setting: Make technical adjustments
to the camera lens.
3.2 Encoding Type
You may want to adjust the Encoding Type for a better image.
You can access this screen under Channel Settings→Channel
Parameters.
• Select the Channel of the camera you want to configure.
• Select either Main Stream or Sub Stream as the Encoding Type.
• Choose the display Resolution.
• Set a Bitrate Type and enter the Bitrate.
• Select the Frame Rate.
• Select the preferred Video Quality, the default is Best.

3.3 Configuring Privacy Mask
You can create rectangular privacy mask zones to define areas
on the screen that cannot be viewed by the operator. The
privacy mask prevents certain surveillance areas from being
viewed or recorded. Privacy Mask is found under Channel
Setting→Channel Parameter→Video Tampering.
• Select which camera you would like to set the privacy mask on.
• Check the box by Enable Video Tampering.
• Using your mouse, draw a rectangular zone on the window.
You may add up to 4 zones per channel and adjust their size
using your cursor.
• To clear all zones and start over, click the button.

4. PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) Controls
4.1 Configuring PTZ Settings
PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) is located under System Setting→PTZ
Setting and is used to set the controls for cameras equipped
with the Pan-Tilt-Zoom feature.
• Channel: Choose the channel of the camera to modify.
• Protocol: Choose the correct protocol for your PTZ.
• Decoder Address: Choose the decoder address.
• Baud Rate: Select the baud rate.
• Data Bit: Select the data bit.

4.2 Setting PTZ Preset, Cruise & Pattern
To begin, make sure that preset, cruise and pattern are
supported by the PTZ.

• Stop Bit: Select the stop bit.
• Verify: Select the correct verify option, the default setting is
Non Parity.
• Stream Control: Set the stream control, the default is None.
4.2.1 Customizing Preset
You can use Preset to define a specific location you want the
PTZ camera to point to when a certain event takes place.
• Use the direction wheel to turn the camera to the location
where you want it.
• Adjust the zoom to focus the camera.
• Click Preset, then enter a name for your preset and click the
Setting button to link the preset location to a specific event.
• You can click the Clear button to clear the location information
and start over.
4.2.2 Customizing Cruise
Cruise can be used to move the PTZ to predefined key points
along a path and have it stay there for a set amount of time
before moving on to the next key point. The key points
correspond with presets as described in 5.2.1 Customizing
Preset.
• Select a Cruise Number in the cruise drop-down menu.
• Click the Setting button to add key points for the selected
cruise number’s path.
• Key Point Number defines the order the PTZ camera will follow
during the cruise path.
• Cruise Time sets to the duration of time the camera will stay at
the each key point.
• Speed defines how fast the PTZ will move as it pans from one
key point to the next.
• Click Add to add the next key point to the patrol path. Once
finished, click Exit.

4.2.3 Customizing Pattern
Patterns can be created by recording the movement of the PTZ
camera as you control it so that it moves along a predefined
path.
• Choose a Pattern Number to edit.
• Click the Start Recording button and begin using the direction
wheel and zoom buttons to move the PTZ camera.
• Click the Stop button to stop recording your path.
• The movement of the PTZ is recorded under the pattern
number.
5. Recording
5.1 Configuring Parameters
• Begin by making sure that the HDD (Hard Disk Drive) has
already been installed. If not, please install a HDD.
• Enter Recording Setting under Channel Setting.

• Select the Channel you want to record from.
• Choose a Record Mode.
• Under Setting, set the recording start and end times.
• Pre-Record: Set the amount of time before a scheduled time or
event for the recording to start.
• Recording Delay: Set the amount of time after a scheduled
time or event for the recording to end.
Note: Use the Copy To function to do transfer the same setting
to another channel.

6. Playback
6.1 Playback Recording Files
6.1.1 Real-time Playback
On the Live View screen, you can playback recordings from a
specific channel by clicking the buttons found along the bottom
of each channel.

6.1.2 Playback by Normal Search
Click the icon to enter the advanced playback interface.
From the Playback Interface, you can view video files recorded
during a selected time frame from multiple channels at a time.
Check the box by specific channels on the channel list to view
them and double click a date to view it. Click to start
playback.

If there are any recorded files for a camera on that day, the icon
for that day is displayed as . Otherwise, it is
displayed as . You can use the toolbar at the bottom
of the screen to control the playback.

Playback files based on event type (alarms, motion, etc.) using
the search function.
• Select the Retrieving Type: Count Alarm, Motion, Across the
Line, Regional, Alarm Detection, and Items Left/Loss.
• Click the Query button to get the search result information.
• Click the button to watch the files.
6.1.4 Playback Pictures
Captured pictures in the HDDs connected to the device can be
searched and viewed.

• On the Playback Screen, select Snapshot under Playback
Modes.
• Choose to search by day or by time.
• Select a picture source: IPC Snapshot or Playback Snapshot
• Choose a condition: Meet random or Meet all.
• Select the Retrieving Type.
• Select which Channel to search.
• Click the Query button to see results.
• Check the box by a listed picture and click to view the picture.

Note: You can click the check-box of a listed picture and then
hit the Back-up button to enter the Snapshot Back-up
screen and create a back-up of the file(s).

External File Playback
6.1.5 Playback External File
You can search for and playback files stored on the external
devices by clicking External File in the Playback Interface.
• Select Snapshot as the playback mode.
• Click the Refresh button to view a list of files.
• Click the button to playback the images, using the
and buttons to adjust playback speed.
7. File Backup
The recorded files can be backed up to various devices, such as
USB devices (USB flash drives, USB HDDs, etc). Click the
icon to view the local backup screen.

• Select the Channel to be backed up.
• Select the File Type.
• Define the time frame of the files to back up.
• Click to view the file size of the backup.
• Click to scan the USB you are using as the backup
device.
• Click to begin the backup process. After finishing,
click Confirm.

• Define the time span of files to backup.
• Select the File Type.
• Select the File Format.
• Click to view the backup file size.
• Click to begin scanning the USB you’re using as a
backupcdevice.

• Click Confirm after the backup is finished.
