IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• No naked flame sources such as lighted candles should be placed on the AC adaptor and main unit.
• Do not use the unit immediately after transportation from a cold place to a warm place, condensation problem may result.
• The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items such as newspapers, table-cloths,
curtains, etc.
• No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.
• The use of apparatus in moderate climates.
• The apparatus should not be exposed to dripping or splashing.
• Ensure a minimum distance of 5cm around the apparatus for sufficient ventilation.
• Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the apparatus.
• The marking plate is located on the back of unit.
• Attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
• Do not throw batteries in fire!
• Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
• Excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause hearing loss.
• Under the influence of electrical fast transient or/and electrostatic phenomenon, the product may malfunction and require
user to power reset.
WARNING:
• AC adaptor is used as the disconnect device. It shall remain readily operable and should not be obstructed during
intended use.To be completely disconnected the apparatus from supply mains, the AC adaptor of the apparatus shall be
disconnected from the mains socket outlet completely.
• Never use anAC adaptor that is damaged, route power lead in a safe manner and make sure it is not subjected to trapping
or pinching. If the power lead is damaged refer to a qualified service agent
UNPACKING YOUR UNIT
When you unpack your new radio, be sure you have removed all the accessories and information papers. The items below
should have been packed in the box with your radio.

Battery back-up system
This radio is equipped with a memory holding system that is powered by 1x CR2025 battery. Normal operation will resume
after power is restored, so you will not have to reset the language, time zone, time and date.
Installing battery
1.Remove the door of battery compartment to access to back-up battery lid. Eventually remove power batteries if installed.
2.Turn the lid to the left to unlock and remove it.
3. Insert 1x CR2025 battery with the “+ “ sign facing up.
4. Replace the lid and turn it to the right to lock it.

Disconnect via PC menu
You can also manage the disconnection via PC menu.
1. Click on the ‘safely remove’ icon in the PC system tray.
Click on the ‘safely remove’ message.
3) Media
3.1) Slide pace
Select this option and press LEFT or RIGHT button to select the desired slide-
show interval time for picture playback : 1 second, 2 seconds and 5 seconds.
3.2) Slide mode
Select this option and press LEFT or RIGHT button to select the slide-show
mode between “ Normal”, “ Random” and “ Loop”.
“Normal “ : Play all pictures once and stop.
“Random”: Play pictures in a random order repeatedly.
“Loop “ : Play all pictures repeatedly.
3.3) USB Connection
You can transfer files from your PC to the SD/ MMC card via the USB socket on
right side of the unit.
1. Select the option and press OK button when the unit is connected to the PC via
USB cable (not supplied). The unit will
be recognized as a mass storage device (removable disk) on your computer.
2. Message on right side is displayed.
3. When file transfer is completed, press OK button on unit to call the ‘safely
remove’ function automatically.
4.After that, disconnect the USB cable.
Tip: When connected, you can use PROGRAMGUIDE software (downloaded from
website http://www.uniwave.fr/) to edit your radio guide. Download the radio guide
list from your unit to PC, edit it in your PC and load the modified list back to your
set.
A message will pop up, telling you that it is now safe to disconnect the device.
You can now safely unplug the USB cable from your receiver and/or computer.

4) System version
Select this option and press OK button to check the software version of your unit.

MAINTENANCE
Cleaning
Be sure to turn the unit off and disconnect the AC adaptor before maintaining the unit.
- Use a soft, dry, clean cloth. Regularly dust the vents at the back or sides.
- Using solvents, abrasive or alcohol-based products risks damaging the appliance.
- If an object or liquid enters inside the appliance, unplug it immediately and have it checked by an authorized engineer.

1.4) Backlight intensity
Select this option and press LEFT or RIGHT button to adjust the backlight intensity level.

Select this option and press OK button to reset the unit to factory default settings.

Use UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT buttons to set time and date until “CONFIRM”
is highlighted, press OK button to confirm settings and exit.
1.1.2) Time zone
Select this option and press OK to enter.
Press UP or DOWN button to select a time zone and press OK to confirm.
1.1.3) Use RDS time (RDS = Radio data system)
Select this option and then press LEFT or RIGHT button to turn this function
ON or OFF.
Turn this function ON if you want time to be updated when radio is tuned on a RDS
FM station.
1.2) Language
Select one of the available operation languages for the unit.

