DigitalDosimetryPlatformtomanageyouroccupationalradiation
monitoringprograms.Thefollowinginstructionshavebeenpreparedtohelpyouachieveoptimalresults
whenusingtheVerifiidigitaldosimeter.
DosimeterCommunications
TheVerifiidigitaldosimetercommunicateswiththeVerifiicloudapplicationsviaabase
station/gatewayusingBluetoothLowEnergy(BLE)4.0communications.TheBLEsignaltypicallyhasa
rangeof50feetandthedosimetershouldbeplacedwithin50feetofthebasestationatleastoncedaily
fordatatransmission.
TheVerifiiDigitalDosimetryPlatformsupportsanumberofdevicestobeusedasabasestation
includingiPads,iPhonesandPC’s.Forinformationaboutassigningdosimeterstoparticipantsand
establishingtheVerifiidosimeter’scommunicationswithabasestation,pleaseseethe“QuickStartBase
StationUserGuide.”
TheVerifiiDigitalDosimeterneedstobewithinrangeofabasestationtosupportthefollowing
dosimetermodesofoperation:

‐Assignment
‐Unassignment
‐DataTransmission
‐Software/FirmwareUpdates
InitializingtheDevice
Whenyoureceiveyourdosimeterinthebox,itwillbeinsleepmode.Thiskeepsthedeviceinultra‐low‐
powermodetooptimizeshelflife.Whenyouarereadytousethedevice,youwillneedtoinitializeitby
pressingthewakeupbutton.ThedosimeterLEDwillflashthreetimesindicatingthedosimeterhasbeen
successfullyactivated
UsingtheDevice
Oncethedeviceisinitializedandassignedtoaparticipant,itwillcollectmeasurementseveryhour.
Thereisnothingadditionalyouwillneedtodotousethedevice.Simplyensureyouarewithinrangeof
abasestation(50feet)atleastonceperdayandwearthedosimeterproperly.
Whilewearingthedosimeter:
1. Yourbadgeshouldbewornonornearyourshirtcollar
2. Theraisedhexagonshapeonthedosimetermustbefacingoutandawayfromthebody
3. Alwayscheckthedosimeterlabeltoensureyou’rewearingthecorrectdosimeter
Note:YourdosimetermaygenerateanerrormessageontheVerifiidashboardifithasbeenawayfrom
thebasestationfortoolong,orifthebatteriesneedtobereplaced.Intheseinstances,followthe




instructionsbelowtomitigatetheseissues,orcontactLANDAUERCustomerSupporttoassistyouwith
thisprocess.
Maintenance
TheVerifiidosimeterisvirtuallymaintenance‐free,asidefromcleaningandbatteryreplacement.The
followingproceduresshouldbefollowedforbadgeupkeep.
Cleaning
TheVerifiidosimeterwasdesignedtomeetanIP55IngressProtectionRating.Assuch,itcanbe
disinfectedbyhand‐wipingthedosimeterwithanumberofcommondisinfectingsolvents.
Caution:thedosimetershouldneverbeimmersedinanyliquidasthedosimetermaybedamagedif
liquidsenterthedosimeterenclosure.
ChangingtheClip/RearCoverAssembly
Intheeventthatthedosimeterclipisn’tworkingproperly,theclip/rearcoverassemblycanbereplaced
by:
1. Unscrewingthetwoclip/rearcoverassemblyT6Torxscrews
2. Gentlypullingtheclip/rearcoverassemblyapartfromthedosimeterhousing
3. Insertingbatteriesintothereplacementclip/backcover
4. Re‐assemblingthefrontandrearcoverassemblies
5. Finishbygentlytighteningthetwoscrewsinthebackcoverassembly
Note:Oncepowerisreset,theLEDindicatorlightwillblinkonce.
ChangingBatteries
Dosimeterbatterieswillneedtobereplacedonceperyear,onaverage.Asystemnotificationissent
whenitistimetoreplacebatteries.
Toreplacebatteries,followthestepsgivenintheabovesection(ChangingClip).Whenyouhave
removedthebackdoorofthedevice,simplytakeouttheexistingbatteriesandinsertnewones(the
backdoorincludesgraphicswhichindicateproperbatteryinsertionorientation).Ensurethebatteries
havebeenpresseddownallthewayandaresnug.Thisensuresproperbatteryplacement.Lastly,
replacethebackdoor.





