First-time Configuration
5 First-time Configuration
5.1 Overview
Once a workstation has been connected to IDENTIKEY Appliance, as explained in 4.3, the next step is the first-
time configuration of IDENTIKEY Appliance in the Configuration Tool. All the instructions in this section need to be
completed in the Configuration Tool. To complete first-time configuration:
Complete the Configuration Wizard
Complete the Licensing Wizard
Complete the IDENTIKEY Authentication Server Setup Wizard
Install the Support Certificate
Complete manual configurations (if required)
The Configuration Wizard is launched when you access a new IDENTIKEY Appliance via web browser and guides
you through a minimal number of settings. During the Configuration Wizard, the IP address of IDENTIKEY
Appliance is changed to within your network. You can then reset the IP address of the workstation you used to
connect to IDENTIKEY Appliance, unless you used the Rescue Tool as explained in 6.6 Change IP Address .
A license key is required to make the appliance fully operational. To obtain a license key, IDENTIKEY Appliance
must be identified to the VASCO Service Center, from where a license key can be downloaded. After installation,
and before Licensing, the IDENTIKEY Appliance Configuration Tool is accessible for configuration, but the
IDENTIKEY Authentication Server Administration Web Interface and other services will not be available. The
Licensing procedure is supported by a Licensing Wizard, which is accessible through the IDENTIKEY Appliance
Configuration Tool. This wizard guides the system administrator through a minimal number of settings as
explained in section 5.3.10 Licensing Wizard. For more information on Licensing, see the Licensing section of the
IDENTIKEY Appliance Product uide.
The IDENTIKEY Authentication Server Setup Wizard will then walk you through the configuration of a Master
Domain, along with an administrator login for this domain. This wizard will also allow you to easily enable and
configure HSM and secure auditing. After completing the IDENTIKEY Authentication Server Setup Wizard, the
Administration Web Interface and other services will finally be available.
Manual configuration in the IDENTIKEY Appliance Configuration Tool is only possible after completion of the
Configuration Wizard. For more information on manual configuration, please see the IDENTIKEY Appliance
Administrator uide.