2.1) MW step
Select the desired frequency step for MW .
2.2 ) Expert mode
This function is for DRM radio only. You can review the DRM station’s detailed
information during listening when “ON” is selected. The icon will appear in
DRM mode.
2.3 ) FM Stereo
Turn FM Stereo ON or OFF.
2.4) DRM Auto- naming
This function is for DRM radio only.
With “ON” selected, the ration station will be automatically named according to the information in DRM broadcast when
storing a new station.
2.5) SW Attenuator
Select this option and then press LEFT or RIGHT to turn this function ON or OFF.
2.6) AM Wiener Filter
Select this option and press LEFT or RIGHT button to select between “Off”, “Low”, “Normal” and “High”.

SETTINGS
Play back music and picture file simultaneously
1. Listen to music referring to steps 1-3 above.
2. Press BACK button repeatedly to go back to main menu.
3. Select “Pictures” icon under main menu and press OK to confirm. View a picture or start slide-show referring to operations
in section “Pictures”.
VIDEO
This unit can play MP4 files via SD/MMC card.
1. Select “Video” under main menu and press OK to confirm. The content list of
MP4 files will be displayed.
2. Use UP or DOWN button to select the file that you want to play , then press
OK to confirm the selected file and start playback
3. When a video file is playing, press OK button once, the function key icons will
appear on the left side of the LCD display. For operation, refer to step 4 in
section “ MUSIC “.
Note: If no button is pressed within 3 seconds, the function key icons will disappear.
Select “Settings” under main menu and press OK to enter submenu.
1 ) Syatem
Select “System” and then press OK to conform.
4. When a music file is playing, press OK button once, the function key icons will appear on the left side of the LCD display.
Select the function icon you want and press OK button to confirm.

POWER SUPPLY
This set operates onAC 110-240V~ 50/60Hz or DC 6V (4x1.5V R14/UM-2/”C” batteries).
AC operation
The suppliedAC adaptor is suitable for use on AC mains supplies of 100-240V~ and should only be connected to a mains
supply within these parameters.
Connect the AC adaptor (provided) to DC 6V IN jack on right side of unit before plugging into a convenient standardAC
outlet.
Cautions:
•Use only the included AC adaptor. Use of any other adaptors could damage the unit.
•The AC adaptor included with this unit is for its use only. Do not use it with other equipment.
•When the unit is not going to be used for long time, disconnect theAC adaptor from the AC outlet.
DC operation
This unit can be operated by 4x R14/UM-2/ “C” batteries (not supplied).
Installing batteries
1. Remove the door of the battery compartment
2. Before inserting the batteries, observe the polarities (+ and -) of the battery, then relate the polarities to the engraved
diagram on back of unit, Insert 4x R14/UM-2/ “C” batteries (not supplied) into the compartment.
3. Replace the battery door.
Notes on batteries:
- Before throwing any batteries away, consult your distributor who may be able to take them back for specific recycling.
- Do not mix different types of batteries or old batteries with new ones.
- Never recharge the batteries , apply heat to them or take them apart.
- In order to avoid leakage, always remove the batteries when unit will not be used for a long period of time.
CAUTION:
Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
If at any time in the future you should need to dispose of this product please note that Waste electrical products
should not be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist. Check with your Local
Authority or retailer for recycling advice.(Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive)
FIRST START
You need to set the unit’s operation language, time zone, time and date when
operate the unit for the first time.
Press UP or DOWN button to select one of the available languages and
press OK button to confirm and go to time zone setting.
Press UP or DOWN button to select your desired time zone and press OK
button to confirm and go to time and date setting.

Use UP, DOWN,LEFT,RIGHT buttons to set time and date until
“Confirm” is highlighted, then press OK button to confirm settings and exit. Main
menu is displayed.
TURNING UNIT ON/OFF
Slide the POWER ON/OFF switch to ON position to turn ON the unit and vice versa.
Once the unit is switched ON, it will power up without any user intervention.
This process may take a few seconds to perform. The LCD display will show the
start-up screen whilst this is taking place.
Then the main menu is displayed.

