que, de no evitarse, podría resultar en fallecimiento o en
accidente grave.
PRECAUCION – Indica una situación posiblemente riesgosa
que, de no evitarse, podría resultar en una accidente menor /
moderado o daños al producto/propiedad. También se utiliza
para advertir acerca de prácticas inseguras.
Al usar este aparato eléctrico o cualquier otro aparato,
siempre siga las instrucciones básicas de seguridad:
Lea todas las instrucciones contenidas en este manual
antes de usar el aparato.
ADVERTENCIA – Para reducir el riesgo de incendio, descarga
eléctrica o accidentes personales graves:
Este aparato no puede ser utilizado por personas (incluyendo
niños) con capacidades físicas, sensoriales o mentales
reducidas o por personas sin experiencia ni conocimientos
acerca de su uso, a menos que sean supervisados por una
persona responsable de su seguridad o hayan recibido la
instrucciones de uso necesarias.
• Los niños deben estar supervisados en todo momento para
evitar que jueguen con el aparato.
• Siempre use este aparato sobre una supercie plana,
estable y resistente al calor.
• La temperatura de las supercies a las que el usuario tiene
acceso puede ser muy alta cuando el aparato está en uso.
Asegúrese de evitar tocar las piezas calientes.
• Use el aparato en un lugar con buena ventilación. Mantenga
un espacio mínimo de 10 a 15 cms alrededor del aparato para
disponer de una circulación de aire adecuada.
• No coloque el aparato sobre o cerca de un quemador a gas
o eléctrico, dentro de un horno caliente o sobre cualquier otra
supercie caliente.
• Evite que el aparato esté en contacto con cortinas,
cubremuros, ropa, paños de cocina u otros materiales
inamables cuando está en uso.
• No toque las supercies calientes del aparato. No lo
mueva cuando esté enchufado. Deje que el aparato se enfríe
completamente antes de tocarlo.
• Sólo use los accesorios recomendados o vendidos por el
fabricante.
• No use el aparato cerca del agua o de otros líquidos.
• No sumerja ni coloque el aparato en agua o en otro tipo
de líquidos. Si el aparato se cae al agua, desenchúfelo
inmediatamente. Evite que el aparato esté en contacto con
el agua.
• No deje el aparato desatendido cuando está en uso. El
aparato no ha sido diseñado para ser operado por un timer
externo o por un sistema de control remoto separado.
• No tense ni coloque ningún objeto pesado sobre el cable
eléctrico ya que esté se puede dañar y romper.
• No enchufe/desenchufe el cable eléctrico con las manos
mojadas.
• Mantenga el cable eléctrico y el aparato alejados de
supercies calientes.
• No use el aparato si el cable o el enchufe están dañados, si no
está funcionando correctamente, si se ha golpeado, dañado o
ha quedado expuesto al agua o a otro tipo de líquidos.
• Si el cable eléctrico se daña, éste debe ser reemplazado por
el fabricante, por un agente de servicio técnico autorizado o
por una persona debidamente calicada para evitar riesgos.
• Este aparato puede ser usado por niños a partir de los 8
años y por personas con capacidades físicas, sensoriales
o mentales reducidas o por personas sin experiencia ni
conocimientos necesarios acerca de su uso, sólo si estas
personas están supervisadas o han recibido las instrucciones
necesarias acerca de cómo usarlo en forma segura y
comprenden los riesgos asociados.
• Los niños no deben jugar con el aparato.
• Los niños menores a 8 años no deben limpiar ni dar
mantenimiento al aparato.
• Mantenga el cable eléctrico y el aparato lejos de niños
menores de 8 años.
PRECAUCION—Para reducir el riesgo de accidentes o daños
al aparato/propiedad:
• Este aparato ha sido diseñado para preparar paninis o como
plancha y su uso es doméstico, no comercial ni industrial; no
debe ser usado al aire libre ni para otros nes.
• No deje el cable eléctrico colgando del mesón o mesa con
el n de evitar que alguien se pueda tropezar con él o tirar
el aparato.
