the fan, do not slide on the ue pipe as this may mark the
surface.
• Open the wings on your fan, then offer the ue pipe fan to
the desired position with the top of the fan touching the
pipe, but the bottom at around 45°. Pivot the fan down
until the bottom of the fan is also touching the ue pipe.
The fan should now be rmly held by the magnets.
• Note that the magnets hold even at very high
temperatures. They are also very brittle, so do not allow
them to snap onto the ue pipe.
• For repositioning or removing, ensure the fan and pipe
are cold. Pivot the fan from the bottom and remove, then
repeat this process as required.
OPERATION
• The fan operates best when the top section is as cool (less
hot) as possible, so place as high as convenient up the
ue pipe. The optimum placement will be around 40cm up
from the stove top. This will allow the fan to draw cooler
air through its blades and across the stove, collecting heat
and warmed air before gently propelling it into the room.
• To ensure reliability and effective operation, it is vital that
the top section of the fan remains cooler than the base.
Never prevent the blades from rotating, or damage to the
motor and or Peltier will occur.
• The fan will start automatically when the fan structure
reaches around 50°C (122°F).
• The speed of the fan increases as the temperature rises, to
a maximum of around 230°C (450°F).
• The fan will operate with any wood or multifuel stove
where the magnetic ue pipe temperature ranges up to
300°C (570°F). Temperatures exceeding this range may
cause damage to the components of any stove fan, and
the ue system itself. If in doubt, please check the stove
operating manual.
• We recommend the use of a Valiant Stove Thermometer
to monitor the temperature and maximise the eciency
of your stove - this may also result in a reduction in fuel
usage.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
• Your Valiant Remora Flue Pipe Fan is manufactured using
high grade components and resilient anodised aluminium.
• The fan does not require maintenance in typical use,
although the fan will benet from an occasional clean
when cool, using a damp clean cloth. Carefully remove any
dust on the cool ns and blades.
• When not in use place the fan in the original packaging for
safe storage.
PROBLEM SOLVING
• If the goods have arrived in a damaged condition, you
should contact your supplier.
• In the unlikely event that parts are missing or the product
is not working as described, contact Valiant at the address
below so that your problem can be dealt with swiftly and
minimise delays.
• If the fan does not appear to be operating normally, do
not be tempted to over-re the stove - this will cause
premature damage to the generator.
