Heat Powered
Stove Fan

English
Valiant
Ventum III
Heat Powered Stove Fan
User Guide
Before you enjoy the
benets of your product
please take a few moments
to read our advice and
instructions below.
Thank you for purchasing
a Valiant product, all
our products have been
designed and manufactured
to provide a long, reliable
service.
Introduction
Your Valiant Ventum III
fan has been designed,
engineered and produced
so that you can obtain the
optimum heat from your
stove; whatever type of fuel
you burn.
We recommend that the
Ventum III Fan is used
when the top of a stove
reaches approximately
100°C (212°F) or higher; at
this temperature you will
feel the benets of wider
heat distribution as the
fan circulates warm air
throughout your room. (You
can test this temperature
by using a Valiant Stove
Thermometer, sold
separately.)
The fan uses Peltier
Technology (also known
as the Seebeck eect) to
harness heat that generates
electricity which powers
the fan. Warm air is pushed
into the room rather than
simply rising to the ceiling
or being trapped around
the stove. This improves the
eectiveness of the stove,
maximising heat distribution
around the room and
thereby ensuring fuel
eciency.

The fan uses intelligent
design and will start to build
up speed at approximately
45°C; slowing and stopping
when the re burns down
and stove temperature cools.
Safety
• Stoves and res can get
HOT; your Valiant Ventum
III heat powered stove fan
will get hot.
• The fan will draw attention
so please ensure that
any vulnerable people
or animals are kept away
from the stove and fan.
• If moving the fan, the base
may be very hot, so please
wear heat-proof gloves.
• Do not place the fan on a
delicate surface.
• The fan blades, whilst not
dangerous, may cause
discomfort or harm if
ngers are inserted into
moving rotating blades.
• Do not cause obstruction
to the fan blades.
Operation
• Carefully remove
the product from its
packaging and, before
placing your fan on the
stove, check the blades
freely rotate.
• Retain the product
packaging for reference
and the safe storage of the
fan when not in use.
• Place your Valiant Ventum
III heat powered stove
fan as close to the rear of
the stove and to the side
of ue pipe as possible.
This will allow the fan to
draw cooler air through
its blades and across the
stove, collecting heat and
warmed air before gently
propelling into the room.
• It is vital to ensure
reliability and eective
operation that the top
section of the fan remains
cooler than the base.
Never lay the product at
on its back. Never place
the fan directly in front of
the ue pipe.
• Some stoves are too
small or do not permit
positioning of a fan at the
side – in these cases place
the fan to the right or left
of the ue pipe but never
in front. Placing the fan in
front of the ue pipe will
cause the top of the fan
to run too hot, which will
slow the fan speed and
cause premature failure to
the motor and generator.
• The fan will start
automatically when the
surface temperature
under the fan reaches
around 45°C (113°F).
• The speed of the
fan increases as the
temperature rises to a
maximum of around
230°C (450°F).
• There is a bi-metallic
safety device in the base
of the fan. If the surface
temperature rises above
around 250°C the safety
device gently elevates the
front of the fan to protect
the Peltier and motor. The
fan will lower to normal as
the surface temperature
reduces.
• The fan will operate
with any stove where
the surface temperature
ranges up to 320°C
(600°F). Temperatures
exceeding this range may
cause damage to the
components of any stove
fan; if in doubt please
check the stove operating
manual.
• We recommend the
use of a Valiant Stove
Thermometer to monitor
the temperature and
maximise the eciency of
your stove, this may also
result in a reduction in fuel
usage.
Care & Maintenance
• Your Valiant Ventum III
heat powered stove fan
is manufactured using
high grade components
and resilient anodised
aluminium. The fan does
not require maintenance
in typical use, although

the fan will benet from
an occasional clean when
cool, using a damp clean
cloth. Carefully remove
any dust on the cool ns
and blades.
• When not in use place
the fan in the original
packaging for safe
storage.
Problem Solving
• If the goods have arrived
in a damaged condition
please contact your
supplier.
• In the unlikely event that
parts are missing or the
product is not working as
described, please contact
us at the address below
so that we may deal with
your problem swiftly and
minimise delays.
• If the fan appears to be
vibrating, this may be due
to the blades becoming
out of alignment. When
the fan is cool, slowly
rotate the blades while
observing the gap
between the tip of each
blade and the top. If one
or more of the blades is
out of alignment they
may be gently adjusted by
holding the blades whilst
applying slight pressure
to the misaligned blade.
Check and repeat as
required.

Valiant
Ventum III
Ventilateur de poêle
fonctionnant à la chaleur
Mode d’emploi
Avant de proter de tous
les avantages de votre
produit, veuillez prendre
quelques instants pour lire
nos conseils d’utilisation et
instructions ci-dessous.
Nous vous remercions
d’avoir acheté un produit
Valiant. Tous nos produits
ont été conçus et fabriqués
pour être ables et orir une
longue durée d’utilisation.
Présentation
Votre ventilateur Valiant
Ventum III a été conçu,
développé et fabriqué an
de vous faire bénécier
d’un rendement de chaleur
maximal de votre poêle
quel que soit le type de
combustible utilisé.
Nous conseillons d’utiliser
le ventilateur Ventum III
lorsque la température du
dessus du poêle atteint
environ 100°C (212°F) ou
plus. À cette température,
vous bénécierez de tous les
avantages d’une plus grande
distribution de chaleur que
vous procurera le ventilateur
en faisant circuler l’air
chaud dans toute la pièce.
Vous pouvez tester cette
température à l’aide d’un
thermomètre de poêle
Valiant vendu séparément.
Le ventilateur utilise
la technologie Peltier
(également connue sous le
nom d’eet Seebeck) an
de capter la chaleur qui va
générer l’électricité servant à
alimenter le ventilateur. L’air
chaud est ensuite expulsé
dans la pièce plutôt que de
simplement monter jusqu’au
plafond ou de se retrouver
piéger autour du poêle.
Les performances du poêle
sont donc bien meilleures
et la distribution optimale
de chaleur dans la pièce
et dans les pièces voisines
vous permet d’économiser
sur votre consommation de
combustible.
La conception intuitive
du ventilateur lui permet
de démarrer et de gagner
en vitesse dès que la
température approche les
45°C. Il ralentit et s’arrête
lorsque le feu s’éteint et que
la température du poêle
refroidit.
Sécurité
• Les poêles et cheminées
peuvent atteindre de très
HAUTES températures.
Votre ventilateur de poêle
Valiant Ventum III va
également être très chaud.
• Le ventilateur va
également attirer
l’attention. Veuillez-vous
assurer de bien maintenir
toute personne vulnérable
ou tout animal à l’écart du
poêle et du ventilateur.
• Veuillez porter des gants
de protection contre la
chaleur pour déplacer le
ventilateur car son socle
pourrait être très chaud.
• Ne posez pas le ventilateur
sur une surface fragile.
• Les pales du ventilateur,
bien qu’elles ne soient
pas dangereuses,
peuvent entraîner des
désagréments voire
même des blessures en
cas d’insertion des doigts
lorsque les pales sont en
mouvement.
• Veuillez ne pas entraver
les pales du ventilateur.
Fonctionnement
• Retirez soigneusement le
produit de son emballage
et, avant de placer le
ventilateur sur le poêle,
assurez-vous que les pales
tournent sans entrave.