Instrucciones especiales
− Para evitar una sobrecarga del circuito eléctrico al usar
el aparato, no use ningún otro aparato de alto voltaje en el
mismo circuito.
− El aparato incluye un cable eléctrico corto. No se
recomienda usar un cable alargador, sin embargo, en caso de
ser necesario:
− El voltaje del cable alargador debe ser por lo menos igual
al del aparato.
− No deje el cable alargador colgando sobre una mesa o
mesón con el n de evitar que alguien se tropiece con él o
lo tire.

Instrucciones de Uso
PRECAUCION: No use el aparato para cocinar o descongelar
alimentos. Todos los alimentos que se utilicen deben estar
completamente descongelados.
NOTA: Al usar el aparato por primera vez, es posible que
emita algo de humo. Esto es normal y no continuará después
de comenzar a usarlo.
1. Antes de usar el aparato por primera vez, límpielo
siguiendo las instrucciones descritas en la Sección “Cuidado
y Mantenimiento”.
2. Presione el extremo del pasador que está cerca del mango
para abrir el aparato.
3. Abra el aparato levantando el mango hacia arriba.
4. Cierre las placas y encienda el aparato enchufándolo a un
tomacorriente. Conrme que el indicador esté encendido
(luz de color naranja).
ADVERTENCIA: Las placas y las supercies metálicas del
aparato se calentarán mucho durante el uso. Para evitar
quemaduras, use guantes de cocina y sólo toque la parte
negra del mango.
5. Una vez que el aparato se ha precalentado por
aproximadamente 5 minutos, el Indicador de color verde se
encenderá indicando que el aparato está listo para ser usado.
6. Use el mango para levantar la placa superior. Coloque los
alimentos sobre la placa inferior usando utensilios de madera
o resistentes al calor.
PRECAUCION: No use utensilios metálicos ya que pueden
rallar y dañar las placas antiadherentes.
7. Use el mango para bajar y apoyar la placa superior sobre
los alimentos.
NOTAS:
• El tiempo de cocción dependerá del tipo y grosor de los
alimentos.
• Los alimentos deben estar completamente cocidos antes
de consumirlos.
8. Una vez que los alimentos han sido cocinados al punto que
desea, levante el mango para abrir las placas, luego retire los
alimentos usando los utensilios adecuados. Si desea cocinar
los alimentos por más tiempo, vuelva a cerrar las placas para
conservar el calor.
9. Repita los Pasos 7-9 hasta que el tiempo de cocción se
haya completado; si es necesario, vuelva a aplicar aceite a las
placas.
10. Desenchufe el aparato.
11. Una vez que el aparato se ha enfriado completamente,
límpielo y luego séquelo.
12. Deje cerrado el aparato presionando el extremo del
pasador que está más alejado del mango.
Limpieza
• Antes de limpiar el aparato, desenchúfelo y espere a que
se enfríe bien.
• Limpie la supercie exterior del aparato con un paño
levemente humedecido evitando que la humedad, aceite o
grasa entren por los oricios de ventilación.
• No limpie el interior ni el exterior del aparato con una
esponja abrasiva o de acero ya que se dañará el recubrimiento.
• No sumerja el aparato en agua ni en otro tipo de líquidos.

Signal Word Denitions

which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury.
Usage of this signal word is limited to the most extreme
situations.
WARNING – Indicates a potentially hazardous situation,
which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION – Indicates a potentially hazardous situation,
which, if not avoided, may result in minor/moderate injury
or product/property damage. It also alerts against unsafe
practices.
When using this or any other electrical appliance, always
follow these basic safety precautions:
Read all instructions before use.
WARNING-- To reduce the risk of re, electric shock, or
serious personal injury:
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of
the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with the appliance.
• Always use the product on a at, stable, heat-resistant
surface.
• The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when
the appliance is operating. Make sure not to touch these hot
parts of the appliance.
• Use the product in a well-ventilated area. Keep at least 4-6
inches of space on all sides of the product to allow adequate
air circulation.
