INSTALLATION
Mounting
The VIP-415-IC Pendant Speaker is designed to
be suspended from a ceiling using the enclosed
chain. The chain is not attached to the ring at the
top of the speaker to prevent damage to the
speaker's finish during shipping. To install the
chain, open the link on the end of the chain and
loop the link through the ring located on the top of
the speaker and close the link. Make sure the
chain is securely fastened to the ceiling.
NOTE: An additional 6 feet Length of chain is
available. Order Part Number V-1093-BK
The area covered by a pendant speaker is
determined by the suspended height of the
speaker.
The following chart shows the height and
horizontal spacing (in feet) and the estimated
coverage (in square feet).
Network Connection
The VIP-415-IC has approximately 14
foot Ethernet cable pre-wired at the
factory and terminated with an RJ45
connector. Connect the cable to an
Ethernet switch providing Power over
Ethernet (PoE) meeting the 802.3af
specification. If the switch does not
provide power, a mid-span power
injector may be used.
Setup
The VIP-415-IC will automatically
acquire an IP address (using DHCP)
and connect to the InformaCast
server when connected to the
network and powered up.
Information specific to your
application will need to be
programmed into the InformaCast
server. Refer to the InformaCast
documentation for further
Information.

9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized orgrounding-type plug. A polarized plug
has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two bladesand a
third grounding prong. The wide blade and the third prong are provided for your safety. If
the provided plug does not fit into your outlet consult an electrician for replacement of the
obsolete outlet.