ADJUSTING THE VOLUME
Press M button once, then press LEFT or RIGHT button to adjust the volume to the desired level.
1) SD/MMC socket
You can connect a SD/MMC card (not included) to the memory card slot on right side of unit to play picture as well as music
& video files.
For operation of playing files on SD/MMC card, refer to the section “Pictures”, “Music” and “ Video” below.
Note:
• It is recommended the SD/MMC card is plugged when the unit is in OFF mode.
• SD/MMC card greater than 2GB (including 2GB) is not supported.
Note: At the top of all full screen menus, the first line indicates the signal
strength when listening to radio, current time and date and power mode
(AC or DC with battery level).
CONNECTION

PICTURES
This unit can play JPEG files via SD/MMC card.
1. Select “Pictures” under main menu and press OK to confirm. The content of
picture files will be displayed.
2. When a file is selected, press OK to play.
When a folder is selected, pressOK to view the contents in the selected folder.
3. When a picture file is playing, press OK button again and the function key icons
will appear on bottom right corner of the display. Select the function key icon
you want and press OK button to confirm.

Picture PAN & SCAN
A zoom-in picture will enter Pan & Scan mode after the function key icons disappear
from display.
Use UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT button to browse any part of the picture.
Press BACK button to exit from Pan & Scan mode.
MUSIC
This unit can play MP3 files via SD/MMC card.
1. Select “Music” under main menu and press OK to confirm. The content list of
MP3 files will be displayed.
2. Use UP or DOWN button to select the file that you want to play , then press
OK to confirm the selected file and start playback. The submenu will appear on
the bottom right corner of the display.
3. Press UP or DOWN button to select “ Play now” and press OK button to start
playback the selected file.
NOTE:
Select “Delete” and press OK button to delete the selected file.
Select “Now playing” and press OK button to resume playback of the current track.

4) Timeshift
Select icon and press OK button to enter Timeshift Mode.
This function enables 10 minutes’ buffer from live broadcast.
1. Press OK button to resume listening to the radio program. Press OK button
again to pause.
2. Press LEFT or RIGHT button to accelerate fast backward or forward.
3. Press BACK button to exit time shift mode and return to live.
AFS (Alternative Frequency Switching)
Note: The availability of a frequency for a given station may vary according to the
time of the day. Make sure that current time and date of your set is set properly in
order to display correct AFS information.
The appearance of icon below broadcasting language indicates that some
Alternative Frequency is available for your selection.
Press UP or DOWN button to enter AFS mode.
Press BACK button to exit from AFS mode.
Note: The color of icon indicates the status of this function.
Grey color : Alternative Frequency is not available.
Orange Color : Alternative Frequency is available.
5) Expert Mode
Select icon and press OK button to enter Expert Mode.
The status and information of current DRM station can be checked in expert mode.
Press DOWN button to go to next page. Press UP button to return to previous
page.

2) Using headphones/earphones
Maximum output voltage 150mV
HEADPHONE VOLUME WARNING
Connect earphones (not included) with the volume set low and increase it if required. Prolonged listening through some
earphones at high volume settings can result in hearing damage. When headphones/earphones are connected, no sound
will be emitted from the unit’s speaker.
Caution:Avoid listening to sound at levels which may be harmful to your ears.
Continuous use of earphones at high volume can damage the user’s hearing.
3) External antenna
The external antenna is for SW reception only. Connect the external antenna (provided) to the antenna jack on the back of
unit. Completely extend to its full length for better reception.
4) Connecting the unit to your computer
You can transfer files from your computer to the SD/ MMC card via the USB socket on right side of unit.
Use the extended USB cable (not supplied) to connect the unit with the computer.
MENU NAVIGATION SELECTING A MENU
1. Turn ON the unit and the main menu is displayed.
2. Press UP or DOWN button to select a menu option. Press OK button to
confirm.
3. When a submenu is on screen, use UP or DOWN button to select one of
the available options. Then press OK button to confirm.
4. Press BACK button to return to a previous menu.
Note: Press BACK button at any time during operation to return to the previous
operation.
RADIO
1. Select “Radio” in the main menu and press OK button to display radio submenu.
2. Use UP or DOWN button to select one of the available options. Then press
OK to confirm.
1) Listen to the radio
Select “ Listen to the radio” and press OK button to listen to the last station.
The menu displays the band and frequency. The station name and the type of
programme is displayed when broadcast like for example on RDS FM station.
Changing a radio station and fine tuning
Press LEFT or RIGHT button to select “ << ” or “ >>” icon on LCD display
and press OK button a number of times to tune step by step, down or up the radio
frequency respectively.
Listening to a preset station
Press LEFT or RIGHT button to select “ ” or “ ” icon on LCD display
and press OK button repeatedly to select and listen to a desired preset station
from the “Radio guide” list.