• Do not place the product on or near a gas or electric burner,
or inside or on top of a heated oven or other heat source.
• Do not allow the product to touch curtains, wall coverings,
clothing, dishtowels, or other ammable materials during its
use.
• Do not touch hot surfaces of the product. Do not move
the product while it is plugged in. Allow the product to
thoroughly cool before handling it.
• Do not use attachments not recommended for use with this
product or sold by the product manufacturer.
• Do not use the product near water or other liquids.
• Do not place or drop the product into water or other liquids.
If the product falls into water, immediately unplug it from the
electrical outlet. Do not touch or reach into the water.
• Do not leave the product unattended while it is in use. The
appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an
external timer or separate remote-control system.
• Do not put any stress on the Power Cord where it connects
to the product as the Power Cord could fray and break.
• Do not plug or unplug the product into/from an electrical
outlet with a wet hand.
• Keep the product and its Power Cord away from heated
surfaces.
• Never operate this product if it has a damaged Power Cord
or Plug, is not working properly, has been dropped, damaged,
or exposed to water or other liquids.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualied
person in order to avoid a hazard
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years
and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by
children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less
than 8 years.
CAUTION-- To reduce the risk of personal injury or product/
property damage:
• This product is intended for indoor, non-industrial, non-
commercial, household use only as a panini maker and healthy
grill. Do not use the item outdoors or for any other purpose.
• Do not allow the Power Cord to hang where it may be
tripped over or pulled (e.g., over the edge of a table or
counter).
Special instructions:
• To avoid a circuit overload when using this product, do not
operate another high-wattage product on the same electrical
circuit.
• A short power supply cord is provided with this product. An
extension cord is not recommended for use with this product,
but if one must be used:
− The marked electrical rating of the cord must be at least as
great as that of the product.
− Arrange the extension cord so that it does not hang where
it can be tripped over or pulled unintentionally.

To Use
CAUTION: Do not use this product to cook or defrost frozen
food. All food must be completely defrosted before cooking
it with this product.
NOTE: During the initial uses of this product, it may produce
some smoke. This is normal and will subside with further use.
13. Before using this product for the rst time, clean it as
described in the “Care and Maintenance” section.
14. Press in the end of the Locking Latch nearest the Handle
to unlock the product.
15. Open the unit by pulling the Handle up.
16. Close the Plates and turn the unit on by plugging it into
a standard electrical outlet. Verify that the Power Indicator
Light illuminates in orange.
WARNING: The Cooking Plates and metal surfaces of the
unit will become extremely hot when in use. To avoid a burn
hazard, wear heat resistant mitts or gloves and touch only the
black portion of the Handle.
17. After the unit preheats for approximately ve minutes, the
Ready Indicator Light will illuminate in green, indicating the
product is ready for use.
18. Use the Handle to lift the Upper Plate. Place food on the
Lower Plate using wooden or plastic heat-resistant utensils.
CAUTION: Do not use metal utensils on this product, as they
will scratch and damage the Plates’ non-stick coating.
19. Use the Handle to lower and rest the Upper Plate on top
of the food.
NOTES:
• The cooking time for dierent foods depends on the type
and thickness of the foods.
• Foods should be cooked thoroughly before consumption.
20. When the food is cooked as desired, lift the Handle to
open the Plates, then remove the food using the utensils. If
more cooking will be done at this time, close the Plates to
conserve heat.
21. Repeat Steps 7-9 until all cooking is complete, reapplying
cooking oil as necessary.
22. Turn o the product by unplugging the Power Cord from
the electrical outlet.
23. When the unit has completely cooled, clean and dry it.
24. Lock the unit in its closed position by pressing in the end
of the Locking Latch farthest from the Handle.
Cleaning
• Before cleaning, unplug and wait for the appliance and the
plates to cool down.
• Wipe the outside with only a slightly moistened cloth
ensuring that no moisture, oil or grease enters the cooling
slots.
• Do not clean the inside or outside with any abrasive scouring
pad or steel wool as this will damage the nish.
• Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.