2) Radio guide
1. Select “Radio guide” and press OK button to review the list of preset stations for
DRM, FM orAM band.
2. Use LEFT or RIGHT button to select a band.
3. Press UP or DOWN button to select a station, then press OK button once.
The submenu will appear on bottom right corner of the display.
“ Play now “ Select this option and press OK button to listen to the selected
station immediately.
“ Add to favourite “ : Select this option and pressOK button to add your selected
station to “Favourite” list.
“Delete “ : Select this option and press OK button to delete the selected station
from the list.
Note: Radio guide can be edited on your PC and upload to the set. Refer to section
“ USB connection”.
3) Tuning
1. Select “ Tuning” and press OK to confirm.
2. Press LEFT or RIGHT button to select a band : DRM, FM, LW,MW or SW.
Then press OK button to confirm.
Auto tuning
Press LEFT or RIGHT button to select “ I<<” or “>>I” icon and press OK
button once to start auto tuning and it will stop automatically when a station is found.
Select a radio frequency manually
Use the on screen numeric keyboard to select directly the frequency you want.
Select first the desired band, then key in the frequency number.
E.g. 89.5MHz, highlight number 8,9,5 and then “ Enter” respectively, confirm each highlight by pressing OK button.
Select “Clear” to erase the digits you have keyed in.
Note: If the frequency entered does not exist for the selected band, “error” will be displayed when pressing.
Auto tuning storage (ATS)
1. Select “ATS” icon and press OK button, a dialog box will appear on display.
2. Highlight “Confirm” and press OK button to start auto-scan. The received stations
will be stored in FM list under “Radio guide” and replace the current list
automatically.
3. Highlight “Cancel” and press OK button to exit.
Note:ATS function is for FM band only
Store a station
Follow operations above to select a station, then press LEFT or RIGHT button to select “STORE” icon and press OK
button to store the radio in “Radio guide” list.
4) Stop the radio
Select “Stop the radio” and press OK button to stop the current radio station.
Tune to a DRM radio (refer to the section “Tuning” ) or select a DRM station from
the DRM list (refer to section “ Radio guide”).

Icons will appear on bottom of LCD display indicating the available services during DRM broadcasting. Press LEFT or
RIGHT button to select an icon and press OK to confirm:

2) Journaline
Journaline technology licensed by Fraunhofer IIS
Journaline®is a new Text-based Digital Radio Information Service. While listening radio, the LCD screen allows displaying
broadcast information text on financial, traffic, weather, sports, advertising … You can easily and immediately access the
topics you are interested in.
Select icon and press OK button to enter Journaline mode.
3) MOT slide show
Certain channels transmit pictures via MOT (Multimedia Object Transfer) protocol together with audio broadcast. Your
DRM radio allows picture reception that you can display full screen.
Select icon and press OK button to enter MOT slide show mode. The pictures which are received and extracted from
DRM signal will be shown on display.
1. Press LEFT or RIGHT button to select a picture.
2. Press OK button to view the selected picture in full screen.
3. Press OK button again to save current picture to SD card when inserted.
4. Press BACK button to exit from full screen mode.
1. Press UP or DOWN button to navigate through the available selections
and OK to select.
2. Press RIGHT button to view the content of the selection. Press RIGHT button to go to next page, press LEFT to
return to previous page.
3. Press BACK button to exit from viewing mode.
Tips: Journaline contains both links and plain text. When hyperlinks are not yet received, the link line is displayed without
underline. Refresh the page after a few seconds by using UP or DOWN button.
